Hello everyone! We are excited to take a trip back in time to revisit some K-Pop classics once again, continuing with this rate, the "Early Gen 3" Girl Groups Rate! (If you haven't already, make sure to join r/kpoprates to ensure that you stay updated on future rate-related posts!) Quick Links: Ballot submission: Link to Reddit Chat to message a ballot // Ballot template (Google Docs ver.) // Ballot template (Pastebin) Playlists: Spotify // Youtube (Audio ver.) // Youtube (Lyrics ver.) // Youtube (MV ver.) Deadline: July 7th (Monday), 11:59 Pacific (Link to a timezone converter) How the songs were selected: We used the /r/kpop Top Ten Tuesdays results to grab the most adored songs from each of the artists on Reddit, and we also had a songlist feedback survey on /r/kpoprates to help decide the songlist! Now, without further ado, let's introduce the 55 songs (& 7 bonus songs) that were selected for this rate, ordered chronologically for each artist (artists were also ordered by debut date): . Spica: Russian Roulette You Don’t Love Me EXID: Every Night Up & Down Ah Yeah Hot Pink Night Rather Than Day DDD I Love You HelloVenus: Wiggle Wiggle I’m ill Mysterious Crayon Pop: Bar Bar Bar AOA: Miniskirt Short Hair Like a Cat Heart Attack Good Luck 10 Seconds Excuse Me FIESTAR: One More You’re Pitiful Ladies’ Code: Pretty Pretty Galaxy The Rain BESTie: Love Options Excuse me Mamamoo: Piano Man You’re the Best Décalcomanie Starry Night Egotistic Wind Flower Gogobebe HIP Laboum: Journey to Atlantis Hwi Hwi Lovelyz: Ah-Choo Destiny WoW! Now, We That Day Sonamoo: Friday Night GFriend: Me Gustas Tu Rough Navillera Fingertip Time For The Moon Night Apple Mago Brave Girls: Deepened Rollin’ We Ride Chi Mat Ba Ram After We Ride . Bonus Rate: The bonus rate is basically an extension of the main rate! There were several songs that received high praise during the songlist feedback survey that still were barely not able to make the main rate, so we have put them into the bonus rate here to give them a chance to be rated. . EXID - Lady HelloVenus - Venus Crayon Pop - FM Fiestar - Mirror Ladies’ Code - Bad Girl Laboum - Between Us GFriend - Labyrinth . The Bonus Rate is optional and you do not have to submit a score for every song in the bonus list if you do it: you can score none of them, all of them, or any number in between. You cannot give a 0 or 11 to any song in the bonus, as they are not part of the main rate. While it is optional, we hope you consider participating. Spotify playlist YouTube playlist (MV version) YouTube playlist (Audio version) YouTube playlist (Lyrics version) Rules: You must listen to and assign a score to EVERY song listed. If your ballot is missing any scores it will not be eligible and you'll be sent a message asking you to fill in the missing scores. Each song should be assigned a score between 1 to 10. Decimals up to one point are allowed but any further is a no-no – 6.9 is fine, but 6.99 is not. You can use ONE 0 and ONE 11 for the entirety of the rate, for your least favorite and most favorite song respectively - they are optional but HIGHLY encouraged if you feel some type of way about any given song! Comments are also encouraged but not required for such scores (except if you give a song a 0). Comments are encouraged and much appreciated (but not required, except for if you give a 0) and can be added to any song by simply typing after the numerical score, like so: Hip: 2.4 Ofc the title track that utilizes Mamamoo's vocal power the least ends up becoming the most popular (yells angrily at cloud) This is the ONLY correct way to format a comment. Please do not include colons (ex. 9: I stan!), dashes (ex. 3.3 - This song sucks), or any other symbol after your score/before your comment as it breaks the program. You can also give comments for individual artists! Just write your comment after the :, such as the following: EXID: Are they pronounced like "exit" or are you supposed to say every letter separately? I'll never know For this rate and most future rates, we have a ballot average minimum of 4.00. In addition, if your ballot average is between 4.00-5.50, you must leave comments on your lower scores (which we define as any score that's a 3 or lower). {Do not worry about having to calculate your ballot average, once you submit your ballot, we will tell you if you need to make changes to your ballot for it to be accepted.} SUBMITTING A BALLOT: * Link to Reddit Chat to message a ballot As Reddit is (unfortunately) moving away from the private messaging system in favor of utilizing the Reddit chat system, we are forced to also adopt the Reddit chat system for messaging. You can make a copy of either the Google Docs or Pastebin ballot templates below, add your scores on your local copy/file, and send the link to your local copy/file in your Reddit Chat message to u/KpopRates_Ghost. * Google Docs ballot template * Pastebin ballot template Google spreadsheet template that you can use to calculate averages, record scores, and make predictions Alternatively, if you have Discord, you can message the link to your ballot to both the rate hosts, @Zypker124 and @aidshha. Articles / Timeline 250422 This day marks one year since HYBE launched their audit of Min Hee Jin and ADOR's management. Happy(?) 