I was curious about what my personal Kpop playlist would show about song lengths over the 10 years I've been listening to Kpop, but wowww did I not realise that the short song epidemic has hit so hard over the last few years! I mean, I knew we were in crisis lol, but I didn't realise that my 2016 playlist would have a grand total of ONE (1) Kpop song in it that was under 3 minutes long. We used to be a COUNTRY, y'all!!! Some details about the graph: this is a basic thing I threw together that only includes songs from my playlist, so it's not 100% indicative of recent trends-- but it gives a pretty good idea lol. I've listened to over 300 Kpop artists in this playlist, so it's not like I'm only picking and choosing certain artists for this. In fact, I tend to like songs with actual bridges over songs without them-- so things are probably actually worse than this, lol. The years on the y axis represent release years, not the year in which I saved the song. The number in the brackets is the number of songs from that year that I have saved. The bars are calculated through percentages. Swipe to the second image for the exact percentage numbers. Anyway. Let's all commiserate together about what we have lost :') (Also posted to the Kpoppers sub.) submitted by /u/petrichor-pixels [link] [comments]

Sometime i saw a discussion or random comment, there's a perception that Treasure & NMIXX are “failed group from big company” Personally, I don’t think they’re failed groups at all. And I’m sure a lot of ppl would agree. But why do some ppl view them as a failed group from big company? because i keep noticing this takes a lot. submitted by /u/Difficult_Bit_3025 [link] [comments]

It’s a Korean-made game where you pick between two options (like foods, characters, celebrities, whatever) in a tournament bracket until one winner is left. Apparently it’s super popular in Korea, and I get why — it’s way too fun. Has anyone else seen this outside Korea? https://preview.redd.it/s6q2sqegdqmf1.png?width=1276&format=png&auto=webp&s=e062c1102a89ae907e938929b2fa4af28b43f330 https://albbano.co.kr/en/game/worldcup/start/4/8/ submitted by /u/enzedong00 [link] [comments]

So, i've been a Stay since 2021, and ive been always pretty active in the fandom, but due to personal reasons i took a break for few months in 2023,, apparently the exact same time lots of shite has gone down. I heard some things here and there, because i still wanted to be somewhat uptodate with them, and i know it was possibly THE worst year for the kids,, but im not entirely familiar with the entire story. And online i can only find bits and pieces, but not enough to put the puzzle pieces together. (I also saw ppl mention the Island Ep2 drama, which i also dont entiiirely understand). Like Han having a horrible mental health situation back then, where he disappeared for a day?? Don't have all the details about this either but I was kinda there when it happened?? ALSO, apparently Chanlix (platonic) had their divorce era then?? Which explains to me now why theyre not as close anymore as i knew them to be,, but im still confused on what happened. Hella sad tho for the aussie bros :((( Although lately theyve seemed to be fine?? But yknow,, can be a facade... I see a lot of people knowing about the Era but at the same time just not wanting to talk about it because how bad it was. (Which is fair) I appreciate any and all info, video essay, explanation, article etc Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/Raethanadiel [link] [comments]
