I’ve been thinking about this for a while, but it really hit me recently watching some of his interviews and variety content: Has anyone else felt like Sunoo has been slowly coming out to us—especially in 2025? It’s always kind of been one of those unspoken things, like “yeah, we know,” but because of how conservative South Korea still is, he obviously can’t just come out and say it. That said, I really feel like he’s been gently stepping more into his truth, in ways that feel both intentional and deeply personal. And it’s been beautiful to witness. In multiple video interviews, Sunoo has highlighted Troye Sivan and Lady Gaga as major musical influences. Both artists are celebrated queer icons—Troye as an openly gay singer, and Gaga for her strong LGBTQ+ advocacy. These aren’t random names—they’re powerful figures in queer music and culture. It just felt like a soft nod, like he was saying, “I see you” and maybe even “I see myself in them.” He's also been stepping more into himself this year, trying new looks, but still staying true to his image. It’s not just about fashion or a music taste—it’s how comfortable he seems now compared to earlier years. The way he interacts with fans, how he speaks about himself, his body language... something’s shifted. His graceful posture, playful facial expressions, hand gestures, and his ease with "feminine" aesthetics. It’s not just because he’s ‘femme’—that doesn’t automatically mean gay. It’s about the freedom he seems to feel in not conforming. The interpretation isn’t just "he’s sassy so he must be gay," but rather "he doesn’t suppress traits many queer people are taught to hide." When it comes to his stage presence, Sunoo delivers with a kind of fluid confidence that doesn’t feel like he’s "acting sexy" for women—he just is. Compared to other idols who seem to perform a "straight flirt" persona, his delivery feels more authentically expressive and not gender-targeted. He tends to choose outfits that defy masculinity norms even in casual content. He often gravitates toward melancholy, emotional, or gender-neutral songs during karaoke or challenges. Also, his voice. He speaks in that higher, softer, almost sugary tone many gay men do. To be clear: I’m not trying to “out” him or make definitive claims. If Sunoo is queer, that’s for him to share on his terms. But I do think we’re seeing something real: a young person navigating a conservative culture, a public spotlight, and still finding ways to quietly assert who he is. If he is slowly coming out in his own way, I hope he knows how many of us see him, support him, and are proud of him. Thoughts? Have you noticed any other moments that felt like this too? submitted by /u/Fun_Permission1464 [link] [comments]

P.S: This isn’t one of those things where I pick the most upvoted comment and put it on the image, it’s just a discussion prompt everyday! submitted by /u/LackOfDad [link] [comments]

Idk I just think kpop fans sometimes learn a word, phrase or just anything and start to use/apply it everywhere regardless of the relevancy or accurate meaning. Here are some of the words/phrasing : Infantilizing Parasocial Plagiarism Payola Fraud Words from aave : Khia Korean words: Nugu Ijbol (Sometimes they use and mock Korean words and call it ironic) There are many other words but they might get censored submitted by /u/Gisntd [link] [comments]
I love songs that are repetitive and I think if it's a title track then let it be catchy. But I saw a lot on online hate to repetitive songs this week, and I wonder what title tracks don't follow that route? submitted by /u/Live_Diamond6030 [link] [comments]

Oh this will get hate. I follow a lot of groups on tiktok and have noticed that when ever a group makes a new post, engenes are the first ones to comment, and its always negative and toxic. No matter what group it is, mostly on the nct, txt, ateez or even seventeen accounts. They even went after 5 gen groups who just debuted. I know all groups have fans like this but the enhypen fans are really doing to much right know. I don't even hate the group, i really like their music but the fandom got really toxic over the years and espacily on tiktok. Instead of posting as quick as possiple to hate on other groups on their account, they should take that energy in voting so their group would finally get more music show wins and more awards. submitted by /u/Injeolmie_04 [link] [comments]
Prismfilter, shannon and baekho produced for this so I naturally came across it lol. I thought it was funny. Haven't checked them out yet submitted by /u/yuripinwheel [link] [comments]
With the release of Katseye’s (Not Kpop, I know) Gabriela featuring Jessica Alba, it got me thinking, who would you want to see in a Kpop MV and in which group? Here’s some of mine: Before, I thought of Olivia Hussey in a New Jeans MV because she kinda looks like Minji. I’m thinking of a concept about youth. With Olivia reminiscing her early days while the girls are looking at her or something. But that will not happen because Olivia has passed away (May God rest her soul) and the court rulings. 💀 Since Hugh Jackman appeared in SKZ, why not have another Aussie like Chris Hemsworth or Steve Irwin’s son in a Stray Kids video. Or do the same energy and have a Nicole Kidman cameo in an Nmixx MV. (For Lily) Conan O’ Brien and Steven Yeun in a TWICE MV. I need their reunion. It’s been 10 years since they last met! Yeah, so what’s yours? submitted by /u/OptionSpare718 [link] [comments]
It's something I've noticed, that point where they're getting more exposure, new records, etc. It's at the same time that fans feel a lot of changes compared to what they enjoyed about them as a group, and although they're happy with what they're achieving, they're no longer enjoying their current songs and albums as much. Is it because their music has become more generic? Is it because they're generally losing interest in the group? Have they strayed too far from what they wanted to represent? submitted by /u/Someonehihi [link] [comments]
I want to start this off by saying that I mean this with absolutely no hate towards the members or blinks. This isn't me trying to bring hate towards BLACKPINK and if anything I say is seen as offensive or disrespectful towards the members, please let me know! BLACKPINK has had a very large fanbase since their debut and the group is one of the most recognizable Kpop acts and one of the most successful! While I'm not a fan, I can see the appeal in their concepts and they have some pretty good songs as well! But one thing I've always wondered is how they managed to maintain such a large fan base when they don't have a large discography, especially for a group who has been around for almost ten years. Is there a certain something that keeps fans engaged with the group despite this? Its just something that I've been wondering recently since they're having a comeback soon and their fanbase seems to still be thriving! Again, I mean no disrespect with this question and its simply one made out of curiosity ☺️ submitted by /u/belovedmoonriver [link] [comments]

They often incorporate Sailor Moon poses into their choreography (Magical Girl is their concept, afterall) and I really love it. The hand choreo is so intricate and consistent, and Do the Dance ramps it up to 11. It's in all their choreos, but I clipped my favorite poses from the Studio Choom performances submitted by /u/SageSageofSages [link] [comments]
He's so beautiful. He's a great leader. Why DKB is so underrated? I watched them on Peak Time & he's so cool ✨ Anyway, we should appreciate D1 & Lee Hangyul (Polarix) 💜 They're beautiful human beings. That's all I want to say. Thanks for reading this appreciation post 🤗 submitted by /u/LazyProfile2945 [link] [comments]

I have seen so many people saying how they should stop with re reption in their songs and that it becomes boring. In my eyes if they do they kinda loose illit. There are not many groups currently in kpop with a consistent concept that don't trend jump all the time. The only girl groups that come in mind is Triple S and Illit. Both groups are able to have recognizable elements and vocal styles that even if they do trendy songs it still sounds like them. Triple S Lalalas and illits repetition and video game sounds is exactly that. I love groups growing and developing their sounds but completely throughing away what makes them recognisable it will be a disservice to their discography. Just wanted to express my thoughts let me know what you guys think on the subject! ☺️ submitted by /u/PerfectPassenger1712 [link] [comments]
