3.068. Why Don't SM Report Their Touring Numbers

  • 3 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

So, I've seen that other companies like Hybe, JYP and YG report the touring numbers for their groups, but not SM , and this is why SM groups are never on Billboards lists whenever they announce the highest grossing K-Pop concerts within a year. All I could find was for NCT127 was The Neo City Origin Tour numbers, the Newark and Mexico City dates from the Link tour. For Aespa, all I could find was the LA date for the Synk Hyper Line Tour. And for NCT Dream, all I could find was their London show for their In A Dream Tour submitted by /u/cwarosvski [link] [comments]

3.069. My experience at ATEEZ Orlando Day 1 and Day 2

Omg the concert was so good ! Everything from the pre show all the way to the ending show for both nights. This was me first ever ateez and kpop concert and I'm so glad I went to see the boys in person. I went to Day 1 and Day 2. Day 1 was my first planned ticket where I was able to get middle section with a great view. After Day 1 i decided to do day 2 and experience them one last time before leaving Orlando. My phone was dying and storage was low Day 1 so this was also a opportunity to record what I couldn't. Orlando Atiny really went crazy for all the boys. Barking and screaming for all 8 of them and their solos. Hongjoon switching up NO1 with Latin beats to represent the Latino culture in Florida. San really giving into our ( my ) fantasy by changing his outfit for Day 2 and wearing just a leather jacket for his solo. Mingi, San, Seonghwa, wooyoung, and yunho going crazy on stage whenever they have the chance, as well as Wooyoung and Mingi fighting on who can out rizz each other. It was also amazing hearing jonho sing live and hearing his beautiful voice for all the songs. Getting into the Kia center was actually surprisingly easy and there was legit no long lines going into the center for the show. My only problem with the kia center was how pushy the staff were when it came to the show ending and hurrying people out. The merch prices were crazy for apparel and payed 70 for a tour shirt. I really wanted the member jerseys but I don't think I want to spend $90 on a shirt. I got my first lightstick from the pop-up event that was cheapest one and allowed me to feel more engaged with the crowd and songs. Overall really enjoyed it and can't wait to see them again next tour if I can. I'm also glad the boys were able to go to Disney without any trouble for it being too hot for them. submitted by /u/MochaMilku [link] [comments]

3.070. With Us entertainment management of their idols

Hello, Wheein of MAMAMOO has joined with us entertainment! Since they will now be label mates with other idols, could fans of idol groups or solo idols under the label, share a few insights about the company? How do promotions work for comeback? How frequent are solo activities from comebacks, to variety appearances, to fanmeets/concerts and etc.? Are there many interactions between label mates? What about solo youtube content? Have there been any controversies with the company? Any insights would be very much appreciated. submitted by /u/MasterHospital [link] [comments]

