What I've noticed a lot of shippers genuinely believe their faves are gay and dating the other member and when their fave is exposed for dating somebody else they feel betrayed and start making up random theory how the rumor isn't true. They end up harassing the guy/girl calling them all sort of names for ruining their fantasy or ship. Then the rest of fandom who still indenial or still shock will adopt their mentality or theory, repel the guy/girl and run with their made up narrative and spread it. I recently encountered a twt post saying Jennie cosplayed the girl in the video in the Paris just to post it in her Instagram. From saying those ppl are cosplayers, suddenly Jennie herself is also cosplaying the cosplayer. The amount of engagements those type of theory getting up to this day is so alarming cause they genuinely believe that's what happened and still villainizing the other party for it. The same case with every other fandom with die-hard gay shippers.. Most shippers don't ship these kpop idols for fun anymore but actually believe they real submitted by /u/Wrong_Winner_6255 [link] [comments]
I can't lie, I was expecting HYBE to release a new global girl group after Katseye's success.Tho I definetly wasn't expecting old members like Emily and Samara to be admitted(don't get me wrong, they have talent).Overrall I think the whole thing is so fast, how they released the news for less than a month and they're already getting the members.I honestly thought it would have been a boy group, but what do you guys think? submitted by /u/Particular-Rain116 [link] [comments]
I will go first If we feel like it's awkward and inappropriate to stan an idol due to just the age thing they should not debut in first place. JUST THINK ABOUT IT if you disagree I can't help argue with wall submitted by /u/Flat-Mulberry-656 [link] [comments]

In other words, when the music reflects what’s happening in the lyrics. I’ll start. I really like when songs use “splash” and the music abruptly stops. It sounds exactly like you just jumped into a pool haha. Some examples off the top of my head: Nostalgia - Drippin @ 0:25 Jaws - BAE173 @ 0:18 submitted by /u/MonacleTopHatPenguin [link] [comments]

Title sums up what I want to say but having finished the video like 4 times since it came out and I really found myself loving the fact that they were able to showcase their diverse discography in just 20 mins and the fact that they have more to offer is just even more awesome. Starting off the performance with their hard hitters like → leading into their more vocally intense tracks → sneaking in a whisper-heavy ear tickling track in Super Bowl → a three song gauntlet of their easy listening (and, as Jeongin coins it, their trash trio) songs and wrapping it up concert staples and their latest title track + a crowd pleaser track with In My Head to close it out. It felt like a great primer for anyone who wants to get into Stray Kids and a performance that hardcore fans can truly enjoy. I hope this performance reels in more people to take a dive into their discography. submitted by /u/Lofijunkieee [link] [comments]

I've seen people getting sad over their faves dating other people and claim they don't see them Romantically. i mean i believe them because some of the ppl i know who feels that way have long time partners IRL but it still makes me wonder so i m just rambling here. i know it's parasocial relationship, but what about exactly in parasocial relationship make someone feel sad or upset over their faves dating? In hollywood, most fans dgaf abt their favorite singers dating, but in kpop, it is such a big deal and it's crazy seeing the difference between the two industry. I feel like there is a huge difference but i just can't pinpoint it. do you think that apart from u healthy obsession or unhealthy parasocial relationship, abandonment issues is also involved? do you think it's the feeling of missing out- similar to how an irl friend who didn't tell u abt their latest relationship? is it the entitlement? or maybe it's how kpop marketed their idols? I'm curious to know your thoughts because i love learning other's perspective. submitted by /u/OpeningAmoeba4242 [link] [comments]
I won't get into the situation with that's happening with Jimin currently because there's so many things going on there, but it made me think about something that's been bothering me for a while. If male idols are going to hang out with female idols, date them, and quite literally beg for collaborations with them, they and their companies should be prepared to defend these women from their fans. Especially in the case of women working with male idols. It's ridiculous how "criticism" turns into thinly veiled misogyny every time without fail. You can argue that idols don't have control over their fans and I even agree to an extent, but it wouldn't take much effort to go on a platform and say "please leave this person alone". Of course, companies won't do this because they rely so much on parasocialism but I can't help but feel disappointed whenever this happens. And some idols absolutely have the power to intervene if they wanted to. submitted by /u/3urodyne [link] [comments]
I hope Rain counts as OG kpop… Was going through some old photos and stumbled on a little piece of nostalgia so thought I’d share it here. Back in 2003 my friend’s dad worked at a TV station so we got to visit a Music Bank recording. I ended up hanging out backstage and actually met Rain(Jung Jihoon) in the dressing room. He signed this for me and even took a photo together (though I have no idea where that picture went now) He was still a total rookie back then so I remember being able to chat with him quite a bit. Such a wild memory looking back! submitted by /u/Zestyclose-Land7135 [link] [comments]

I've been catching up on my video and SNS feed in general since not having access to it for a little while and I just finished/ almost finishing the interview featuring Baekhyun 'Baekhyun Puppy Video' and not only was it adorable, and his hair almost perfectly matched with the pink background (amazing colour matching job by the team lol), but it kinda got me curious about the process of the whole thing and if they ever talked or promoted the puppies. Basically what I mean is they usually have a various amount of celebrities including Western artists, come to do puppy or cat interviews, often promoting adoptable pets, cats/puppies from the L.A US area. I truly have various feelings in general against BuzzFeed but I really like this idea and have enjoyed many of their latest interviews, but for whatever reason I couldn't help but wonder what shelters they use, and or if a post has ever been made to promote and or thank the artist for the help in promoting those adoptable little ones? I'm not the biggest stats person or anything its just a thought that came to mind when watching the interview. I'm not the biggest on Twitter/Instagram so it is possible I've missed stuff like that. submitted by /u/Responsible-Box2876 [link] [comments]
Fredericksburg, VA, US resident here. Recent but very intense Once. I work overnight at a regional grocery store chain called Wegmans and they have the usual music that you hear in stores. You will randomly get a Dynamite, and of late I caught Moonlit Floor and Handlebars playing but BTS/BP have been mainstream radio play for a good minute here. So imagine my glee when on the playlist comes "it's Megan The Stallion...and Twice" Strategy came on the music! I caught OMG in Wawa one time but aside from BTS/BP songs and solos from those members I have never heard a K-Pop song on random retail playlist. I was so happy and wanted to share. submitted by /u/CocoabrothaSBB [link] [comments]

I actually listened to it and it's kind of weird. The songs are very similar. Xoxz, I don't really like it at all. Each song sometimes seems like art to me, and other times it seems boring and not original. Maybe I got carried away by the trailer, which was beautiful, and I was expecting a song like Accendio. What do you think? submitted by /u/denme_ropa [link] [comments]
