For me, it would have to be "Dimple" by BTS. '[That dimple is] illegal (illegal). [No, it’s dangerous] oh yes. So I call you illegirl (illegirl).' ILLEGIRL?? Or, "God's Menu" by Stray Kids. You cannot go in depth with discussions surrounding ANYTHING because people will accuse you for being a miserable hateful wench who try to ruin people's lifes. One insane thing I've noticed about kpop communities is that when you're criticizing a group (in terms or marketin, sound, concept, ANYTHING) you have to end or start your sentence with "I'm not hating on them I promise". Like people have to be spoonfed useless information or else they'll get rabid. submitted by /u/Chocopieluv [link] [comments]
Welcome back to my K-Pop complications guys! As you can see, this post basically ask about your fav K-Pop MV/s, so please just share your honest opinion. Mine are "Brought The Heat Back" and "Bad Desire"- ENHYPEN. For Brought The Heat Back, I think the scenes are really cool and all the members look good. For Bad Desire, they camera quality looks so awesome, all the scenes are wonderful, and the members look so hot. (Outside is going to be my fav MV soon bc the teaser looks so amazing) submitted by /u/Specific_Cake_5410 [link] [comments]
In the very last chorus of "Home", BTS' 5th track off of their EP "Map of the soul: Persona" (released April 12, 2019), the vocal line members (Jin, Jimin, V, Jungkook) sing: "It’s been a long time, mi casa (my home) With you I just feel rich I’ve returned, hi mi casa (다녀왔어 Hi Mi Casa) You had it turned on, your switch Yeah Even without saying anything, it’s indeed comfortable It was because you were here that it became my home" "다녀오겠습니다" Is a Korean phrase that literally means "I'll go and come back" while "다녀왔습니다" is "I've returned after going away". They are common expressions used when someone is leaving a place where they "belong", emotionally or physically (thank you doolset for context). BTS have used both regularly over the years, usually from planes as they leave for their tours and trips, and in this song, it's laced throughout as they greet the listener after having been away for some time. With military enlistment feeling much the same, it is with this song that ARMY plans to welcome BTS back in June 2025, as Suga, the last member still enlisted gets officially discharged, and we have all seven members of BTS back together since their enlistment era started with the eldest, Jin's on 13th December 2022 (it would have been a total of 2.5 years) So why this song? Besides the title "Home" feeling the most apt, the song itself holds a lot of meaning for BTS and ARMY, and I thought I would elaborate on that in this post. In the Vlive RM did talking about "behind the scenes" stories for their "MOTS: Persona" album, he explains the album's theme: "For me, 'Persona' is the social self. It represents our social mask. A mask could be either good or bad. It is what we present to the outside world as we lead our social and economic life." "Many asked us, 'So what incredible and grand message will you send after this?' (after the 'Love Yourself' era)....do we have to talk about something more grand?.....we decided that it was time to find and know ourselves. Instead of grand things, maybe it's time to talk about the smaller things" "But isn't this for ARMYs? How does this connect back to the fans? I thought about it myself.......But for me, my persona is RM or BTS. That's my social mask and my self. But the mask and persona itself is ARMY. BTS = ARMY. ARMY = BTS. RM = ARMY. There's something I got through the persona or the mask. To talk about all the shadows and good things I've gained, I couldn't help but talk about ARMY." "So except for 'Intro: Persona' and the last track 'Dionysus', from track 2 to 6 --> 'Boy with luv', 'Mikrokosmos', 'Make it right', 'Home', 'Jamais vu', those tracks are our tribute to ARMY, or a serenade to you........writing the lyrics therefore came very organically to me, with a single sentiment.......the best and most beautiful words I can ever think of for the people I'm grateful to on my knees, those who have made me where I am now.....the lyrics on this album are more important than any other album." About the song "Home" specifically, he elaborates further: "Anyways, as the one who made this song, it's embarrassing to say, but 'Home' means you (ARMY). Wherever you are in the world, the place where you are is our home. That's the place we should go back to. We will return. The one who wasn't welcomed in 'Make it right' will go back 'home'." This is why the song holds so much significance for BTS and ARMYs. As a personal interpretation, from what he said here and the lyrics, the song feels like it describes BTS venturing into unfamiliar spaces as their fame rose in the west, getting disillusioned, tested, and consciously making the decision to focus on their fans and nothing else. The members, way back in 2019, claimed us as their home, a place to come back to no matter where they've ventured. And now, after being apart in the literal sense for close to 3 years, they get to come back to all those who've waited for them, their mi casa and say "I've returned". The song's lyrics itself feel so apt and are beautifully written, so