Hey folks! Over in r/kpop we just posted a new special Town Hall that is focused only on the Flairs we use to help organize our posts based on content categories. Link to r/kpop's 'All About Flairs' Town Hall We included announcements for new flairs here on r/kpoppers and also on r/kpophelp. The following is the section relevant for this subreddit. NEW FLAIRS! Connect - This flair will be used for anything where fans are trying to socially connect with each other. Announcing new K-Pop subreddits or Discords, looking for mutual fans on social media, wanting to meet up at a concert, seeking fans in a region to form a dance group, networking for a fan project, announcing a K-Pop night at a club, etc. Research - Academic surveys related to K-Pop or fandom topics. We'll keep an eye on these new flairs to see if they create any confusion or need adjustments. Let us know if you have any thoughts, concerns, or questions! submitted by /u/alleybetwixt [link] [comments]
The subreddit is mostly uncensored as long as people follow the rules. Generalizing statement about Korea, Korean society, etc or most other countries are not acceptable except under the following standards: The only claims that are acceptable when generalizing Korean society in this sub are those that bring up generalizable stastical claims by the standards of the international statistics institute. Not only do the vast majority of stastistics you can find on the internet about Korea not up to this minimum, basic standard but this requirement includes having ample sample size, blocking by relevant demographics and sometimes even double blind tests. So if you make a generalizing claim, your wording must be properly formatted and links to the relevant studies provided. In other words, the standard for making a generalization is very high in this sub. Not to mention the wording for your claim has to be properly made. Anyone who has taken a college level statistics class will know what I am talking about and we may even require you to provide the confidence level interval if it's relevant for your study. If you cannot meet these standards, I would just avoid doing it in general. submitted by /u/Kpop_Love_Forever [link] [comments]
Imagine there is a completely fair, neutral, and extremely knowledgeable judge. They do not know anything about k-pop or the people in it. You are to submit a vote to get your idol(s) considered for a list of best K-pop dancers. But the catch is that - you can only use ONE video per idol. One video to prove your case and showcase the idol’s dance skills. The song, stage, set, etc should not matter. Only the dance skills showcased. Which video are you picking? Note: Compilation videos cannot be used. There should only be a single dance item in the video. But if the idol did a special stage mashing up multiple songs into a single dance item, that is allowed. submitted by /u/Nephroku [link] [comments]

I don’t see a lot of it and honestly with how ruthless some people can be in these fandoms I’m terrified to post anything. Is it really that bad to post? I’d love to find other artists, but I’m really scared I’ll get made fun of because my art is bad. I really like kpop boy group songs and want to draw fanart of them but idk :( is it worth it? submitted by /u/DepthIntelligent3264 [link] [comments]

As the title says, on which albums do you like the title track the least? You don't need to dislike it, just prefer the b-sides. Right now, I can think of DUH! by P1Harmony from the album DUH! and Whiplash from aespa's album Whiplash. I really like both albums, but I just prefer the b-sides! Excited to hear y'all's opinions! submitted by /u/roses_are_rosie1206 [link] [comments]

In EVERY single live, I will always see comments saying; Where is *member name* - YOU GOT A NOTIFICATION SAYING AN IDOL IS LIVE ON THEIR ACCOUNT, MEANING THAT YOU WILL BE SEEING THAT MEMBER THAT WENT LIVE, NOT ANY OTHER IDOL OR MEMBER! SPEAK ENGLISH OPPAR - This actually pisses me off. They are a KOREAN idol, in a K-POP group, in the KOREAN industry. Stop asking idols to speak ENGLISH! If you want to know what they are saying so badly then learn KOREAN!! Why do people always expect non-english speakers to learn English?? Is *Ship name* real (or just shipping in general) - Stop, like actually STOP! Shipping 2 idols together is just weird, and even more weird when you keep mentioning it in a live chat! And shipping also ruins friendships. Like, please, just comment normal stuff!! Surely it isn't that hard?? submitted by /u/Ilovehuskies1111 [link] [comments]

The Korean lyrics are truly beautiful. This is very poetic. It seems like the lyrics were written by choosing the words that make the Korean language feel the most beautiful. I'm so sad that if it's translated into English, the original feeling doesn't come through completely. submitted by /u/Embarrassed_Clue1758 [link] [comments]
