Who are the “stan attractors” in your favorite group and who was your entry point?

Every kpop group seems to have at least one member who’s the “stan attractor”, the one who makes non fans stop and go “okay… who is THAT?” Sometimes they’re the visual, the main dancer, or just someone with a really magnetic stage presence or unique personality. They’re not always the one you end up biasing longterm, but they often open the door for new fans. So I’m curious, in your favorite group: who do you think are the “stan attractors” for the general public and why? who was your first hook into the group, and did you end up stanning them or someone else? submitted by /u/ResponsibleUsual7536 [link] [comments]

1.129. crazy coincidence I noticed with my ult groups

I am a multistan (I stan 12 groups!) and I have four ults. my ults are shinee, stray kids, seventeen, and kiiikiii. These groups are all from different labels and generally have nothing to do with each other, but I came to a realization that they all debuted in spring on or around the 25th. Shinee debuted on May 25th, Stray Kids debuted on March 25th, Seventeen on May 26th, and KiiiKiii on March 24th. I stan so many groups, but these groups in particular are so special to me that I cannot even explain it. I think it's all a coincidence, but it's still so weird that all of these groups that have had such a profound impact on me all have similar debut dates. They're not even from the same labels, generations, or have similar sounds, which makes it even wilder to me lol. Again, just a strange coincidence I thought was really funny haha submitted by /u/ReyjynJello5908 [link] [comments]

1.130. why is no one getting the point of GNARLY?

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

what i want to talk about is the controversy behind the 'tesla' line. not only is the line followed by an 'eugh' adlib (as in ew), but the whole point of the song is a silly way to show the double meaning behind the word 'gnarly'. this is shown clearly later in the song. the lyrics say, "you're gnarly, i'm not." which is using the word 'gnarly' as a negative connotation. directly after that line, these lyrics follow: "jealous of my mansion? yeah, the view is --- gnarly" this is obviously using the word 'gnarly' as a positive connotation. also, in the very beginning of the song, the lyrics say, "you could describe everything with one single word, you know?" this literally sets the tone for the entire song and basically what it's about. i got really tired of everyone bashing on the lyrics because of this one misconception of the meaning behind the lyrics, so i wanted to give my 2 cents :) while i do agree with all the opinions about the dance and song being innappropriate for yoonchae because she is underage, i do believe the lyrics in itself are just a fun and silly representation of words with double meaning. thanks! submitted by /u/_astriiid_ [link] [comments]

1.132. I hate that suddenly everyone is liking Kpop

Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy when people give Kpop a choice but it literally kills me inside when it's just randos talking about some "My bias is Thanos and my favourite Kpop song is Golden, Sodapop and APT 🤗" Like hello?? Didn't we used to get bullied for liking Kpop? Again I'm not mad that Kpop Demon Hunters is doing well, it's a great movie and I love it! But for the love of Itzy please stick to your Dubai chocolate and Labubu! Also I'm gonna crash out if these new people set us years back with some "Saranghae 🥰" after watching one kdrama submitted by /u/chalantbtch [link] [comments]

If you were to assemble a kpop band with your choice of 5 singers, which 5 kpop singers would you pick? My 5 picks are: GDragon Kim Woosung (from "The Rose" band) D.O. (from EXO) BIBI Kim YunA (from "Jaurim"band, I know she is a bit old but god, her vocal is beautiful) submitted by /u/2024ew [link] [comments]

1.141. What songs, mv, dance, stage performances make you crush ?

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

You know this feeling, you see a group of attractive idols doing a sweet performance with a lovely song, you got the butterfly in your stomach... which on of these songs give you this effect? Personally, I really feel this when I watch bangbang with Dalshabet ❤️ 1) The song is cute and lovely 2) Dalshabet members are really like "the gorgeous girl's next door" 3) Their cowgirl style (a little in the mv but more obvious in the stage performances) it's like... all these pretty ladies in their respective attractive cowgirl outfit are just so cute !! 4) The way they smile, really beautiful!! 5) Most important, this meaning at the beginning of the mv. A girl knowing that a boy crush for her, thinking he's to slow to approach her, so she decides to make the first move, I LOVE how the gun shot symbolise the girl saying her feelings to a guy, like a gunshot on the roof, you'll get shocked, like the other girl are shocked in the mv but slowly stand again getting more and more confident for the bank heist until they get happy and totally into it, the same way a guy would be shy after his crush admit her feelings, but the guy would slowly get more confident until he feels comfortable and happy with the girl, I find it ao cute !! submitted by /u/Cestlavieenrose999 [link] [comments]

1.142. What's a phrase you see that's just so kpop stan

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Sorta in the same cursed bracket of that tumblr fandom circa 2012-2016 era where people were saying shit like "potterheads grab your wands!!!!", what's one of those weird hyperspecific phrases that's just so kpop stan? Like there's typical celebrity glazing and defending, but something super specific is definitely the "[member] would burn you alive to keep [other member op was probably dunking on] warm" reply. This is not to be over derogatory abt it or anything but it's interesting what sorta vernacular comes out of microcommunities like this. It's occurring to me in real time I could just scroll through kpoopheads for these but I'd rather know what everyone's favorite is. submitted by /u/SomeRaceHorseName [link] [comments]

1.143. Would ITZY Queens have been even more popular? 🤔

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I love the Queens (So much that I have an ITZY tattoo). To me, best dancers in the business other than Twice, amazing vocals and visuals. Top all rounders for sure. LEGENDARY debut and comedy gold. But, I can't help to think that they would be even bigger if not for COVID. Not saying COVID didn't hurt some other idols, but ITZY was right then. What do you guys think? 💕 submitted by /u/JaySwizzle1984 [link] [comments]

Blackpink “Boombayah”, “Ice Cream”, “How You Like That”, “Kill this Love” Soshi “Mr. Taxi”, “Lionheart”, “Oh” Le Sserafim “Crazy”, “Antifragile” Big Bang “Bang Bang Bang” Super Junior “Sorry Sorry” 2NE1 “I Am The Best” Newjeans “Super Shy” Illit “Magnetic” Rose “Apt” Jennie “Like Jennie” Huntrix “Golden” (these two were in the halftime dance show) And some others I didn’t recognize. I only got there about 10 minutes before kickoff unfortunately so there were probably more beforehand. They definitely had a classics appreciator on the staff though, was nice they didn’t just pull from the latest hits. The rest of the match atmosphere was kind of a disappointment though, I was hoping there’d be a dance zone or mini games like they sometimes have, or even a kpop fan meetup, but nothing like that. Still a nice experience though. submitted by /u/dettret [link] [comments]