I thought I'd highlight some parts (translated by doyoubangtan) "I'm exhausted Guess what? I just wanna go home" "Because of the crazy fluttering of my heart, I wasn't even able to say goodbye Yeah I'm going out baby The entire world's my home" "Oh yeah I did it, me shine with flashin lights Got lotta friends, a tranquil space of mine Yeah I remember, a time I thought I'd be able to do anything I saw the ocean, yeah, even before opening this door" "As if all things would be possible if I opened that door As if I was going to show the world how it's done I left the house (In the hope all these dreams wouldn't end as a mirage)" "It's like the more I fill it, the more it becomes empty The more people I'm with, it's like I'm more alone Half closed eyes, a sleepless night The place where you are - That place is probably mi casa Turn it on earlier, your switch Even without saying anything, It'll be comfortable If you're there, anywhere and everywhere becomes my home" "The world thinks we've got everything The big house, big cars, big rings of dreams, Even if I have everything I wanted I still feel unfulfilled, an unfamiliar feeling to be felt by someone who has achieved everything But a door I exit because I have a place to return At the fork in the road, I keep remembering You, who knew me in my shabbiness In thinking of you. I'm able to smile A place where you are - That place is probably mi casa" So what are we doing exactly? I am not one of the organisers of this project or anything. Just another ARMY who deeply felt the sentiments of those who voted on this song for our welcome project and wanted to elaborate on it a bit. I'll link here the main activities that are being planned for this project, but it doesn't need to be anything too grand. For any ARMY who would like to join in this venture - it's basically to give the song "Home" an extra few listens this upcoming week, watch the excellent performances of it that we have (the one on Jimmy Fallon's show is excellent, but so is the one at KBS Gayo) perhaps buy it on Itunes if you have the resources to, and share your favorite parts of the song, lyrics or verses, stories you may have about it, so that we can all walk away with a little more appreciation for it. Every little gesture counts 💜 We finally have our seven men HOME, and man if that isn't cause for the biggest celebration! 🥳💜Big hugs and purple hearts to everyone who is feeling as happy as I am on this day. P.S: let's make sure to send extra love to Yoongi, to let him know how dearly we've missed him, and how happy we are to have him back. submitted by /u/zikachhakchhuak [link] [comments]

I was listening to Bad Desire today and I never realized it was only 2 mins and 21 seconds long which surprised because one of my heartaches with the last 2-3 Enhypen tracks is that they felt just a tad bid short. I still enjoy it through and through bec I really like Enhypen's soundscape. And I realized why it didn't feel as short — it has a "faux" bridge after the second chorus. So the way it's written is that it still has the elements of a longer song crammed under 3 mins. Another example I can think of is Stray Kids' God's Menu — 2:47 long but the combination of its unapologetically loud sonic appeal and the writing of the Felix' faux bridge before the final chorus drop makes it feel like a complete song. While yes, God's Menu is longer bec it has longer verses (+ a post chorus in the first chorus) but them being able to cram all those elements in under 3 mins is impressive songwriting So, anyone else got examples of songs under 3 mins that still give you a full song experience (Also, disclaimer I got nothing against songs w/o bridges it's just that in a songwriting structure they feel "incomplete" but that won't stop me from bopping my head if I deem it as a bop) submitted by /u/Lofijunkieee [link] [comments]

Is it just me that thinks the style of beat, lyrics, and maybe even concept sounds similar-ish to Kang Daniel? When I first heard it on tiktok this morning I thought it was like a mix of EDM like Ateez or older third gen. It feels so familiar but I can't place the concept. Definitely EDM so maybe even stray kids too. Then I showed it to my friend and she said it sounded similar to Kang Daniel. Any thoughts? Well.the title is basically self explanatory. I just want to hear your opinion because maybe I'm too closed off to the groups I stan to an extent that maybe I don't realize some groups's talent and music so I'd like to hear from you. Something might pique my interest. I'm new to kpop so I don't know too much about 4th Gen (I think im too late to catch up lol)hence why I'm asking for 5th gen (apologies). I'm currently liking Babymoster, Meovv and Izna. But feel free to recommend some more groups that are just as good. submitted by /u/Fast-Championship694 [link] [comments]

