why is JYPE like this... put pre-release tracks on streaming!!!

I've been a die-hard Stay since 2019 (Double Knot era), and they're one of my favorite groups ever. In no way am I a SKZ hater or an anti, I love all the boys and their creativity in their work. However, all of that being said, I've started to grow disappointed every time they release new music over the past few years. I think a really good example of this is their newest album, KARMA. The title track was... kind of subpar at best. It didn't hook me like their previous tt's have. The entire album besides 0801 felt a bit lackluster and... meaningless. It's hard to explain, but most of the songs came off with the vibes of "we're tough guys, we rap, we don't care what anyone else thinks of us, etc." And that's a totally fine concept to have. But this same theme has carried over from their newest Mixtape, Hop, Ate, Rock Star, etc. I can count on my hands how many of the songs on these albums over the course of four years that are genuinely meaningful - I'm talking about: the lyrics are straight from the heart, they're relatable to many, and the beat itself isn't a bunch of rap and hype backtracks. Some of their recent work in years that have meaning are: Waiting for us, Youtiful, Cover Me, and maybe a few others. It's pretty crazy that only a few songs come to mind when the rest of those albums are pretty much the same thing over and over again, just wrapped in different packaging. Truman and Creed are perfect examples of what I'm talking about here - the songs sound virtually the same, the lyrics have identical meanings, it all feels the same. This is in comparison to their much older work like Hero's Soup, 19, Chronosaurus, Insomnia, Silent Cry, and perhaps the most meaningful one - Levanter. Maybe I'm biased because their old songs packed with tons of meaning are my favorites, but I just feel so discouraged by their newest work. I understand that it's the artistic direction they've chosen to go in, but it's becoming increasingly difficult for me to get excited about a new comeback when I know there's a 90% chance that it's going to be like everything else they've made since 2021. I think the boys are incredibly talented, and I love that JYP still allows them so much creative freedom with their work. But personally, I'm growing kind of tired of the way things are being made. And every time I try to bring this topic up on Stan Twitter, TikTok or even to my Stay moots they always shoot me down as a SKZ anti - when I'm the opposite of that. I genuinely want to know why fans think some things/jokes are funny. A fan account I follow posted a pic of an idol(specifically a member of stray kids bald). And I don’t understand the joke behind the bald edits. I’ve seen plenty of bald people IRL so I see it as a normal thing. But I just don’t find it funny. And many fandoms post these. I feel like it might just be a kpop thing cause I don’t see non-kpop artists fandoms posting this. And it’s not deep or anything. Imagine there is a completely fair, neutral, and extremely knowledgeable judge. They do not know anything about k-pop or the people in it. You are to submit a vote to get your idol(s) considered for a list of best K-pop dancers. But the catch is that - you can only use ONE video per idol. One video to prove your case and showcase the idol’s dance skills. The song, stage, set, etc should not matter. Only the dance skills showcased. Which video are you picking? Note: Compilation videos cannot be used. There should only be a single dance item in the video. It’s been about 7 months since I got into kpop, somehow this year i find kpop fascinating, something I never thought I would, and tbh i think i go mainly for visual as most people do. Currently i like NewJeans & Illit visuals, perhaps i'm something of a bunnies myself, but as for their music, I don't really listen to it, kpop as genre is not really my cup of tea, I heard Ditto on repeat, as people said it was NJ best song, but I don't think the song is any good. Anyway, I want to point out aspects of kpop culture that weird me out, I learned that the way kpop industry release their music is rather unusual, for an instance Aespa had more EPs than the actual studio album, 6 EPs and only 1 studio album is absolutely a ridiculous discography. Why feel the need to drop new stuff every year? instead of dropping EP every single year, I'd rather they, or any group, took their time for 2-3 years after their last album, and then release a new album with 14 songs on it, I think that's how you do it the right way. Most kpop physical albums are bizarre tho, all those fancy packages, photobooks, photocards, and posters, only to have 4 songs on it, gimmick over music. Moreover, the way kpop fans feel compelled to always keep up with their idols, is on another level, NJ last gig was in march, and only a few days later the fans on x were like 'I miss them so bad, it’s been forever!'. Also there's a group called G-idle who dropped a new song in May and everyone's screaming 'it's a comeback!', but when I checked, their last song was in July last year, literally just months ago, a comeback? do me a favor, a comeback is when you return after disappearing for, like, years. Blackpink started their tour this year and people be like 'OMG finally! They’re reuniting!' as if they'd been separated for a decade. Reality check: their last tour was in… 2023! Music wise, to me personally, most kpop songs sound similar, you hear some random kpop song and think, is this IVE? Itzy? Twice? Newjeans? Babymonster? it could be anyone, it's wild that for years kpop industry has been making the same songs over and over again, with different titles and groups, I don't think there's a single idol who had a recognisable voice. Also, what’s with K-pop’s obsession with food? song titles like Cookie, Almond Chocolate, Bubble Gum, Jellycious, they sound like something straight out of Weird Al Yankovic. BUT there's one kpop song I actually find good, it's Cupid from FiftyFifty, I think it's a really good song, levels above most kpop songs, ofc APT was a banger too but somehow I don’t really count it as full kpop. I'm not a fan of today's music in general either, we are so unfortunate to be living in an era where music fell hard. Another thing I'm not into is the dancing part, I personally find kpop choreography kinda cringy and I don't really feel entertained seeing people dancing. On another note, I believe idols should have more creative input, writing songs and pitching group concepts should be part of the auditions. Speaking of creativity, I feel like kpop industry had ditched it, when an agency creates a new group the concept isn't built on ideas or creativity, it's completely based on research, they analyzed what had already worked before and what had hooked people the most, and then apply those formulas to their new group. And to put the cherry on top, what I find strange in the kpop world is the label stan. I mean, how come people stan the labels more than the artists themselves, I guess outside kpop you’d never find anyone being an EMI stan or a Warner stan, then proceeding to write a whole essay defending them, and losing sleep when their stock price falls. In EVERY single live, I will always see comments saying; Where is *member name* - YOU GOT A NOTIFICATION SAYING AN IDOL IS LIVE ON THEIR ACCOUNT, MEANING THAT YOU WILL BE SEEING THAT MEMBER THAT WENT LIVE, NOT ANY OTHER IDOL OR MEMBER! SPEAK ENGLISH OPPAR - This actually pisses me off. They are a KOREAN idol, in a K-POP group, in the KOREAN industry. Stop asking idols to speak ENGLISH! If you want to know what they are saying so badly then learn KOREAN!! Why do people always expect non-english speakers to learn English?? Is *Ship name* real (or just shipping in general) - Stop, like actually STOP! Shipping 2 idols together is just weird, and even more weird when you keep mentioning it in a live chat!