1st anniversary of the Megathreads! 250502 The 3rd hearing for Min Hee Jin vs. Belift Lab was set to take place but postponed to July 18th at Belift Lab's request. Each side is due to present their arguments/documents regarding plagiarism issues at the next meeting. (Source: Maeil Kyungjae) 250530 We learned that ADOR had filed for 'indirect enforcement' after their injunction was granted and NewJeans performed at ComplexCon back in March (Filed on April 4th according to the statement from NewJeans' representatives linked below). On the 30th, the 52nd Division of the Seoul Central District court further granted this request. The 'indirect enforcement' ruling means that each individual member of NewJeans will be fined 1 billion won (approx. $725,000) if they continue with entertainment activities independent of ADOR, which would be in violation of the injunction. This enforcement with potential fines does NOT apply to any of NewJeans' independent activities between the granting of the injunction and the granting of this 'indirect enforcement'. These fines will only apply to future activities going forward, or at least until rulings with NewJeans' appeal or the main contract validity case changes anything (next hearing on June 5th). (Source: Chosun Biz, MK Sports) The Korea Herald: Court orders NewJeans to pay Ador 1 billion won for each unauthorized activity Discussion Post Korea JoongAng Daily: Court orders NewJeans members to pay ADOR $725,600 for every independent entertainment activity A statement by NewJeans' representatives was made later in the day primarily acknowledging the indirect enforcement ruling, but reiterating that it is temporary and will no longer have an effect if NewJeans win their appeal of the injunction. (Source: Ilgan Sports) The 2nd hearing for Source Music's damages lawsuit against Min Hee Jin took place at the 12th Civil Affairs Division of the Seoul Western District Court. (Quick recap: 1st was January 10th, 2nd was previously scheduled for March 14th, postponed per Source Music's request). Legal representatives were present. Source Music had a 20-minute presentation prepared, but Min Hee Jin's representatives objected to the inclusion of KakaoTalk messages in the presentation. They claimed the messages were illegally obtained and requested the hearing to be closed/private. Source Music denied the messages were obtained illegally, claiming they were gained from company devices with consent. The court went with a temporary compromise to keep the hearing public, but not allow discussion/display of the messages until they were reviewed again. A special hearing to review the messages will take place June 27th. (Source: Sports Today) 250605 The Seoul Central District Court Division 41 held the second hearing for ADOR seeking confirmation of validity for their exclusive contract with NewJeans. Only legal representatives were in attendance. NewJeans' side primarily argued that ADOR had not met their obligations and that their evidence they were preparing to support NewJeans' activities, like finding a new producer, was inadequate. ADOR's side argued that NewJeans' reasons for allegedly terminating their contract continually changed, indicating they are arbitrary and being made up with retroactive hindsight. The issue of some evidence being collected illegally also came up again from NewJeans' side. Judge Jung Hoe-Il specifically inquired if both/either sides were willing to come to an agreement, encouraging them to do so. NewJeans' representatives strongly indicated this was unlikely as the trust in ADOR had completely collapsed. ADOR's representatives indicated they could see negotiating an agreement once the court comes to a final decision. The 3rd hearing was set for July 24th. (Sources: X Sport News, Maeil Kyungjae) 250612 The next hearing regarding the Shareholder Agreement termination and exercising put/call options lawsuits between HYBE and Min Hee Jin was held at the Seoul Central District Court's 31st Division. Arguments from each side mostly re-tread what we've already covered. HYBE's side argued they were justified in ending the shareholder agreement due to the threat Min Hee Jin posed to the company. Min Hee Hin's side argued the timing of the audit/termination did not align purely with that concern and that some KakaoTalk messages and emails were obtained illegally and not admissable as evidence. HYBE also indicated they had a witness to give testimony at the next meeting, which the