So when I see talks about boy groups big 3 during and for 3rd gen I always see people try to add seventeen and bring EBS up saying that it’s always been EBS, well yes in Korea. But in reality the big 3 for 3rd gen boy group during 3rd gen is and has always been got7 exo and bts. I was a fan during 3rd gen and those were the groups that were huge and I mean huge. Then wanna one debuted and got rlly big but unfortunately they were only a temporary group. But in terms of who had the biggest impact on third gen the groups are bts exo and got7. Seventeen fame really shot up after 3rd gen was over so post 2018. But carats i want to know why some people in your fandom try to change history and then get mad when 3rd gen kpop fans replace seventeen with got7 cus you’ll never hear a 3rd gen Stan leave got7 out of the big 3 its inly carats that do that, cus og kpop fans know submitted by /u/InnerClient5313 [link] [comments]
Concept and format wise. A single then full album, or just an EP? Concept, from im seeing by their solos i think they will be bolder and spicy maybe... Definitely we will be seeing some epic featurings. submitted by /u/rumiilua [link] [comments]
This will be one of my last genuine appreciation threads for a while so it breaks up my thoughts and doesn't seem to much like spamming or anything like that, I just have very long bus rides home and to volunteering so I tend to think and write the most during these times and this is the only forum I really am active in so please bare with me lol. At first from working out in my room and trying to learn the 'Save Me' by BTS Dance to now trying to dance as a workout in my apartment although I have improved on some parts it helps give me that admiration for idols in general. Especially when they have so many back to back comebacks all within the same year. But at the same time I've come to really enjoy choreography videos and dance practices in general, although I still personally love BoyFriends Witch, Obsession Era and the dance practice they did with the light up chairs I also love the iconic YG iKON/Winner Dance Practice Room (a little basis there in all fairness as I love those groups) but it wasn't up until to long ago I branched out from artists I followed and began watching other dance practices for different artists such as MCND's classic of their ICE AGE choreography. I used to write a lot for these two kpop sites and would write about various artists, independent artists, newly debuted and stuff like that. Although by far some of the most popular and talked about dancers are Taemin, Hoshi, Ten, San, Lee Know, Kai, Chaeyeon and many many others. (Sorry don't follow a ton of female artists). Each artist has their own style, from Astro's really tasteful yet brilliantly done choreo such as my fav All Night, to A.C.E's UnderCover (yes I'm worried for BK's back and their poor knees...), Clover or Callin, to songs and dance practices to ATEEZ and XIKERS footwork causing the lights to shake, TXT's unique take on choreography (their poor backs...), or even the style of DKB's dance practice and acro bactic practice from their pre debut are really cool. Sure not everyone is always going to be the best dancer all the time and not everyone in the group will suit dancing, but its really enjoyable to just see so many options for dance and dance practices now. Even if I do still truly watch Ten's solo choreography videos, you can really tell when some enjoy what they do and it makes it even better, but sometimes it doesn't always get as noticed to. Here are some of my favourites outside of just my ults (but please do check out 8TURN!) that I personally enjoy watching and want to highlight and my favourite releases so far~: (I may not know a ton of some of these suggestions but I do recommend them!, also I didn't realize how hard it was to dance in timberlands (those boots you see everywhere...) 1. So i wasnt really interested in the movie until yesterday until i listened to the songs preview Ahn hyo-seop the VA for Jinu i later found out the singing voice for RUMI , EJAE was a SM Trainee Then i watched the movie and i loved how k-pop was integrated into the movie.(not giving too much details as it would spoil the movie) The songs are chef-kiss and i was suprised to know The Blacklabel was involved in producing the songs How it's Done - The movie couldn't have started with a better opener Golden - The song is so beautiful. Where is this in k-pop Soda Pop - The song is still ringing in my head (reminds me of astro) Your idol - Not my usual jam, but the song fit the situation well Golden and Soda pop is something you don't expect from the black-label. How it's Done is also so amazing, I'm guessing its made for blackpink . Takedown - I loved the movie version more than TWICE's version. Free - The duet made my heart melt What it sounds like - ended the saga well Overall, the discography for this movie is top-tier, making me wonder where this sound is in recent K-pop. I would recommend this movie 100% and the soundtrack 200% submitted by /u/WindowDirect7966 [link] [comments]
I know and appreciate how incredibly lucky I am as an NYC-based kpop fan. I really do. But my goodness! The weather track record for outdoor kpop events I have attended in the past few years has been absurd! Started out with Jungkook on GMA. Massive t-storm that cut the whole thing short, he didn't even get to do a run through. Then Global Citizen with 3Racha and JK, it literally poured all day long. Ateez at Citi Field was rain delayed by multiple hours. Stray Kids at Citi Field had TWO rain delays! Is this the price we pay to get to have all these events in the first place? At least I am very well acquainted with Citi Field for next month's Ateez concert but for the love of it all, can we just get some nice weather! submitted by /u/hippogriffinthesky [link] [comments]
