I can't name more than a couple of examples of her being a leader, doesn't help that Kim Lip and Yves were much more proactive than her at leading the group and she's been in hiatus for much of Loona's active period. Even Heejin took the lead sometimes when introducing themselves. Hell even Hyunjin led loossemble better than Haseul led loona. submitted by /u/penguinknight420 [link] [comments]
(first post kind of nervous 😥) i stubbed across this video of seventeen vernon back in the green room pre debut days and the video was him being affectionate with trainee samuel. and the comments were talking abt how vernon ain’t the same anymore like “ Vernon’s personality did a complete 180” “i miss the old him” like he was probably 15-16 in the video. I don’t understand why fans act like people personality cant change over the years especially when they are teens like at 15. you 100% aren’t going to be the exact same when u are in your mid 20’s. The same thing is happening with Ni-ki with Enhypen like he was 14 when he debut he’s 19 now he of course he going “change” like that’s normal. I see all the “he nonchalant” jokes and its not even that funny cause it’s lowkey just overplayed. But yes I do believe them and other idols being in the spotlight at a young age does take a toll on them but i just hate the term “i miss the old them”. I just want to see other people opinions or thoughts on this. submitted by /u/Gloomy_Koala2641 [link] [comments]

I’m curious about how it became so popular and why Koreans have this soft heart when they hear this song played? Like what’s the lore? Or the song equivalent in the U.S.? submitted by /u/felt_nothing [link] [comments]
Trot Audition 'Mistrot 4' Starts Recruiting Applicants.. Broadcast announcement in the second half of the year Mistrot 4 The survival show is open to women of all ages who love trot. The application period ends August 15. With all the girl group disbandments over the past year, I'm wondering if some idols will enter the competition. Off the top of my head I know that BESTie Hyeyeon and UHSN Maria both performed well in MISS TROT 2, and that MY TEENAGE GIRL participant Oh Yoojin did well in MISS TROT 3. submitted by /u/Potential-Mine2069 [link] [comments]

Hello everyone! I hope this post fits the sub. I went to Wonho’s solo concert in Brazil this week and I was really surprised when Wonho didn’t sing a single song. I'm not a k-pop fan or Wonho fan, so I did some research to see if this is common in K-pop. I get that sometimes idols are dancing, but he didn’t sing even during the slower songs, which is strange because he used to be known for singing a lot in Monsta X? Also, with the fan interactions he just followed the script, just got through the motions as quickly as possible. Even though he dances well, my overall my experience with his show was a bit negative. Has anyone here been to one of his solo shows and can confirm if that’s just how they are? Or is it something he only did in Latin America? I saw some videos from Chile and in all of them it was pretty obvious that he wasn’t singing either. submitted by /u/CyborgForklift [link] [comments]

For a group that debut just a year ago, they're doing quite well with over 24M monthly listeners on Spotify. They have solid collabs/brand endorsements (Coach, Fendi, Urban Outfitters, Glossier, Pandora, LUSH, Monster High, Jessica Alba in 'Gabriela'), they're making good sales from their album & lightstick, their tour tickets are sold out and they've broken into Billboard Hot 100. At the moment, they're very popular on social media and among Kpop fans, just not fully mainstream. In your opinion, what should HxG do to make the girls' successes more mainstream? I think it's going to be a combination of good marketing (which they already have) + having vocally powerful songs. Dance and performance are important, but good songs have been key to make girl groups commercially successful. The girls are super talented, but their vocals are so underutilized. We all know Lara and Sophia are good singers while the other 4 can hold on their own. I'm sure with some SM-style vocal training, all 6 are going to be solid vocalists. HYBE has the money to invest into their vocal training. For me personally, I'd love to hear Katseye produce R&B songs like Little Mix's 'Sweet Melody', 'Love' & 'Happiness' to be in their next EP/album - vocally powerful songs that you'll enjoy when played on the radio. What do you guys think? submitted by /u/kirireiner [link] [comments]

this week i was super lucky to be able to attend Doyoung's DOORS tour. i would say i'm a pretty midcore czennie with a focus on 127 and dream, so i definitely wasn't a stranger to doyoung and the other nct idols. but i walked out of this concert feeling like ive been absolutely sleeping on doyoung as a solo idol, performer, and singer. his vocals completely blew me out of the water. im not a singer by any means but he sounded so rounded, supported, and stable in every song, even in songs with high notes i could only reach by screaming. it somehow sounded even better than the studio versions - seeing the raw emotion in his face and voice added so much to the performance. he had a nice mix of upbeat happy music (like dallas love field, lost in california), as well as more sentimental sections (luminous, still), where the production took a back seat and it was just Doyoung sitting on a chair in the spotlight singing his heart out to us. his vocals were amazing, but his fan service was on a whole other level. i walked out of that theatre thinking "damn, that really is a senior idol". from the start he was so good at hyping up the crowd, yelling "singapore, are you having fun?" or "singapore! lets go!" (i mean which kpop fan wouldn't want their idol to yell out their country's name). his personality and experience really shone during his ments. a more junior idol might have stumbled when it comes to solo hosting, but not Doyoung. he kept joking with the crowd, and even teasing the interpreter, making her compliment herself. he even decided to sing his surprise song twice for us, while teasing us to choose the best version to upload online. im not sure i would count this as fanservice but i could feel his love for his czennies radiating off the entire production. he told us that he loved hearing us sing so he asked his production team to add lyrics on the screens behind him. these were in hangul, but i realised that his team had also added romanised lyrics on the screens on the sides of the stage - this was such a sweet and touching gesture to make us feel included. he was so touched by the banner project as well (he also played with the banner in a very... doyoung way...) its kind of an open secret that he would be enlisting soon and that this is probably one of his last few promo activities. and this tour is such a perfect bookmark for his 2 year hiatus. he was having fun, we were having fun, and god damn he is so good at this. what a perfect "see you later" for us and for him. submitted by /u/reallyn0tme [link] [comments]
