Which K-pop groups do you think have “become stuck in one musical style”?

kpop groups: korean, korean-american, sometimes members from neighboring countries. koreaboo groups: on the rise (i.e. katseye) because they want on the k-wave. they want their own representation in korean representation, it is closer to colonization than diversity. every country should share their culture and have success. foreigners moving from their own cultures, placing another culture on their own, and forcing a place in a different culture for their own financial gain and fame is colonization. let korea be korean. your culture is good too, so instead of using korea and koreans to make yourself be big, you can use the potential you think you have (or in reality what you want korea to give to you) and bring attention and admiration to your own country. try to mimic what kpop groups do that they grew up influenced around to try to appeal to the market. or just try and be the main character y/n and think telling everyone your sexuality is going to change the nation. it's arrogant and self-centered. you can be beautiful, talented, and successful in a country you don't need to constantly fight against because it's not for you. not every culture is for everyone. don't force yourself into it because you brainwashed yourself into thinking the only way you can be beautiful or be successful is by being a kpop idol. let koreans have representation. submitted by /u/Careful_Ice4759 [link] [comments]

I would like to preface this by saying I’m not a Blink, just someone who has been in the kpop scene since 2013 & has listened to their music before. I don’t know specific personal details about them as a group/individuals, just whatever has been on twt or tt throughout the years. I’m indifferent about their music/performances/appearances. I do NOT want anyone to take this as a chance to hate on them, this is not the place for you. I don’t believe in unnecessarily hating on something if you personally don’t like it, it’s easy to just move on and find something you like without spreading hate. ————— now on to the actual discussion point lmao: Kpop groups need to seriously consider having openers & such for their tours (doesn’t have to be all stops, just having some would be enough of a start lol) several groups have done it before, usually with a group pre-debut/debuted under the same company (Ateez with Xikers, they did this perfectly). it’s also just very common in the rest of music industry to have other acts open for the main act, even big names have opening acts. I’ve been seeing a bunch of hate on Blackpink’s tour. People are always complaining about their performances, they also don’t have a lot of music released as a group, though I think they’re in the middle of releasing work (not sure, pls correct if wrong), members ofc should have their solo stages too. ppl often mention about a lack of energy, but I’ve seen Blinks say it’s for medical reasons and such. I think it would be pretty beneficial for them to tour with an opening group. who? maybe the new group that YG is currently planning to debut, I think that would be refreshing for everyone, and bc the only other active gg in the company is Babymonster. I don’t think they should have a soloist open, but a couple of soloists opening isn’t the worst option. the kpop companies don’t seem like they’re about to release collabs with each other so that option, while a nice concept (& tbh a lot of capitalistic potential), isn’t realistic. depending on the country, they can switch it up too, it doesn’t NEED to be a kpop artist. Having another act might give them a bit more of a break. it’s also not like the act is a waste of concert time, fans would be aware of it when purchasing tickets. I just think kpop tours (& tbh most tours in general) have reached a little stagnant point (which makes sense considering the state of the world), there is just a lot of lost potential. hi everyone, im a little scared to post this on here but i don’t really have that many friends who are into k-pop and i was hoping for some kind advice and encouragement. I’ve recently just gotten into kpop this year, and it has completely changed my life. As someone who has struggle deeply with my mental health, kpop and its community have greatly impacted my everyday life so much and i finally feel like i belong somewhere. My favorite groups are BTS, TXT, and ENHYPEN :) These groups have healed me so much the thought of any of them disbanding anytime soon is so scary to me idk what i would do without them 😭 I know im being very dramatic and should just focus on the present day but i just can’t stop thinking about the fear of my favorite idols not being together anymore and releasing music. I've always Saw fans complained about the lack of promo that their faves got because their song flopped on the charts and blamed the company for that like always. But the truth is some songs are destined to flopped no matter how much they promoted it because people just didn't liked it. wanted to start a discussion about a topic that I think a lot of long-time collectors or fans of older groups have probably thought about: What does collecting look like for an idol who has completely left the industry and has gone private? I'm specifically thinking of former idols who have retired from public life like no social media, no new releases, no public activities, essentially living as a private citizen. I've been collecting merch for Ex Loona Ex Loossemble hyeju for a while, and while I cherish the pieces as a memory of their time as an artist and a part of my own history as a fan, a few thoughts keep popping up: The merch (albums, photocards, etc.) are now truly historical artifacts. Do you feel like you are curating a small museum of a time that is completely over? Since there will be no new official merch, do you feel an extra drive to try and complete your collection of their active years? Or does the realization that their public life is over make you want to slow down? Have any of you noticed the prices for their items (especially rare ones) change? Sometimes they drop as general interest fades, but sometimes they spike because the supply is permanently capped. This is the big one for me. Since they're a private citizen now, do you feel any change in the way you talk about your collection, or do you take extra care not to use their current name/private info if you happen to know it? The connection is now purely to their past public persona. I know every fan's relationship with their bias is personal, but I'm really curious about the community's thoughts. The group returned with Style during the summer, which was something I could’ve gotten out of my head. I’m excited to see what this 1st mini album brings to the table as this group continues to grow musically and artistically. Focus - Hearts2Hearts Focus Focus opens up the project with a funky dance beat that blends wonderfully with the sweet vocals this group delivers. I love the groovy nature of the tune as it’s been stuck in my head like craxy today. The vocals blend together to craft beautiful harmonies that complement the vibe. The hook has been growing on me over the day as I’ve been returning to it thanks to the addictive melody in the backing track. The members work wonderfully with this groovy sound, as it does an excellent job opening up the album, and this song does a great job getting me excited for the rest of the album. I enjoy the synths in the instrumental, making this track a little magical at times, but not overpowering the vocals or the funky vibe. The hook is another excellent section that is also a thing that keeps popping up in my head. During the bridge, we get a little rap that adds to the vibe and is another favorite section of mine. I feel like this group fits perfectly with this new jack swing sound that keeps me coming back for more. I’m glad they released Pretty Please as a pre-release cause it’s been something I've been having on repeat like crazy. We do get a little rap in the second verse, which adds to the overall vibe. The hook continues to grow on me with each listen as I’m enjoying the groove that production delivers with the vocals driving that section. The bridge is another section that hits hard as the vocals get stronger. Flutter is another tune that fits this album perfectly, adding to the record's overall vibe. The melody is the highlight of the instrumental. The bridge is a sweet section that does a good job of helping to close out the project. I find Blue Moon a perfect tune to end this project. Blue Moon might be a little uninteresting in the instrumental, but the melody and vocals make up for that, helping to close out the album.