Earlier this week, Ateez Seonghwa was on Lee Mujin Service, and as someone who has been wanting people to appreciate his vocals more I was really happy. He has such a versatile voice, and with the song choices (including just his performance of Lemon Drop) it really came across well. One of the things Mujin pointed out was how Seonghwa could sound like different people, in the sense of being different characters, rather than just being a change in the vocal style. And that's one of my favorite things about Seonghwa's voice and performance style, so I'm glad that it came up. Speaking of performance style...that call with DPR Ian! Seonghwa has talked about him a lot and it was really sweet that the staff arranged a call with him. I think DPR Ian's comments to Seonghwa were lovely (he said that Seonghwa expresses darkness really well, that his expressions are beautiful and there aren't that many people like him) and it made me happy that someone Seonghwa admires told him this. I know fans say it all the time, but I think it's really another level of a confidence boost to hear it from someone you look up to. (I also wish he'd done a full cover of So Beautiful because the part he did sounded amazing!) Seonghwa mentioned that DPR Ian was doing 111% of what he wanted to do, and that makes me excited for if Seonghwa ever tries a solo project with that level of creativity and that kind of darkness that he's so good at expressing. I really loved the duet (Sugar Sweet by Benson Boone.) I think they sounded great together, and they also had some nice chemistry. In general I thought having three very different songs to show off different aspects of Seonghwa's vocals was a great choice since Seonghwa's strength is in his versatility. He said that he spent a month picking the songs, and on a live Yunho said that Seonghwa started asking about songs two months ahead of time. Also, props to Lee Mujin -- he's so perceptive and the comments he makes about his guests' vocals are always really insightful. He's also a great interviewer in general, really well researched and asking interesting questions, while also letting the conversation flow naturally in some places depending on how much the guest wants to talk about something. The interview sections were great and I feel like we got to know quite a bit about Seonghwa, both in terms of his thoughts about Ateez but also his thoughts about himself independent of Ateez. I really hope that in the future, Seonghwa gets more chances to show off his vocals. He's clearly been working hard at improving. I feel like you can hear a difference between this time last year (when they were on Killing Voice) and now. There weren't actually a lot of Seonghwa vocals in Lemon Drop or in the album in general, so I'm happy there was another outlet to showcase his voice. It can be hard in groups, especially larger groups, to really get a sense of some members' full potential, and it can also depend on the groups' production team, so shows like Lee Mujin Service are really valuable opportunities. Whenever Seonghwa gets an opportunity, he gets the most out of it that he possibly can. He clearly prepared a lot, and put a lot of thought into everything. A few weeks ago, he suddenly turned on a live and asked Atiny for strength but didn't specify why and it was noticeable that he feeling down about something. He revealed later that it was the day before the Lee Mujin Service shoot, and his throat hurt and he was incredibly nervous, but luckily he ended up doing well. Yunho said that he was in the car with Seonghwa when the episode came out, and saw Seonghwa watching it and said that Seonghwa looked happy and satisfied. That makes me really happy. I feel like Seonghwa can be very hard on himself, but he also does the most to make sure that there are no regrets, and it's great to see his efforts pay off and to know that he is proud of himself. submitted by /u/catsbytheghost [link] [comments]
Hi guys! In light of this situation that I've been following since the beginning, I wanted to share some information regarding how everything unfolded and how it is being handled. I'm compiling all of this here, to clear up my mind and hopefully incite a conversation that's actually fair and based on facts rather than biased speculations and carelessness. Don't hesitate to engage, ask questions, share things that you've found (only with links/proofs), my goal is really just to actually take time to investigate this further and bring attention to topics that have been overlooked, to counterbalance the amount of mindless conjecture that's going on right now. How this all started The first article On June 18th, an article published by reporter Choi Ji-Ye (최지예) on the platform TenAsia (텐아시아), alleged that a japanese tabloid, Shukan bunshun, confronted The Boyz's company, One Hundred Label, with evidences of member Ju Haknyeon being seen at a bar in Japan, in Roppongi, at a social gathering. In the morning of reading this news, there was no mention