I like to enjoy the little things in life and find meaning to them. Being a Mexican growing up in the 90-00's I love the concept, the Spanish translation in the video and the way they portrayed really well the telenovela aesthetic and the ridiculousness of it. It also feels really nice to see an international (usa based) pop group doing this kind of stuff giving the current issues surrounding Latino people and culture in the USA. So it really felt nice, you know, to get to see this fun lighthearted approach to a very goofy part of our culture. Besides that... The vocals?! The visuals?! The coreo?! Jeez!! I loved everything. But what I love the most was Manon trying to hold her laugh at 1:34, and Dani's verse in Spanish. Mi gente Latino! 1.107. Concert ticketing question, Ticketmaster and StubHub

Hi all, I was hoping to get clarification on why I am seeing some tickets on StubHub that are different from the seats listed on Ticketmaster. Is each platform allotted different tickets? Or does that happen because of where the individual posts it for resale? For reference, I am trying to get tickets to go see Jin in Anaheim and noticed different tickets listed at different prices on both platforms which is throwing me off and making me wonder if the tickets are real. Thanks! submitted by /u/strugglingITstudent [link] [comments]

1.108. I love how each of KATSEYE’s eras caters to a different audience.

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

It’s so interesting how intentional KATSEYE’s eras feel in terms of audience appeal: 1. Debut – This era was clearly aimed at their original fanbase who followed them from “Dream Academy.” 2. Touch – This song is very K-pop coded and seems to be crafted specifically to connect with Asian audiences. 3. Gnarly – This is probably their trickiest era of all, as the song is a mix of hyperpop and experimental sounds. However, it paved the way to show that KATSEYE is a truly versatile group. I also think they aimed for this song to be more trend-driven—and it successfully was. 4. Gabriela – This track is clearly intended to resonate with the Latin American audience. They’re really embracing the global in “global girl group,” and I absolutely love that. submitted by /u/why_dmn [link] [comments]

1.115. I’ve come to realize I have weird taste.

Have you guys listened to Hearts2Hearts new song “Style”? I thought I really enjoyed it, but I saw a lot of Korean reviews saying the song was just fine. Tbh I was a bit surprised, and when I asked my friend about it, he also said it was just fine. He thinks Red Velvet’s “Psycho” is really good but I thought “Psycho” was just okay, though I know it was a huge hit. I guess I just have uncommon taste in a lot of things, not just music but also clothes etc. Whenever my friends pick clothes for me, the feedback is usually better than when i choose them myself. submitted by /u/Far_Diet_4229 [link] [comments]

1.116. What was it like stanning for YG groups in the 2nd gen?

1.117. Does stan culture trump all else?

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I recently watched the MV for THEBLACKLABELS new group. I don't want to get too much into my own opinions of them, since that's not what I'm interested in. The long and short of it is, I liked Youngseo on RUnext, I was vaguely interested in what she had got into, and I knew they recruited some guy called Tarzan who got them all in hot water because he's giving himself traction alopecia. Much of the response to the debut that I've seen is, "Oh, the song is not as bad as I thought it would be!" This somewhat piques my curiosity, though. I don't think the song quality really matters at all when we are looking at blatant and intense cultural appropriation. But, here's my main point, or at least the thing I'd like to see some other perspectives on. The Tarzan guy has gotten called out before in other groups MVs and he doesn't give two shits. Everyone knew what this group was going to be like since YG has always had a history of this bullshit. When they've got a high budget, flashy editing, and famous members, do K-Pop stans even care, though? I feel like the general consensus is "I'd rather be a Day 1 fan of a group that is guaranteed to do well, at least in Korea, than have any sense of a fucking backbone at all." This keeps getting repeated, and the more it happens, and the more people who accept companies shitty apologies on social media, the more this behavior gets normalized and encouraged. If the members weren't already known, and they weren't under a big company, I find it hard to believe that this would be so easily pushed aside. I believe that stan culture encourages putting para-social relationships above personal morals, but I'd like to hear other perspectives on it because the echo chamber has genuinely shocked me. submitted by /u/navillere [link] [comments]
