Articles / Timeline 250422 This day marks one year since HYBE launched their audit of Min Hee Jin and ADOR's management. Happy(?) 1st anniversary of the Megathreads! 250502 The 3rd hearing for Min Hee Jin vs. Belift Lab was set to take place but postponed to July 18th at Belift Lab's request. Each side is due to present their arguments/documents regarding plagiarism issues at the next meeting. (Source: Maeil Kyungjae) 250530 We learned that ADOR had filed for 'indirect enforcement' after their injunction was granted and NewJeans performed at ComplexCon back in March (Filed on April 4th according to the statement from NewJeans' representatives linked below). On the 30th, the 52nd Division of the Seoul Central District court further granted this request. The 'indirect enforcement' ruling means that each individual member of NewJeans will be fined 1 billion won (approx. $725,000) if they continue with entertainment activities independent of ADOR, which would be in violation of the injunction. This enforcement with potential fines does NOT apply to any of NewJeans' independent activities between the granting of the injunction and the granting of this 'indirect enforcement'. These fines will only apply to future activities going forward, or at least until rulings with NewJeans' appeal or the main contract validity case changes anything (next hearing on June 5th). (Source: Chosun Biz, MK Sports) The Korea Herald: Court orders NewJeans to pay Ador 1 billion won for each unauthorized activity Discussion Post Korea JoongAng Daily: Court orders NewJeans members to pay ADOR $725,600 for every independent entertainment activity A statement by NewJeans' representatives was made later in the day primarily acknowledging the indirect enforcement ruling, but reiterating that it is temporary and will no longer have an effect if NewJeans win their appeal of the injunction. (Source: Ilgan Sports) The 2nd hearing for Source Music's damages lawsuit against Min Hee Jin took place at the 12th Civil Affairs Division of the Seoul Western District Court. (Quick recap: 1st was January 10th, 2nd was previously scheduled for March 14th, postponed per Source Music's request). Legal representatives were present. Source Music had a 20-minute presentation prepared, but Min Hee Jin's representatives objected to the inclusion of KakaoTalk messages in the presentation. They claimed the messages were illegally obtained and requested the hearing to be closed/private. Source Music denied the messages were obtained illegally, claiming they were gained from company devices with consent. The court went with a temporary compromise to keep the hearing public, but not allow discussion/display of the messages until they were reviewed again. A special hearing to review the messages will take place June 27th. (Source: Sports Today) 250605 The Seoul Central District Court Division 41 held the second hearing for ADOR seeking confirmation of validity for their exclusive contract with NewJeans. Only legal representatives were in attendance. NewJeans' side primarily argued that ADOR had not met their obligations and that their evidence they were preparing to support NewJeans' activities, like finding a new producer, was inadequate. ADOR's side argued that NewJeans' reasons for allegedly terminating their contract continually changed, indicating they are arbitrary and being made up with retroactive hindsight. The issue of some evidence being collected illegally also came up again from NewJeans' side. Judge Jung Hoe-Il specifically inquired if both/either sides were willing to come to an agreement, encouraging them to do so. NewJeans' representatives strongly indicated this was unlikely as the trust in ADOR had completely collapsed. ADOR's representatives indicated they could see negotiating an agreement once the court comes to a final decision. The 3rd hearing was set for July 24th. (Sources: X Sport News, Maeil Kyungjae) 250612 The next hearing regarding the Shareholder Agreement termination and exercising put/call options lawsuits between HYBE and Min Hee Jin was held at the Seoul Central District Court's 31st Division. Arguments from each side mostly re-tread what we've already covered. HYBE's side argued they were justified in ending the shareholder agreement due to the threat Min Hee Jin posed to the company. Min Hee Hin's side argued the timing of the audit/termination did not align purely with that concern and that some KakaoTalk messages and emails were obtained illegally and not admissable as evidence. HYBE also indicated they had a witness to give testimony at the next meeting, which the court accepted. The next hearing with closing arguments, was set for September 11th for both lawsuits. (Sources: Maeil Kyungjae, TV Daily, Sports Today) 250617 Following up from April 16th when NewJeans appealed the court's decision to uphold the injunction and halt on their independent activities, the Seoul High Court reaffirmed