of dating nor prostitution. Shukan bunshun as a source The alleged source behind this initial report, Shukan bunshun, which is often compared to a japanese version of Dispatch, never came forward itself with any type of allegation or proof. Choi Ji-ye as a reporter The author of this article, Choi Ji-Ye, reported in the past on the scandal regarding BTS Yoongi, and on the situation regarding NewJeans, two cases in which she was accused of defamation, spreading false information, and participation in a smear campaign. Her credibility and integrity as a reporter has been called out multiple times. Confirmation bias takes the wheel After the first report, articles after articles came up relaying new information, with yet no additional sources or proofs. What ensued was a twisted game of telephone, where people's speculations based on their own biases, led to statements confidently being presented as truths being picked up by hasted news reports, to then became quoted evidence of a reality that never existed to begin with. I understand that we all have our own beliefs and convictions that guide our reactions and how we interpret the world around us, but at the end of the day all that matters are facts. Here are some subjects that needs to be made clear, to treat this situation with the fairness it deserves: 1. Regarding Roppongi While the bar they were allegedly seen at is located in Roppongi, a location that's know for it's big night life, it is not considered a red light district. It's popular among tourist because it is know for having a lot of foreigners, and having endless things to do, at any time of the day. 2. Regarding Kirara Asuka Regarding the women involved, she is a former AV actress by the name of Kirara Asuka. She started her career in 2007, took a break in 2018, to retire in 2020. She has a music career, participated in various variety shows, and is as of now a influencer. Regardless of personal stances on this type of industry, by law this does not make her a prostitute and there is NO proof going in that sense. She also denies those claims. 3. Regarding Haknyeon Another unfortunate way in which the public's personal convictions helped re-enforce the claims made against him, was by making assumptions about him as an idol, and as man. This is happening at the same as news about Taeil sentencing are coming out, and people somehow think it is appropriate to shamelessly draw comparisons between the two, to try and prove a point. Other previous idols scandals are also brought up in the same vein of thought, but despite any past experience you might have had as a fan, this should not be a reason to assume the worst of an idol. It also absolutely inappropriate to make assumptions about his sexual life or to presume that being a man makes him more inclined to soliciting sex services. I think we also need to bring up Haknyeon position within the group, as he's unfortunately never been among the most popular members. His fandom is more modest, and despite his big appearance on PD101, he's least well known from the public, he's never been a MC on shows or radio host like other members. It was a lot easier for the public opinion to sour regarding him than it would have regarding other members. 4. Regarding The Boyz They've in the public mind for a lot of controversies, especially as of recent, but even if most of those have been debunked, when it comes to updating themselves to those facts people just don't care anymore. A lot of their scandals are conveniently often brought up just before they make a comeback, such as for example, their fansign from a previous era that was criticized just before their March comeback. The scandals happening right now are lining up with what would soon be their next comeback, based on the average time between their comebacks, and the pattern of always releasing their music at the same time as other groups. 5. Regarding their company ONEHUNDRED (100RED) This is a new company that not a lot of people are familiar with, but is not highly regarded within the fandom. They have been highly criticized for the way they've been handling the group since signing them, overall they kind of just suck as a company. They are also in dispute with the broadcast companies SBS and KBS, which has had bad consequences on their artists. Prostitution claims As mentioned before, while the initial report never included prostitution, things quickly escalated to make serious legal statements involving a crime. It went from > being seen at the same location as an AV actress > questioning weither they were dating > accusations of prostitution, stemming from the biases discussed above, and the abuse of the media as a source of legitimacy even if it was unfounded. How to prove prostitution We truly need to talk about the most important thing regarding these accusations, and that somehow no one questions, how do you prove that someone participated in prostitution? What is the logistic of that? There is no explanation from any news outlet regarding how they would have been caught participating in this crime. To really prove that this crime took place, they would need to: Prove that an exchange of money took place. Prove that a sexual relationship occurred. How