currently, boys 2 planet is airing and let's just say this show is a mess from the start. the k center is a bully, the chinese trainees are mistreated, the inconsistent judges (or they call masters here), the blatant favoritism and bias. I'm not saying all those should be normalized but they literally happen in every damn survival shows, especially the ones from mnet. they are horrible, through and thorough. I don't know what people were expecting. since the produce series, all this bad stuff keeps happening. at this point people should just give it up. don't watch. just wait until the next episodes and you will see the performances trending again and people will continue watching. not to mention whiplash will be performed by some of the most popular trainees. they said the first season was better like hell no I didn't even watch it but the stuff trending on Twitter with many negative comments, I remember them. the vibe wasn't anything different. kpop fans have selective memory after all. this feels so much like going back to your ex and expecting different ending but are only met with the same damn situation all over again submitted by /u/prettyokayfornows [link] [comments]

The show's name is BOYS PLANET II (?) and the contestants had performed really well and the judges said that they looked like veterans BUT that they couldn't get ALL STARS (I think it refers to full points) because of their visuals and overall physique I absolutely hate these remarks because all this 'visuals over talent' will inevitably end up destroying the industry sooner than later. Saw a comment of someone calling Jungkook stupid and ugly and ... I mean I don't have anything else to say but "are we seriously normalizing hate?". Before you say "no one did anything when the black pink snark was created", I didn't know about that. Regardless, hate, misogyny, it's never okay. I was made more aware of these things after the BTS snark sub was created but I think the black pink one is ridiculous too. I just wish snark subs were genuine criticism instead of just plain hate. apparently some people misunderstood my first post so let me clarify. i’ve been a fan of wonyoung since the IZ\ONE* days — i genuinely admire her, she’s been my bias for years. but i’ve noticed that lately, if someone says anything that isn’t 100% praise, even in a respectful way, it’s immediately labeled as hate. under a video where she did a lowkey cringey aegyo, i said something like: “i love her, but this one was a little cringe ngl 😭” and that was enough to get backlash. people saying: “just scroll.” “don’t say that under fan posts.” “you’re just a hater.” like… what?? i literally said i love her. i didn’t attack her. i just made a lighthearted comment about a specific moment — not her as a person. since when does being a fan mean acting like the person is perfect 24/7? idols are human. sometimes they’ll do something that feels awkward, and that’s completely normal. noticing that doesn’t mean i suddenly hate her. So here are some things I want to make clear 👉🏽 Before anyone says “you knew people would be hyping her up, why go there to say something different?” That is the problem. If fan spaces only allow praise and shut down any other emotion — even respectful ones — then it’s not a fan space anymore. It’s just a worship circle. Saying something like “that moment was a little cringe” isn’t hate — it’s nuance. And if nuance isn’t allowed… then you’re not defending a person, you’re defending a fantasy. 👉🏽 “But you were in the wrong environment for that comment!” If we’re now expecting people to “read the room” and say only what the majority wants to hear, isn’t that literally how echo chambers work? Should I only give my opinion where it won’t make anyone uncomfortable — even if I say it kindly and constructively? 👉🏽 “You could’ve just scrolled.” That logic works both ways. If my comment bothers you, you could’ve scrolled too. You chose to engage — just like I did. 👉🏽 “Saying ‘I love x BUT’ is just a shield to hate.” No. That’s what people say when they actually like someone but are being honest about a specific thing. K-pop fans need to stop assuming every mildly critical comment is an attack. I'm not an anti — I just don't pretend my bias is flawless every second of the day. This whole experience made me realize how hard it’s become to even be slightly honest without being shut down. I wasn’t rude, I wasn’t mean. I said something genuine — and suddenly I’m the villain? Maybe it’s time for fan spaces to stop being allergic to respectful disagreement. I think.. Jikookers and their misgendering of Jimin had crossed boundaries.. They're not just comfortable with misgendering him but they're homophobic! They claim jungkook would never be with a man while shipping jikook? Yesterday X (Twitter) was a mess. Jikookers were claiming big muscles means = straight and jungkook having big muscles means he's definitely straight and would never be with a man while shipping him with Jimin who is a MAN? So jikookers admitted they see Jimin as a "feminine boy" because they want him to be a woman alike for Jungkook and not because "they want to accept him the way he is" ?? They're not even trying to hide their homophobia.. They're shipping jikook as a heterosexual couple and aren't even ashamed yet they call everyone homophobic for not believing jikook are real and for stating Jimin is into women (not assuming anything but as far as I know, he had shown attraction towards women) ?
