I might get some backlash for how broad this is. But like for example a lot of ppl agree the beatles are one of the most influential bands. Its kinda like ethat question submitted by /u/Difficult_End_7059 [link] [comments]

It's so relatable, I genuinely think about it very regularly. (This is the translated version of the tweet from a fan who went through her old account in 2016 and translated every tweet) submitted by /u/loversickgirls13 [link] [comments]

Lately I’ve been thinking about how tough the K-pop industry seems for idols; like the long hours, strict diets, barely any freedom, and super intense contracts. I know every job under capitalism is exploitive as well, but this feels like a whole different level since idols are not just making capital, they are capital. This begs the question: how much do fans actually know about this stuff? submitted by /u/Mountain-You9842 [link] [comments]
How to play: Comment or upvote the idol you think has had the best hair of the given color. Please do not comment idols that have already won in another color. Jonghyun from Shinee won as the male idol with the best PINK hair with 95 upvotes! Today's color: BROWN 🤎 submitted by /u/ExtensionStation6334 [link] [comments]
Do they know about the exploitation of idols in the industry and how much do they know? submitted by /u/Mountain-You9842 [link] [comments]
Just a for fun self-reflective question! Be sure to mention what aspects you’re more knowledgeable in and which ones you’re lacking in. For me, I’d put myself in maybe top 35-45%? I’ve been a fan for ~6 years and had casual exposure prior. I know all or most of the top groups from all gens, could recognize/name at least a few members from most groups (and all members from the highly popular ones). I’ve seen most “iconic” MVs and heard most of the “iconic” hits. I know the full discographies of 5+ groups, the majority of many more, and for the rest of the popular groups i’m at least a casual listener. My weakness is definitely nugu group knowledge which i’d like to get into more. I’m also pretty lacking in drama & meme/viral moments knowledge because i stay away from social media and rarely watch unofficial group content such as compilations/analyses. My girl group knowledge is comparatively weak as well. NOTE: There is for sure going to be a self-selection bias for people with more experience chiming in, but I want to hear from newer people as well so please don’t be afraid to comment :) Also remember that the dunning-krueger effect goes both ways! People with more knowledge actually tend to underestimate how much they know, while people with less knowledge will overestimate. submitted by /u/Lilac-Soul [link] [comments]
BP is my ult group. Literally the group that got me into kpop. I've been struggling to find somewhere to talk about the current tour without being met with people who think they can do absolutely no wrong or people who despise them for breathing. On one hand their sub is an echo chamber and on the other, the other subs that are talking about the tour are very "Blackpink is the literal worst thing that happened to kpop". I need a middle ground. I want to talk to someone about how I'm extremely disappointed with the current tour but at the same time I find it exciting when they do their solos together. I'm not new to kpop, I know this happens in general. I also understand that BP is huge so obviously they have a bigger fandom and also more people who don't like them. I'm a grown woman, I understand nuances. I'm just kinda annoyed this is happening to me ig. Ugh. submitted by /u/sam_553 [link] [comments]

Hey everyone! I'm wondering if there are other Ukrainian K-pop fans here on Reddit. I haven't found a subreddit or a specific place for us to connect, so I thought I'd ask! 29 Would love to chat, share fandom stuff, maybe even start a small Telegram/Discord group or for Ukrainian fans (or Ukrainian speakers in general). Let me know if you're out there!🩷 (Можна писати українською теж, якщо що 🫶🏻) submitted by /u/sooo_min [link] [comments]

In my personal experience, the groups that have released today literally only promote abroad. I mean that now the music is not so much Kpop, it is more pop music and for me personally, the fact that it sounds like Kpop is itzy, skz, twice is my opinion submitted by /u/sunrise_su [link] [comments]
I've been into Kpop for almost 8 years and am a casual listener of many groups. My personal criteria for stanning a group is when I like at least 90% of their discography. It's not something I do intentionally, but that's just how it's been. Twice, Red Velvet, aespa, Le Sseraphim, Itzy, and SHINee are the groups I actually stan for both the music and the members. I first get obsessed with the groupl's discography, then with the group itself when I start getting to know them through other content and etc. But i-dle is the only group I genuinely stan for the members than for the music. I've been stanning them since their rookie days, but there discography has a lot of misses for me LOL. Some of them are legit bangers, though (mostly title tracks). But I feel like I love the members more than their music. Do ya'll have a group like that? submitted by /u/beelzebub2099 [link] [comments]

I wish more Kpop fans understood this quote. It was said a while back by Theodore Roosevelt, but I believe it has more relevance than ever. Here are a few examples of what I mean. First, Lesserafim’s Coachella performance. “It sucks Blackpink’s was so much better” or “I had to go watch Blackpink to cleanse my eyes”. Like hello??? They went to Coachella congrats to them! Here is another example. “Oh all of Blackpink’s solo projects flopped, just look at Jungkook he has more streams than any of them” or “Rosé ONLY had success because of Bruno Mars, [insert favorite idol here] deserves her success” again like hello??? It broke so many records and is a big win for the Kpop community as a whole! One final example id like to mention is the Jennie situation. Jennie keeps being accused of a lazy dancer, then blinks act just as childish back and start comparing Blackpink’s achievements to Twice and other groups! I’ve only been a Kpop fan for a bit over a year, but I still can’t understand why every group’s fans behave like Swifties??? (No hate to swifties love u all 🫰but it gets my point across). Why do stans constantly compare their favorite idol to another? Are you a fan of them because they have a bunch of achievements or are you a fan of them because of their music? Anyways, sorry if this sounds like a rant, I was just genuinely curious. This isn’t meant to be a jab towards any group, but rather meant in general. I don’t mean any ill will towards any kpop fans at all, I just wanted to talk about this one recurring thing I kept seeing on social media. submitted by /u/Mental-Contract-1058 [link] [comments]