court accepted. The next hearing with closing arguments, was set for September 11th for both lawsuits. (Sources: Maeil Kyungjae, TV Daily, Sports Today) 250617 Following up from April 16th when NewJeans appealed the court's decision to uphold the injunction and halt on their independent activities, the Seoul High Court reaffirmed the earlier decision. The court rejected NewJeans' appeal. They determined there was no significant change in the material/arguments presented for the appeal and the original decision to grant ADOR's injunction was justified. There was further clarification that the management conflict between HYBE and Min Hee Jin, and her no longer being NewJeans' producer, did not constitute a valid argument for the alleged collapse of trust between ADOR and NewJeans. The group's withdrawal from ADOR is considered arbitrary, that their artistic freedom or activity is not impeded since they are able to do so within their exclusive contract, and that any damages resulting from attempting independent activities are self-inflicted. He stands against everything Kpop stands for which is an art form from a formerly colonized people from a country that is rising up against colonialism and hatred. The subreddit is mostly uncensored as long as people follow the rules. Generalizing statement about Korea, Korean society, etc or most other countries are not acceptable except under the following standards: The only claims that are acceptable when generalizing Korean society in this sub are those that bring up generalizable stastical claims by the standards of the international statistics institute. Not only do the vast majority of stastistics you can find on the internet about Korea not up to this minimum, basic standard but this requirement includes having ample sample size, blocking by relevant demographics and sometimes even double blind tests. So if you make a generalizing claim, your wording must be properly formatted and links to the relevant studies provided. In other words, the standard for making a generalization is very high in this sub. Not to mention the wording for your claim has to be properly made. Anyone who has taken a college level statistics class will know what I am talking about and we may even require you to provide the confidence level interval if it's relevant for your study. If you cannot meet these standards, I would just avoid doing it in general. submitted by /u/Kpop_Love_Forever [link] [comments]

IZNA's Sarang and Red Velvet's Wendy are looking really alike lately!! Am I crazy, or do you see it too???? (Wendy is one of my utts, so maybe they don't look that much alike, but I know Wendy's face so well that I see a bit of her in everyone or something lol) I think it might be the eyes and the face shape...?? submitted by /u/cool_username14 [link] [comments]
IMO, the fact that txt doesn’t have stage names is really nice. It makes them seem more genuine and makes it easier to communicate with them since they aren’t hidden under a stage persona. I wish more groups would have members that use their actual names in performances instead of a stage one. submitted by /u/Effective_Cash9085 [link] [comments]
i’m just wondering about your opinion. like let’s say they have good stage presence, passion, and a wonderful personality. but, their natural singing voice is “meh”. is it forgivable? im asking cuz i wanted to be an idol when i was younger, but my natural vocal colour isn’t that great. submitted by /u/Seyna_Dreamy [link] [comments]
┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓ Hey everyone, Twice is back with a special album to commemorate their 10th anniversary as a group. Being a Kpop group for 10 years is an accomplishment and something that should be celebrated with any group. Before I hop into the project, I made a list of all the Twice album reviews I’ve done since I started reviewing music. As someone who has been a Once since 2015, I’m excited to explore this album and see what all the members have done with the record. Now let’s jump in as we celebrate the 10 years of Twice. ┗━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┛ https://preview.redd.it/50tpg4pqwbuf1.jpg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cb902bb898994aa77b12a5c5d50bd1d6b0c488cf Past Twice Review Blogs: Twice First Full Album Twice Is In Love Summer With Twice Like Bulldozer, Like A Tank Twice!! Me + You The opening song on the album is the title track, which all the members helped co-write. The song is an R&B-pop tune that feels like it came right out of the 2000s. The members bring in smooth vocals that blend with the bouncy instrumental. I love the groovy nature that the tune delivers, fitting the lyrics. The hook has been stuck in my head as the lyrics and melody help make it catchy. Momo and Chae do a little rap that adds to the overall vibe of the song. The members' vocals hit hard