I know this topic probably was talked about but i just want to see if its really okey since i am really hesistant. So i know its dumb but i am 18 and female and recently the new girl group catched my eye Hearts2hearts and i really love them but its first time since i am older then 4 members and my favourite is ian which i am a bit more than 2 years older. I dont know if this is okey but i want to bias her and by that i mean also collecting her merch. I've always seen people complaining about this group have great vocals but mostly lipsing plus lack stage presence and need a back up dancers to deliver a good performance. And this group have great stage presence and don't need a back up dancers but have a weak/mediocre vocals. Then the answer to all those complains are nmixx because they have both of those things that people crave so much in a group. So why people didn't stan them and make them the 4th gen leader and one of the biggest group in kpop?? This post is not to glorigy YG's promotion.It is just my observation.I have seen many people bashing YG and how YG wasted their potential by givibg them limited comeback. But what I think that it was what YG intended.Blackpink was never the bubbly, girl next door group. Yg always wanted to potray them as elegent, high-end, classy polished celebrity, by limiting their visibility. They attended limited variety show and performed on limited music shows as compared to their peers.YG very particular about the Blackpink girl's event attendance.Also having comebacks after 1.5 or 2 years is common in western pop industry. So, why people claim that having limited cb means not promoted well. I personally think TWS are extremely active...mabye I'm just saying that cause I'm deep into the 42 rabbit hole but there genuinely always up to something, they did not take that "24/7 with us" concept lightly. Before I went to college in 2023, during my SHS years here in PH, I've been fantasizing about being a K-pop idol and nursing student. Stupid question but can you actually balance your time as an Idol/Artist and being a student nurse with ongoing clinical rotations, retdems, and exams while still able to perform on stage and do promotions? This is something I’ve been wondering about for a bit. I’ve been listening to K-Pop for maybe a year and a half, and I’ve seen that there are idol groups that don’t dance but play instruments instead (Xdinary Heroes). Granted I haven’t been in this space long enough to know if my observations are correct, but do these groups have better longevity in the long run, simply due to not enduring the wear and tear on their bodies that dancing does? I’d also imagine that it’s probably easier for their audience to grow with them as they get older and to probably gain more of a fan base outside of your average K-Pop groups, as rock music appeals to so many people. Like I said, I haven’t been in this K-Pop space long enough to know if this holds true, or if there are that many idol rock groups that have been around long enough to see if this theory holds any weight.