can a sighting of the two of them in a public location, surrounded by people, explain any of those. Were they seen at second location? Were they stalked or followed? Is there any photo/video proof? How come no news outlet that want to claim prostitution as a fact even has a beginning of an explanation of how they came to this conclusion? The lies are not even keeping up with the reports themselves. The Investigation On June 19th, it was reported that someone filed a complaint with the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul to request an investigation of the claims against Haknyeon. That person has no involvement in this case, no link with Hakyneon or 100RED, they just saw the news like all of us. Some news outlets excluded the information regarding the legitimacy of the complaint and ended up giving this report a lot more credibility then deserved. There is no information regarding weither this report was taken seriously by the authorities, or if an investigation arose from this. Ju Hakyneon's statement On June 20th, Ju Haknyeon shared on his personal Instagram a statement denying all the criminal claims made about him, and also shedding light on the poor relationship between him and his label. Feud with his label Before this statement, the main argument for the legitimacy of this whole story, was the response of his agency. Most people assumed that they wouldn't have reacted in the way that they did, with the speed that they did, if they didn't have strong legal grounds. However, what transpires of Hak's statement, is that they have no valid reason for contract termination as outlined in his contract. They have been ignoring the proper procedures outlined in the contract to terminate him from the group, and lied to the media by reporting that the contract was already terminated when this is not legally true. They are also try to use this scandal as ground to sue for an astronomical amount of money. Furthermore, I have never withdrawn from the group, nor have I ever consented to the termination of my exclusive contract. Despite there being no valid reason for contract termination as outlined in my contract, my agency is attempting to fabricate such grounds. David versus Goliath Another point made in this statement is the power imbalance between him and the company/the media. It's truly sad how powerless an idol can become when their own company and the public opinion turn against them. I think it's important to acknowledge the powers at play in this situation, especially since it seems that 100RED are getting themselves ready to fight back. A big entertainment company, helped by medias that already cared more about clickbait profit then actual facts, is going to be a hell of challenge to overcome. To be honest, I am very frightened. But I realized that if I give in here, this society may become a place where people without power can be destroyed over things they did not do. I’m speaking out in the hope that this fight can be a small source of hope for someone out there. Taking actions He is finally taking the legal actions that people reproached him of not taking sooner, and used as a way to imply his culpability. He has enough confidence in his case to be able to prove his innocence. Although I have already made it clear that I have not engaged in any illegal activities, certain reporters and media outlets continue to publish malicious articles. In response, I will pursue all possible civil and criminal legal action. I intend to hold accountable both the agency, which unfairly expelled me from the team and is making baseless claims about contract termination, and the media outlets that have caused harm by mentioning prostitution without any verified facts. Conclusion Overall, here's what I hope everyone will take from this: False statements It is NOT a fact that Kirara is a prostitute. It is NOT a fact that Ju Haknyeon paid to have sex with Kirara Asuka. Both of those involve being sentenced by law, and there is no report that a serious police investigation has been initiated, let alone that there has been a verdict to reach a sentence. Sharing any of those two statements as fact is mindlessly spreading misinformation. Please refrain from doing so. Manipulation of information Medias around the world reported on this scandal, with no attempts at fact-checking their sources. Some articles left out the fact that Kirara was retired for many years. Some articles left out the fact that the person that reported Haknyeon to the police had no personal involvement in this situation, and just did it based on the news they saw online. The examples are plenty full. Both the media and the public pieced together a story based on absolutely nothing, and that's scary. I hope this post can help everyone reflect on how the media and people's personal opinions influenced this situation. The truth The only confirmed truth about this, is that, as he confirmed himself, he was at a gathering drinking with an acquittance, with Kirara present, on May 30, 2025, in Roppongi, Japan. Everything else is baseless speculations as of now. Only further investigation will clear this situation, and as I hope you got from this long ass post, not every thing posted online is reliable.
