bts are back and the industry hasn’t found a “next bts”

for the longest time now, bts has proven to be able to stand the test of time and industry. they weren’t “put in the baseman” in 2019, they only kept rising after DNA, they defeated the “seven years curse”, they took breaks and got past their burnout, and now, they have overcome the biggest obstacle of all, their sword of damocles: enlistment. they enlisted, and came back without losing an ounce of relevance and being as united as ever. their enlistment was the thing that haters had awaited for the most, thinking it would be the end for them, and now… they did it, and they overcame all the odds, and the industry hasn’t found a “next bts” despite trying time and time again. so… what comes next? is the industry going to keep trying, or will they accept there is no way to produce a “next bts”? will they keep riding their coattails and keep trying taking a slice of merit from the “kpop phenomenon” success pile despite witnessing the fall of relevancy of kpop after bts left? honestly, i’m very intrigued to see what happens next. submitted by /u/banbancherries [link] [comments]

1.707. I feel the songs are still boring even if they are smaller in length.

was listening to a song the other day and found myself thinking, "When is this going to end?" I checked my phone — it had only been playing for 1.5 minutes. I was genuinely surprised. I'm from India, and I grew up with songs that often ran 7–8 minutes long. Even today, I still listen to those older tracks, and somehow, I never get bored. They hold my attention from start to finish. That got me thinking — why do some newer songs feel so dull so quickly? I think it might be because many of them are too monotonous. There’s not much dynamic range, no real "ups and downs" musically or emotionally, and lyrically, there’s often not a lot going on. It’s like the song just loops the same vibe with minimal progression. I'm not saying all modern music is like this, but it's something I've been noticing more often. Has anyone else felt this way? What do you think is missing in newer songs that older ones had? submitted by /u/Koi_hai_ [link] [comments]

1.713. If Jongseob were in a bigger company, everyone would be calling him 4th gen’s best rapper.

I’ve been wanting to write this for a while, because Jongseob deserves way more recognition than he gets. He’s not just talented, he’s consistently good, incredibly self-aware, and clearly puts a lot of thought into his work as an artist. It kind of blows my mind how underrated he still is. I’ve followed P1Harmony since debut, and from day one, Jongseob stood out. Not just because he was young (he debuted at 15!), but because of how naturally he handled rapping. His delivery always felt deliberate, not try-hard, not forced. Just confident, and his. What really impresses me is how much he's grown without ever losing his identity. He’s experimented with different styles and he pulls it all off without sounding like he’s copying anyone. His tone is so distinct, and he knows how to use it. I’ve watched a lot of idol rappers take years to figure that out. Jongseob just… borned with it. And beyond all the “rap skill,” I think what draws me to him the most is his intention. Whether it’s a fiery verse or something more chill, it feels like he knows exactly what he wants to say and how he wants to say it. His parts never feel like filler. He has this way of commanding attention without shouting for it. His presence is quiet but strong. If he were in a company like HYBE or SM, the fandoms would be constantly hyping him. The level of talent he brings would be impossible to ignore if he had more eyes on him. It’s frustrating sometimes, but I think it also says a lot that he’s made this much of an impression coming from a smaller company. Anyway, I just wanted to put this out there. Jongseob is genuinely one of the most exciting young rappers in the industry right now, and I hope more people start paying attention to what he’s doing. Not just in title tracks, but in his writing, his performances, everything. He’s not just promising. He’s already there. submitted by /u/Seesawey [link] [comments]
