Cortis GO!! Could reach a new heights of streams right now if they just released it on streaming platforms sooner not 2 weeks after the song already got so many recognition and go viral but people can't stream the song so they just used youtube audio or download it ilegally. This came from a western pop culture thread and I find a lot of these subreddits are ready to talk shit about eastern industries in a pin drop all the while they deal with the same things like artists going broke and being slaves to companies due to advanced deals and 360 deals or managers running off with their stuff but because it's foreigners it's all the more vile. You also have people who have committed crimes like Mark Whalberg, Travis Scott and Justin Timberlake with nipplegate yet they still have jobs or amount of famous people who are seemingly psy ops too like ?? how is kpop a dark cult when people like sexyy red, drake, tom cruise or joe rogan exist bro 😭 there's literally a hollywood to american military pipleline where they promote neo imperialism through the United States Department of Defense and the film industry of the United States. I'm asking about those groups / group members who are not so active anymore. I know music industry is really tough, it's hard to make money there, so how do those artists get by when they haven't released anything in the past 2-3 years? I'm not talking about groups like Suju or 2pm, whose members have acting jobs, variety shows, and solo careers. For example, Infinite and Highlight. Half of the members do not have solo albums, they only did 1 tour in the past 2 years? Can 1 tour last them 2 years of living expenses? And what about other groups: TeenTop, Mblaq, SS501, 2am, half of ZEA, most of BlockB? What do they do for a living? And then there's the 1st gen: most of Shinhwa, half of GOD, most of Sechskies, half of HOT, and many others who were not nearly as big. Do they just live off their savings? I know Minwoo of Shinhwa had enough saving that would've lasted him a long time but he got scammed (or blackmailed) and now he has nothing other than occasional show appearances and I don't see how he can support himself (and his new family) just with that. I honestly feel bad for these groups of people. They started very young, at the time when contract terms were very unfavorable for the artists, they were basically only trained to perform on stage, most were not given lessons in songwriting/producing, and now that they already past their prime, I wonder what options they have to make a living outside the industry or in the back-end operation of the entertainment/music industry. Most of these guys are the breadwinners of their families, too. Loona during 2021 was soooo good. PTT ate down so hard. I was blasting that everyday. You best know it. Funeral ? playing PTT . Near death experience ? PTT on full blast in the ambulance. I would meat ride them til the day i die. But , boom next thing you know it I woke up to CHUU LEAVING? AND THEN A BLOCKBERRY SCANDAL? i've noticed something kind of weird. in most fandoms, fanart is everywhere. TV shows, movies, even bands like Oasis or The Beatles have people making silly chibis, comics, portraits, etc. but in kpop spaces, fanart feels almost nonexistent (at least in ones im active in). i have friends in huge fandoms and i still don't see fanarts. sure, there are artists out there, but it’s nowhere near as visible as in other fandoms. why do you think that is? is it because the fandom culture leans more on fancams/edits than illustrations? because people are afraid of backlash for stylizing idols (i've seen this happen a while ago)? submitted by /u/friedsoyabeanpatty [link] [comments]