on this tune, pulling everything together. The message of this tune hits as well as you can tell that this group has a bond and how much they’ve grown over the years since their debut back in 2015. Me + You opens up this project perfectly as everything fits together wonderfully. https://preview.redd.it/ohtrd38zwbuf1.jpg?width=678&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b6c24548329e1b7c3ddc10200fec4202702ded41 ━━━━━━━━☓ ━━━━━━━ MEEEEEE (NAYEON) After the title track, we get the first solo on the record one from Nayeon, which I’ve been excited about. I’ve been a big fan of her solo output since Pop! and was curious to see what MEEEEEE would be bringing to the table. MEEEEEEgoes for this bouncy-pop tune that has some tongue-in-cheek lyrics. The vocals are smooth, fitting the pop nature perfectly as they help make this one catchy tune. I wonder if this song was a leftover from her Na album she has already released, cause it feels like it could’ve been on that project. I’ve been having this tune on repeat today since it’s one that has been stuck in my head, and one that I can’t stop humming the melody. https://preview.redd.it/nwkjr867xbuf1.jpg?width=716&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d061ece163fe5269e9f5ea40d4a078f0376b9118 ━━━━━━━━☓ ━━━━━━━ FIX A DRINK (JEONGYEON) Jeongyeon is the second solo on the album and one of the most interesting tracks. Jeongyeon’s solo goes for this country-pop tune, reminding me of Austin by Dasha. The guitar definitely has that country vibe, fitting with the smooth vocals from Jeongyeon. The lyrics have bits of a country twang to them that help paint the picture that the singer is delivering. The hook keeps pulling me back for more as I’m enjoying that section a lot. Jeonhyeon fits this country vibe perfectly, as this might be the best country-sounding song that has come out of Korea. If you think Jeongyeon can’t sing, listen to this track, cause she has a beautiful voice. https://preview.redd.it/36mon75fxbuf1.jpg?width=2669&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5cb6f6d5dc5f07cdb570eae473d86decbd477cf1 ━━━━━━━━☓ ━━━━━━━ MOVE LIKE THAT (MOMO) Momo delivers the third solo on the album, fitting this dance-pop-sounding beat. Momo brings in a slick vocal performance that fits the thumping bass and synth. The hook has been growing on me with each listen, as I’m starting to like that section. Momo does give us a little rap that adds to the overall vibe of the tune, which works wonderfully with his voice. I find that Momo fits the best with a Dance-pop sound, as it lets her use a deeper tone that we don’t get to hear from her that much. I will say I like a deeper tone from Momo than her squeaky tone she normally does. https://preview.redd.it/75iu1twkxbuf1.jpg?width=266&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=64f65bd24610440aa1fa23bfcaccb80887f317a5 ━━━━━━━━☓ ━━━━━━━ DECAFFEINATED (SANA) Sana delivers the fourth solo on the album, one that has a tropical vibe to it that works well with her voice. Sana has a sweet voice that fits with this tropical-dance-pop beat like crazy. The hook has a smooth vibe that fits the performance perfectly. I wasn’t sure what type of song Sana would be going for, but after hearing it, I find that this tropical-dance-pop vibe fits her wonderfully, and this is another song on the album that is growing on me just like the Momo solo. This new Sana solo is just as good as Mirage, which was on the Misamo album. https://preview.redd.it/46m554vrxbuf1.jpg?width=266&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=741c47abbceee0e0632641ccc49c1045a8e2a3aa ━━━━━━━━☓ ━━━━━━━ ATM (JIHYO) The fifth solo on the album is from Jihyo, who goes for this slick-saltry-R&B tune that hits hard. Jihyo’s performance has a bit of a swag nature that blends with her voice. I love the delivery of the vocals as Jihyo hits some slick notes that blend with the smooth instrumental. The hook is smooth, just like the verses that keep pulling me back for more. Jihyo is a great vocalist, and this is another tune she dominates, even in the lyrics. The thumping nature of the bass adds to the vibe of the tune, which is helping get this song stuck in my head. The bridge is another section that hits hard as Jihyo hits some fantastic notes. https://preview.redd.it/4lczla0xxbuf1.jpg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8f86f8b12fa0602c4a90bfcb8c774aac576bc13b ━━━━━━━━☓ ━━━━━━━ STONE COLD (MINA) For the sixth solo on the album, Mina delivers this dark-pop tune that I didn’t expect from Mina. Mina’s slick voice hits hard with the dark nature of the instrumental. The groove the instrumental delivers is something that fits the delivery of the vocal performance. I might like this dark-pop tune from Mina a little more than Misty, but that was still a great song. The hook has this experimental vibe that adds to the overall vibe. Mina