3.071. KATSEYE hate is ridiculous & forced

  • 3 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

It's one thing to dislike group's discography, performance or finding the members irksome. There's thousands — if not millions — kpop fans all over the world and it's simply impossible for them to have the same taste in music. However, there are certain people, who can't stand that the groups they dislike are going great and possibly even greater than their favs. This is especially true when it comes to KATSEYE, which brings us today's discussion. 2025 has been an amazing year for KATSEYE and they definitely dominated both, kpop AND western scene with their songs Gnarly and Gabriela. And before anyone gets too excited to shade me in the comments: ‼️ I know the group is considered local, but they are obviously using kpop methology in their training system, music style and so on. (Not mentioning they were literally formed by HYBE Corporation) Also, they are well loved by kpop industry and have most of their fanbase located there. ‼️ Now that we've got that settled, let's get to the real thing. Tiktok has been a literal HELL over the past few weeks, poisoned by KATSEYE haters. The comments are insane and range from RACISM to SEXISM to music critique. And so much more. Let's discuss some of the most common reasons the girls get hated on: 🥉~ "The music is ahh. The lyrics have zero meaning, choreography makes them look like tryhards and the concept is cringe." ~ Again, not everybody is going to like same things in music and that's okay. The thing is, most people (esp. haters) are pointing obvious symbols/signs of kpop music, calling it "trash". Like any music genre, kpop differs from other types of music—especially WESTERN music. Remember Zimzalabim by RV? Ring Ding Dong by SHINee? Hell, remember ANY older songs from SHINee? In my head, that's what kpop sounds like. Sure, we have a number of amazing westernised singles by some kpop groups, but those are exceptions rather than standard. Kpop is kpop and while it's plenty diverse, I believe that at its core it's a bit cuckoo. 🤷🏽‍♀️ If you ain't embarrassed to play kpop to your friends & family, are you really a stan? 🥈 SEXISM. Yes, unfortunately a very common thing among GGs. I mean, why are people hating on Manon because she apparently "can't shake it like the others"? Why are people doing videos zooming in on Lara's chest and discussing her "breast reduction"? Let the girls breathe, damn. And all of the "it's about the performance" and "people had always talked about plastic surgeries on idols" is NOT SAVING YALL. Could you remind me a time, when we dragged male idols because of their "thrust game"? Have you ever heard something as ridiculous as "He shouldn't be in the group if he can't thrust during the dance as others. Like come on, it's supposed to be more aggressive. 😠" No you haven't. Why? Because your body is only your business if you're a male. And in kpop, sometimes even that isn't a norm. This is NOT about the performance or wellbeing of the girls. This is pure sexualisation and sexism. Thank you, next. 🥇And the big winner is RACISM. This is going to be frank. Just 3 points are enough for this topic: How are you gonna be racist in the big 2025 towards a MIXED group? 💔🥀 I fear, everyone already knows they ain't white, no need to do Tiktoks about it. I'm so sorry to inform you, but if someone from the committee said Manon is naturally talented, it doesn't mean other (white) contestants were at disadvantage and she got in the group only because she's black. (This "theory" is very much real and comes from Tiktok) People saying thay Yoonchae is not one of them, as if other members are some kind of animals. 🤨 Please, are we seriously that obsessed with race that we can't acknowledge beauty and talent beyond Korean and white people? Do better. Honestly, that's all for today. Thank you for coming to my Tedtalk. 💜 submitted by /u/screepybaby [link] [comments]

3.073. every survival shows I have seen are always full with 'I will drop this show' post-episode discussion but nothing is actually affected

  • 3 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

currently, boys 2 planet is airing and let's just say this show is a mess from the start. the k center is a bully, the chinese trainees are mistreated, the inconsistent judges (or they call masters here), the blatant favoritism and bias. I'm not saying all those should be normalized but they literally happen in every damn survival shows, especially the ones from mnet. they are horrible, through and thorough. I don't know what people were expecting. since the produce series, all this bad stuff keeps happening. at this point people should just give it up. don't watch. just wait until the next episodes and you will see the performances trending again and people will continue watching. not to mention whiplash will be performed by some of the most popular trainees. they said the first season was better like hell no I didn't even watch it but the stuff trending on Twitter with many negative comments, I remember them. the vibe wasn't anything different. kpop fans have selective memory after all. this feels so much like going back to your ex and expecting different ending but are only met with the same damn situation all over again submitted by /u/prettyokayfornows [link] [comments]

3.074. What are your opinions about judging like this?

  • 3 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

https://reddit.com/link/1m95zvi/video/1u3xvz9n52ff1/player for some context, the judge's name is Jaejoong and he is an ex-member of an SM group called TVXQ and was black-listed. The show's name is BOYS PLANET II (?) and the contestants had performed really well and the judges said that they looked like veterans BUT that they couldn't get ALL STARS (I think it refers to full points) because of their visuals and overall physique I absolutely hate these remarks because all this 'visuals over talent' will inevitably end up destroying the industry sooner than later. What are your thoughts about this? submitted by /u/hellhound_1505 [link] [comments]

