This is something I've noticed and I don't like about fandoms in my five years of being in the field. Fandoms are always arguing and fighting. It gets to the point were you'll see a post discussing one group and some other fandom will just enter in their own fav group in there while the post has ABSOLUTELY GOBSMACK UNDERARMS NOTHING to do with that group like AT ALL. They will enter in and make everything a competition between the groups and it's members. The groups can be friends and be happy around each other but the fandoms will be so busy hating that we can't see them together anymore for example BTS and BP. Fandoms made it impossible to see them together and I'm not talking ship wise I'm talking as normal friends working in the business together. This isn't just a small thing it literally so pmo. Fandoms get so caught up in trying to put uo their fav group that they get so freaking competitive with other groups like bro not all of this is about competition. Its not all about proving your group is better than other groups. Some fandoms will literally cuss out members if they interact with another group especially if it's outside their agency. Why is this normal? Why can't y'all just choose peace? What happened to growing up and being mature adults or just human beings? This isn't a sport this is Kpop and artists can be friends with who ever and they can mingle with whoever they want. ITZY just had a comeback a few days ago, and to be honest, I wasn’t a huge fan of the song at first. I’ve really liked most of their previous releases, but this one didn’t click with me even after a few listens. It just felt like it wasn’t my type of song. But then I watched their live performance on M Countdown, and wow — I was completely blown away. Something about the performance totally changed how the song felt to me. It wasn’t just the visuals (which were obviously different from the MV); the sound itself felt different when I saw them performing it live. Suddenly, the whole vibe hit differently. I even went back to the music video after that, and weirdly, the song sounded better to me than before. It gave me a whole new perspective.I’ve seen other people mention that live performances can make a song grow on you, but this is the first time it’s happened to me. Usually, if I don’t like a song, that doesn’t change — live or not. But this was different. Has anyone else ever had that kind of experience? Where a live stage completely changed how you felt about a song? If so, which song was it for you? I went to Jay B's concert in Chicago last night. I'd like to preface by stating that GOT7 is my ultimate group. I've always had such an immense sense of respect for Jay B because of his admirable leadership, and dedication to performing. Last night was a testament to both statements. His US tour has multiple stops, with him only having one day of rest in between shows. He had his Chicago show yesterday, today he is Atlanta, and tomorrow the US grand finale of his tour will end in Maryland. His schedule is daunting. Jay B is a seasoned performer, but this feat is almost insurmountable for any idol. Jay B deserves his 10s for remaining strong, and giving his all during this tour. During soundcheck, Jay B stated that he was exhausted. Despite his fatigue, he did everything in his power to make everyone happy, which he succeeded in doing. He sang live, danced choreography full out, and overall made the atmosphere feel like one massive party. Jay B is hard work personified. Not sure if anyone else has noticed but for the last 2-3 years, majority of the survival shows that have come out have had small lineups. As someone who first got into kpop in 2016, having large lineups in survival shows was the norm. But nowadays you're lucky to even debut a 9 member group from a survival. I honestly think it's a waste to host an entire show where only 6-7 people make it (especially when they're company shows. they could've just picked the lineup themselves instead of doing an entire show for it) I more so wish the survival show RUNEXT debuted a larger lineup than the 6 to 5 lineup that ILLIT became. That group should've definitely had more members. And same with ILAND. I kinda hoped they would've at least debuted 9 members. Making a super group of female idols felt like the natural next step after super m. I was so excited when it was announced, the line up was amazing and full of great talent. It sucks that the group never went anywhere. I don’t know if it was their concept, sound, promotions, company restructuring, maybe a combination of everything, but it ended up being poorly executed. Personally I didn’t think step back or stamp on it were the right sounds to go for, I would have liked more of a 90/00s rnb or pop sound vs the kind of electronic girl crush they did. Even if some fans liked the sound, neither song was very successful which is unfortunate because it killed any incentive they had to continue the group. I also think good management could have found a way to continue group comebacks in addition to Got the Beat, if GOT was more successful it could have been a big boost for the individual groups’ own comebacks. But iirc SM as a company was going through a lot back then and it was pissing fans off, making the reception to GOT that much poorer.