does a great job with her solo, which I will be having this track on repeat. https://preview.redd.it/6keh8zo1ybuf1.jpg?width=2001&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2b2edf7dd131fbf52021772f9d40a335af5850d7 ━━━━━━━━☓ ━━━━━━━ 8. CHESS (DAHYUN) Dahyun’s solo on the album turns Für Elise into a trap tune, which I didn’t expect. Dahyun delivers a killer performance that fits perfectly with the Für Elise sample. The hook is pretty catchy thanks to the sample the producers used. The thumping trap vibe moves the tune forward, blending with the vocals from the singer. During the bridge, Dahyun spits a rap that I didn’t expect at all, but it works wonderfully with the vibe. With each listen to Chess, I find myself falling in love with it even more as Dahyun keeps impressing me. https://preview.redd.it/vc5itl48ybuf1.jpg?width=278&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e4c7fbb204bb198bc83257265ac273b0541a3d3b ━━━━━━━━☓ ━━━━━━━ 9. IN MY ROOM (CHAEYOUNG) Now, long ago, we heard Chaeyoung’s first solo album, one that went for an indie-pop sound that I didn’t expect. For her new song, she goes for a dream-pop sound with vocals that feel a bit pitched. At first, I didn’t like the vocals much, but I’m starting to get used to them. Chae’s performance fits the dream synth-pop melody that works with the singer. The hook is bouncy with its dreamy nature, which I think fits the singer the best. I have always found Chae the most different out of the group, and he solo music shows that she likes a different kind of sound than the rest of the group, but it’s something that works for her. https://preview.redd.it/0czw3xtcybuf1.jpg?width=275&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f9a75148990e1df4afcf1bb8a862e73ae8c31209 ━━━━━━━━☓ ━━━━━━━ 10. DIVE IN (TZUYU) Tzuyu closes out the album with an R&B-pop tune that works perfectly with her sweet voice. Tzuyu fits wonderfully with the high hats, the moves, and this bouncy tune perfectly. The hook is slick and smooth as Tzuyu brings in a sweet tone that adds to the mix. I feel like this solo from Tzuyu hit differently than what we got on her solo album, which I enjoyed a lot. DIVE IN closes out the album in an excellent way that makes this project complete. https://preview.redd.it/9qoha78hybuf1.jpg?width=2000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9a6e661ba1049ca5070f43df9bcba9eea1bf11c5 ┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓ Summary: Twice released a special album that I had a fun time listening to, as it felt like a celebration of the ten years of being a group. The members do a great job with their solo’s impressing me a lot. Jeongyeon goes for this country-pop vibe that I wasn’t expecting at all, but it works wonderfully with her voice. Nayeon gave us a catchy pop solo that I know will be stuck in my head like crazy. Dahyun hit hard with the classical sample her solo brought to the table. All the solos on the project brought something to the table, and they are all ones that I will be having on repeat as I continue to celebrate ten years of Twice. ┗━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┛ https://preview.redd.it/7s03omakybuf1.jpg?width=1292&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=af3b402610c5ad9f7f35986e80c1ed7d097dcd83 submitted by /u/Maltifandom23 [link] [comments]
I'm digging up old stuff I know (this being downvoted wouldn't surprise me and if it does it's fine lol), but is anyone still so dumbfounded by this? 2 of the biggest idols of the biggest kpop groups, being seen walking hand in hand together. Tons of evidence to support it was 99% them, and yet fans decided to.... mass delude themselves into believing they were cosplayers? Look, if they can play parasocial, so will I for a second; that walk and posture in the video was very Taehyung lol. I guess I got reminded of this incident because of the whole 'Jennie, Kai and Taehyung' incident this week of them all going to Paris lol, and for some reason, so many comments were once again stuff like "why is Taehyung dragged into this, they never dated". (and ofcourse they are ALWAYS Taekook shippers lmao). Anyway, I just think it's funny how these fans will act like they know their idols the best, up until it gets a bit too real for them and then all of a sudden they all are apparently in desperate need of a pair of glasses. submitted by /u/Due_Improvement_5699 [link] [comments]

What are some groups where their members have a totally unexpected age order? For example, Rei being half a year older than Wonyoung is crazy. And also that Yujin is only half a year older than Rei also doesn't feel real. submitted by /u/SpecSlayerSC [link] [comments]