3.075. Snark subs are just normalized hate farms

  • 3 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Saw a comment of someone calling Jungkook stupid and ugly and ... I mean I don't have anything else to say but "are we seriously normalizing hate?". Before you say "no one did anything when the black pink snark was created", I didn't know about that. Regardless, hate, misogyny, it's never okay. I was made more aware of these things after the BTS snark sub was created but I think the black pink one is ridiculous too. I just wish snark subs were genuine criticism instead of just plain hate. Even the definition of snark is being critical or sarcastic. But these people are just terrible and I mean both the bp misgoynists, and the BTS haters. submitted by /u/No-Gap-8654 [link] [comments]

3.081. You Can Love an Idol and Still Be Real About Them

  • 3 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

apparently some people misunderstood my first post so let me clarify. i’ve been a fan of wonyoung since the IZ\ONE* days — i genuinely admire her, she’s been my bias for years. but i’ve noticed that lately, if someone says anything that isn’t 100% praise, even in a respectful way, it’s immediately labeled as hate. under a video where she did a lowkey cringey aegyo, i said something like: “i love her, but this one was a little cringe ngl 😭” and that was enough to get backlash. people saying: “just scroll.” “don’t say that under fan posts.” “you’re just a hater.” like… what?? i literally said i love her. i didn’t attack her. i just made a lighthearted comment about a specific moment — not her as a person. since when does being a fan mean acting like the person is perfect 24/7? idols are human. sometimes they’ll do something that feels awkward, and that’s completely normal. noticing that doesn’t mean i suddenly hate her. So here are some things I want to make clear 👉🏽 Before anyone says “you knew people would be hyping her up, why go there to say something different?” That is the problem. If fan spaces only allow praise and shut down any other emotion — even respectful ones — then it’s not a fan space anymore. It’s just a worship circle. Saying something like “that moment was a little cringe” isn’t hate — it’s nuance. And if nuance isn’t allowed… then you’re not defending a person, you’re defending a fantasy. 👉🏽 “But you were in the wrong environment for that comment!” If we’re now expecting people to “read the room” and say only what the majority wants to hear, isn’t that literally how echo chambers work? Should I only give my opinion where it won’t make anyone uncomfortable — even if I say it kindly and constructively? 👉🏽 “You could’ve just scrolled.” That logic works both ways. If my comment bothers you, you could’ve scrolled too. You chose to engage — just like I did. 👉🏽 “Saying ‘I love x BUT’ is just a shield to hate.” No. That’s what people say when they actually like someone but are being honest about a specific thing. K-pop fans need to stop assuming every mildly critical comment is an attack. I'm not an anti — I just don't pretend my bias is flawless every second of the day. This whole experience made me realize how hard it’s become to even be slightly honest without being shut down. I wasn’t rude, I wasn’t mean. I said something genuine — and suddenly I’m the villain? Maybe it’s time for fan spaces to stop being allergic to respectful disagreement. You can love someone and still say, “eh, that one thing didn’t hit.” i think real fans are able to say: “i love her, and that moment wasn’t for me.” that’s not hate. that’s being honest. and if that’s not allowed anymore, then maybe the problem isn’t the opinion — it’s how fragile some corners of stan culture have become. submitted by /u/Distinct-Egg-7973 [link] [comments]

3.085. I think shippers have gone so far with shipping...

I think.. Jikookers and their misgendering of Jimin had crossed boundaries.. They're not just comfortable with misgendering him but they're homophobic! They claim jungkook would never be with a man while shipping jikook? Yesterday X (Twitter) was a mess. Jikookers were claiming big muscles means = straight and jungkook having big muscles means he's definitely straight and would never be with a man while shipping him with Jimin who is a MAN? So jikookers admitted they see Jimin as a "feminine boy" because they want him to be a woman alike for Jungkook and not because "they want to accept him the way he is" ?? They're not even trying to hide their homophobia.. They're shipping jikook as a heterosexual couple and aren't even ashamed yet they call everyone homophobic for not believing jikook are real and for stating Jimin is into women (not assuming anything but as far as I know, he had shown attraction towards women) ? I think it's time people get rid of them.. I'm not sorry Jimin is a MAN and he's definitely NOT a ship tool for none of bts members... submitted by /u/S0larecl1pse1 [link] [comments]
