I understand we're very early into the 5th gen but it seems like none of the 5th gen groups have managed to capture the same success as their seniors? I don't know much about boy groups, but I get the sense that they're even less popular with the GP than girl groups. The current leader - Babymonster hasn't had a national hit. They've been growing exponentially on every metric domestically and globally, but they don't have that one signature hit that'll cement them in the big leagues. The formerly potential leader Illit had a national hit, and then kinda of fizzled out. Even their latest release isn't doing too hot. H2H barely made any noise. JYP doesn't have a 5th gen group yet, but Nmixx weren't ever particularly successful or considered one of the top group despite having debuted for quite some time. Yes, I understand it takes time to build a fanbase, but I didn't feel like that was the case for 4th gen? Like Itzy, Ive, Izone all came out bursting on the scene and quickly shot to the top. They didn't need time to grow to overtake their seniors. They came out and instantly became the hot new thing. Same with Newjeans. Idle & Aespa took sometime, but it was relatively short, and after they got to the top they've managed to cling on with longevity. And to an extent, Lesserafim while not having a national hit also established themselves as one of the top groups quite quickly. But I don't see any of the new girl groups doing that? Is there a reason why? Is Korea just tired of K-Pop in general? I know many of them just debuted, but some Big 3 5th gen groups have been out for over a year and aren't anywhere near where their seniors were at this point in time. Is it oversaturation? submitted by /u/papapamrumpum [link] [comments]

For Bgs i would choose Seventeen and Nct. On the other hand for ggs i would go with Itzy and Xg(if you consider them as kpop) submitted by /u/Dense_Ad3239 [link] [comments]
Baby DONT Cry, pnation gg, released a teaser for their mv. I don’t know if I can actually describe the scene but it involves something that is associated with certain themes. A member is seen trying to buy it from a male shopkeeper. She then takes off the wrapper and puts “candy” in her mouth. I personally have no problem with this theme as long as it involves adults. The group has minor members and the other girls are super young. I don’t know how the company approved this scene without knowing that it is inappropriate for the members. Idk maybe it is supposed to convey some sort of message or commentary. It’s not a “if a male idol would have done it, you wouldn’t care” situation either. I know minors in real life engage in these activities. But to show it in a video with overt suggestive scene seems odd. Yes, the mv hasn’t been released yet but this scene won’t be changed regardless of the whole mv plot. And it obviously doesn’t concern the actual song. Ps: obviously the soon to debut members are not at fault here. Or any lone producer of the group. Everyone who approved this video should be questioned. submitted by /u/Gisntd [link] [comments]

Just because a hate train starts on Twitter doesn’t mean it magically stays there. It spreads to YouTube comments, TikTok, Instagram, Reddit, and basically every other platform. And every time someone points that out, the same tired response comes up: “Just delete Twitter” or “That’s just Twitter, who cares?” Like, be serious. Saying that doesn’t erase the impact it has across the internet. I’ve never had a Twitter account in my life, and I can still tell when a hate train is happening. The way it suddenly dominates comment sections, how everyone starts repeating the same phrases like it’s scripted, that doesn’t happen in a vacuum. It’s obvious when a narrative is being pushed, even if you’re not on the original platform. And let’s be honest, the “get off Twitter” replies are super selective. When it’s hate aimed at Group X, everyone rushes in to say “that’s just Twitter” or “don’t bring that here.” But when the exact same behavior is directed at Group Y, suddenly it’s open season. Now we’re allowed to talk about it here. Now it’s totally fine to drag their fandom and analyze how “toxic” they are, and somehow no one is shouting “get off Twitter” in those threads. So no, it’s not just about being on Twitter. It’s about how the discourse that starts there spreads everywhere, and how people only seem to care when it affects a group they like. Let’s not act like the rest of the internet is immune. submitted by /u/thebarted [link] [comments]

I’m seeing Skz on the 26th! I dyed my hair to match one of my fave jeongin hair colors, the cruella hair he did! I’m also putting together one of his outfits, specifically the chk chk boom fit with the red sweater! I’m so excited to put everything together! <3 submitted by /u/Littlest_guy_ever [link] [comments]

Hi all, I was hoping to get clarification on why I am seeing some tickets on StubHub that are different from the seats listed on Ticketmaster. Is each platform allotted different tickets? Or does that happen because of where the individual posts it for resale? For reference, I am trying to get tickets to go see Jin in Anaheim and noticed different tickets listed at different prices on both platforms which is throwing me off and making me wonder if the tickets are real. Thanks! submitted by /u/strugglingITstudent [link] [comments]
It’s so interesting how intentional KATSEYE’s eras feel in terms of audience appeal: 1. Debut – This era was clearly aimed at their original fanbase who followed them from “Dream Academy.” 2. Touch – This song is very K-pop coded and seems to be crafted specifically to connect with Asian audiences. 3. Gnarly – This is probably their trickiest era of all, as the song is a mix of hyperpop and experimental sounds. However, it paved the way to show that KATSEYE is a truly versatile group. I also think they aimed for this song to be more trend-driven—and it successfully was. 4. Gabriela – This track is clearly intended to resonate with the Latin American audience. They’re really embracing the global in “global girl group,” and I absolutely love that. submitted by /u/why_dmn [link] [comments]
I like to enjoy the little things in life and find meaning to them. Being a Mexican growing up in the 90-00's I love the concept, the Spanish translation in the video and the way they portrayed really well the telenovela aesthetic and the ridiculousness of it. It also feels really nice to see an international (usa based) pop group doing this kind of stuff giving the current issues surrounding Latino people and culture in the USA. So it really felt nice, you know, to get to see this fun lighthearted approach to a very goofy part of our culture. Besides that... The vocals?! The visuals?! The coreo?! Jeez!! I loved everything. But what I love the most was Manon trying to hold her laugh at 1:34, and Dani's verse in Spanish. Mi gente Latino! What did you think about the MV and the song? submitted by /u/Quejumbrosam [link] [comments]
I’m making a playlist that gives very strong Jaeyi friendly rivalry vibes. Like very mysterious luxurious and slightly haunting. I only have four songs so far so if anyone has any recs that they think would go perfectly PLEASEE lmk!!! 🩷💗 submitted by /u/Big-Inevitable-2515 [link] [comments]