[I know Katseye isn’t kpop but they’re kpop adjacent and the main Katseye sub didn’t approve my post] I want to preface this by saying I’m not a stan of Katseye yet, but I finally watched pop star academy a few months ago and I tend to see them very often on my fyp. And what’s been showing up more recently is people harping on Daniela from trying to downplay her talents to making fun of her looks/facials. This was barely something I would’ve seen a few months ago. If you go on a lot of Dani-specific posts on here or other platforms, I’ve noticed a trend of people talking about anything else BUT Dani. Or trying to downplay the post. I know how kpop and kpop adjacent fandoms work and this would never fly with anyone else, and if it did happen then fans would rightfully call out this behavior. I don’t know if it’s intertwined with a racial aspect, from some eyekons saying they didn’t want a “white girl” (Emily) to be in the group, to being dogged by people calling out Dani for being white, to some eyekons in turn not wanting to be seen defending a “white girl” but it’s so strange. I’ve noticed this weird animosity towards her started AFTER a few posts calling Dani white went viral. And honestly after she herself shot up in popularity. All of sudden people are hyper focusing on her facials when just a month or 2 ago everyone was ravingggg over how she executed Gnarly. Now all of sudden people are mad she’s in the in the center when she and Manon have majority of the time been joint center/faces from debut (I searched it up!!!). Now apparently she barely has stage presence (but Gnarly their breakout single gained a ton of traction because of her overall execution and her fancams? 😭), she’s a terrible singer, she’s not good looking, she lacks versatility (super untrue but let online evaluators tell it lol) — all according to the tens of Katseye ranking videos on TikTok And the most disheartening part is, I see so many other so-called “EYEKONS” in these comment sections equally bashing Dani or getting /mad/ at others for trying to change peoples’ perspectives. As someone who knew Dani, her family before Katseye even began and is engaged in Latin American politics; Dani is just as mixed as Manon and Megan 😭 when yall call her just white you are erasing her indigenous ancestry specifically from her mothers side (her dad has a little 🤏🏾 too). The same way it would be maddening to call Megan or Manon just white. People’s understanding of race outside of America—even in America—is so limited. The masses are just realizing Latino/Hispanic isn’t a race but also still thinks that the only 3 racial classifications in LatAm are white, indigenous and black lol. Even in America there are more racial classifications and even some that recognize mixed people like the rest of the world, but is for some reason ignored. She looks white passing to some but to me and many others she looks obviously Mestiza because… well hello she is Mestiza. And for those who are unaware, Mestiza is a term that classifies a certain mixed racial group in Latin America that descends from both Indigenous (South) American and Spanish/Spaniard roots. Yall love to say race is based on how you navigate the world or how you are perceived (wrong) when it comes to labeling mixed girls as just their non-white half, but yall completely disregarded how Dani said in P.A. how she felt like she didn’t fit in with the other (white) girls, as do most POC, and straightened and dyed her hair blonde to try and assimilate. Why is her experience constantly invalidated or less defended by eyekons? As a fully black girl, growing up I’ve never seen Dani as just white and most of her family doesn’t even identify as white 😭😭😭 Just my little 2 cents, this is both a question and place for discussion. Please let’s be respectful to one another prayer🙏🏾 submitted by /u/niaaaaaintheflesh [link] [comments]
In honor of P1Harmony hitting the Billboard 200 Top 10, I just wanted to give a shoutout to the non-Big 4 groups who’ve made it this far. From what I read, only Ateez, P1Harmony, and Monsta X have reached the Top 10 without being from a Big 4 company. The rest of the chart is mostly Big 4 groups or ones that had some big company connection. I’m a MOA too, so this isn’t hate at all, I know how much Big 4 trainees go through. But seeing smaller company groups make it on their own just hits different. It’s so hard to break into the western market without that kind of backing. As a P1ece, I’m honestly so proud. They’ve worked so hard and kept improving every comeback. Same with Ateez, they built such a huge fanbase from nothing. I remember piwon starting with 2k sales while their direct competitor enhypen (which I really adore) with 100k+ sales was so sad lol now they making their path up there 🥲 (Tho not having company fandom can make sustaining these numbers hard in future but let's see where fnc take them with promos) It just makes me really happy seeing groups from smaller companies get the recognition they deserve! submitted by /u/Over_Length_440 [link] [comments]