the earlier decision. The court rejected NewJeans' appeal. They determined there was no significant change in the material/arguments presented for the appeal and the original decision to grant ADOR's injunction was justified. There was further clarification that the management conflict between HYBE and Min Hee Jin, and her no longer being NewJeans' producer, did not constitute a valid argument for the alleged collapse of trust between ADOR and NewJeans. The group's withdrawal from ADOR is considered arbitrary, that their artistic freedom or activity is not impeded since they are able to do so within their exclusive contract, and that any damages resulting from attempting independent activities are self-inflicted. The subreddit is mostly uncensored as long as people follow the rules. Generalizing statement about Korea, Korean society, etc or most other countries are not acceptable except under the following standards: The only claims that are acceptable when generalizing Korean society in this sub are those that bring up generalizable stastical claims by the standards of the international statistics institute. Not only do the vast majority of stastistics you can find on the internet about Korea not up to this minimum, basic standard but this requirement includes having ample sample size, blocking by relevant demographics and sometimes even double blind tests. So if you make a generalizing claim, your wording must be properly formatted and links to the relevant studies provided. In other words, the standard for making a generalization is very high in this sub. Not to mention the wording for your claim has to be properly made. Anyone who has taken a college level statistics class will know what I am talking about and we may even require you to provide the confidence level interval if it's relevant for your study. If you cannot meet these standards, I would just avoid doing it in general. submitted by /u/Kpop_Love_Forever [link] [comments]
Preface: I am only mentioning groups I am a genuine fan of as to avoid people thinking I’m “hating” I think people have varying ideas of what “paving the way” means. A lot of people use it too often and in reference to so many different groups. I use the term very sparingly as I think paving the way is very different from what the majority of K-pop fans see it as. Doing something first is not paving the way TXT did not pave the way for Katseye because they were the first group to perform at lollapolooza. Blackpink didn’t pave the way for groups to perform at coachella cause they were first. If I break into a mall and you follow, and go to the jewelry section, you didn’t pave the way for people to steal jewelry just cause I went to the gucci store. Being the beneficiary of someone else paving the way, and then doing a bunch of things 1st doesn’t make it paving the way even if many groups do the same things you did. Older generation ≠ Paving the way (in its truest sense) Tying into the first point, the idea that every successful group of a previous generation paved the way for the groups of a new generation is not fully true. While I do think to a certain extent, the previous generation as a whole paved the way for the next, I think assigning that trait to every group that helped is inaccurate. Tired of hearing, “this group wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for this group so they paved the way more”. Shinee helped the 2nd gen pave the way but they didn’t pave the way for Exo or Red Velvet. Seventeen helped the 3rd gen pave the way but they didn’t pave the way for Ateez or TXT. Every group helps its generation pave the way for the future so if that’s what people think a group paving the way is, sure, every group paves the way. As for what I believe true paving the way is, I think it’s breaking into the mall. I believe it’s having such an impact that you create opportunities and allow for not only allows your hoobaes, but your peers, and even your sunbaes to benefit from. This is why I think BTS is different. They paved the way in the truest sense of the phrase. Their breakout as the biggest group in Korea to then expanding through Asia and then to the West is unprecedented and allowed for everyone in the industry to benefit from that, including every group in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th gen. I think the 3rd gen is where people have recently and going forward will blur the lines on what true paving the way is means. I truly don’t believe any groups other than BTS paved the way in this gen as what BTS did was so monumental that the other groups didn’t need to create any opportunities, they bounced on the opportunities that presented themselves when BTS did what it did. This isn’t to say that the other 3rd gen groups weren’t elite and impactful and won’t go down as legends. It’s just that these groups didn’t impact the industry in terms of influence and creating chances for others like BTS did. I think other groups/artists that paved the way for kpop include Seo Taiji, BoA, BigBang, and SNSD. I don’t consider PSY as someone who paved the way as as big as gangnam style was, I don’t think it created opportunities for other groups to thrive as it was more of a meme than this next big thing, and most people didn’t know what Kpop was. I think Katseye has the potential to pave the way for groups going forward based on how unique they are as an international girl group and how they’ve already been causing changes to the industry. submitted by /u/Regular-Breakfast699 [link] [comments]

