Why are so many people against lip syncing?

I hear a lot of the time that an idols main job is to be a singer, and that most of the time the idols can’t even do that but I disagree. Idols are more performers than anything, many can give you a ballad here and there but most of the draw, in my opinion, comes from the more dynamic choreographies as well as more animated stage presence on stage compared to say some western artists. I bring this up because while some idols have trained extensively to be able to sing great live while dancing, many idols as we have see. Have debuted with minimal training. I feel like idols aren’t being worked to the bone in a companies trainee life for 5-10 years anymore which is great for the idol, they can achieve their dreams at a more realistic rate but obviously their proficiency in some skills may not be as high if they were a trainee for say 6 months to 2 years. I think it’s perfectly acceptable to lip sync and adjust the amount based on the choreography. Like, for example, when izna performed Golden from kpop demon hunters at kcon LA, they performed an entirely original choreography that was kind of explosive to me: lots of jumping, highs and lows etc. And that paired with the level of difficulty that Golden as a song is in and of itself, in that situation I find it appropriate to lip sync to not degrade the performance aspect of the stage. And I think many idols encounter this often whether it is a cover or their own song. But when idols do things like this they’re met with so many negative comments and to me some fans don’t seem to live in reality because idols are not robots. Of course I agree that if the choreo is basic enough or they’re standing for a ballad, singing live with a backtrack is the bare minimum fans could ask for in a performance but I feel like regardless of the song or stage, if an idol is lip syncing, there’s going to be someone trying to crucify them but to me I think it’s reasonable to use at times, that’s why I’m feel like I’m missing something. Is lip syncing truly that great of an offense? submitted by /u/Prize-Square9817 [link] [comments]

Ew trump. I do not support any misogynistic, white nationalist, incel, hitler-like (esp. Musk), racists at all and neither does this sub and apparently neither does reddit as a site as a whole. He stands against everything Kpop stands for which is an art form from a formerly colonized people from a country that is rising up against colonialism and hatred. Anyone who comments anything negative to this, or tries to defend that orange guy will be banned permanently. Go somewhere else, we don't want your lower kind here. 1. K-pop stans have parasocial illness. Let's talk about it.

  • reddit.com language

As I said. Yes, many kpop stans have parasocial illness. (I just made this up idk if it's a real word) First off I just wanna say I've been in a lot of fandoms all over the world. Before you start saying "this isn't only an issue in K-pop!" Yes it's not only in K-pop, but it's A LOT MORE common in K-pop than other fandoms. I'm just genuinely curious. Do people not care about music anymore? Genuinely, why is everyone so curious about idols and their lives? It's crazy how much that matters to K-pop stans it's almost like they wanna date them. Turns out they probably do. Like honestly if you look at Beyoncé. Her life is so private to the point that she doesn't even do interviews anymore, it's probably been more than 10 years since her last one. She drops a music video drops an album and goes to tour. submitted by /u/StonDelRey [link] [comments]

2. SOMEONE REPORRTED SOOBIN TO ICE !!?

Wtf is kpop even about now. Why would you do that to someone just because you dont like a kpop group. Stan culture is getting crazy nowadays. 😭. Apparently TXT were in USA for a tour and that gave that person a chance to report Soobin as an "Illegal immigrant" submitted by /u/eyesonaeri [link] [comments]

3. ITZY are one of, if not, the most consistent idols and performers of 4th gen.

  • reddit.com language

The girls have never had a criticised performance before and as a person who's had the priviledge of going to many girl group tours, Itzy's Born To Be tour was, by far, the best. Their energy, chemistry, fanservice was off the charts. And the production!!! The live band, the stage set up, the props were just... Amazing. The girls danced like crazy, it was mesmirising seeing them in real life 😭😭😭 They also all made sure to speak a bit of the language of the countries they were in, and their english was amazing. The solo stages were gorgeous, too (although they didn't perform all of the solo songs live), and they somehow made the stage feel full even at times when there were no backup dancers there. Despite their success "wavering" for the past 3 years, they've kept up the energy they've had since rookies. And their personality on camera and in fanmeets, fansigns ect are just so, so lovely and funny. They are one of the big 3/4 groups that have the least amount of scandals and the "scandals" they do have are rarely anything serious. Their consistency is amazing and they never seem to slack off. I think this should be the bare minimum, but in reality, the industry's bare minimum is literally in hell. Just wanted to praise the girls since they've been at a lot of events recently and they're performing like they're fighting to debut lol Itzy ❤️❤️❤️ submitted by /u/Gold_Meaning3688 [link] [comments]

7. ILLIT deserves the biggest apology.

  • 2 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

ILLIT deserves a big apology. They have false accusations and plagiarism claims of copying NewJeans, in terms of aesthetic, concept and actions, claims by Min Hee-jin, associated with NewJeans. They suffer bullying and harassment from fans because of those accusations, they are constantly facing harsh criticism and harassment from NewJeans fans or related fanbases, including being called out publicly, losing brand deals, etc. They are not well protected by their company. ILLIT’s agency (HYBE & Belift) has not adequately protected them from the backlash, or helped at least to clear their name. They are getting reputational damage and emotional harm. Because of the accusations and the public disputes, they are losing opportunities, suffering stress, and having their public image tarnished even before any formal resolution. This is NOT fair, since ILLIT didn't do any of the things they’re being blamed for. There’s no proof of wrongdoing or evidence that shows all of this is true, they are being treated as guilty by public opinion. There should be accountability, and obviously, an apology. This is also their agencies fault, they have the responsibility to manage claims, protect their artists, and clarify misinformation, and... they don’t. In resume... all this damage for no reason is real (emotional, reputational, commercial), an apology IS needed. ILLIT needs and deserves justice. submitted by /u/witchvamplady [link] [comments]