Lots of artists play instruments even if it isn't in a band so let's keep that in mind. It would be kpop if we didn't give this group an interesting name so last day let's name them. Have fun! submitted by /u/The_Entire_Tone [link] [comments]

It's crazy how these recent and upcoming events that Lisa has done from the past year, she got so badly slutshamed and dragged through hell for it, like literally EVERYTHING she's done. And now, I just saw some hybe groups went to a F1GP & Twice to perform in VS. Their fans are literally notorious for slutshaming Lisa for everything she's doing. I don't want to read anyone denying it bcos their's a lot of twts & reddit posts I could pull as proof. My question is are they also sluts for performing & attending these events? or is that only reserved for Lisa whom is obvsly on these groups' company's moodboard? submitted by /u/Straight-Listen-2513 [link] [comments]
Every time when an idol starts to sing something live, the fans only can compare whether the idols is singing with or without autotune! The voice sounds bigger = AUTOTUNE The voice sounds clearer = AUTOTUNE The voice has more tail at the end of the voice = AUTOTUNE Just gonna say, not every vocal production technique is about AUTOTUNE AUTOTUNE!! There are REVERB, EQ, DELAY, DOUBLING, HARMONY, PITCH CORRECTION, COMPRESSION, LIMITING, and many more! I am just very frustrated everything become AUTOTUNE when sometimes, there is not a single AUTOTUNE effect being put on the production. submitted by /u/Lost-Reception-1136 [link] [comments]
Not all of it was bad. He had some good points but most of it were just horribly off. Some groups just got put into complety wrong categories and the overall ranking really didn't match for nearly all of them. I know videos like this are always biased and there will never be a actually good ranking everybody could agree with. But he really had some very unpopular opinions. submitted by /u/Injeolmie_04 [link] [comments]
Which act do you think would steal my heart based on my other favs? submitted by /u/NewJeansBunnie [link] [comments]
As we all know, both of them have high vocal registers. While Ahyeon is inarguably a very talented singer, said talent is raw at the very worst; there has been discourse on her live performances and how singing so high so often risks straining her voice later on. Ejae, on the other hand, has become a worldwide phenomenon due to her contributions to KPDH, especially for her own high notes. Then, when Huntr/x performed "Golden" on SNL and Fallon's Tonight Show over the past few days, the song's key was lowered from E minor to D minor, and the "born to be" part was sung fewer times in the latter performance. These adjustments allowed Ejae to showcase her range without overexerting her voice. So, if YG Entertainment were smart, they’d take a similar approach: finding keys that flatter all members during live performances, especially in songs where Ahyeon’s at her upper limit. It would let her shine vocally without pushing too far. [And I say this as someone who likes/follows both artists' music.] submitted by /u/6ixspAdes [link] [comments]
First of all I would like to say I do like BOYNEXTDOOR (I'm more of a casual fan) but I do find there popularity/lack of popularity extremely confusing as well as other parts about their brand. 1) I love love their concept but I feel like their music really underutilises it honestly I do find it quite samey they defo have some unique songs (earth wind and fire, one and only, if i say i love you and a couple others) but they are the minority in there discography in my opinion. 2) The feel forgatten by hybe this may partly be because they are under a different label but they just don't feel that connected to other hybe groups or even from hybe at all. It's quite confusing since they are hybes first 5th gen bg and they are quite popular so I would expect them to put more focus into them. 3) The members all seem very talented but from what i've seen at least there seems to be one member who is infitly popular compared to the rest which isn't exactly unuasal but still feels weird None of this is coming from malice I truly want them to suceed and these are only my impressions as a casual fans feel free to educate me in the comments if I am wrong. submitted by /u/ImaginaryTask1487 [link] [comments]
