14.815. A quick note about the generalization rule

  • 2 years ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

The subreddit is mostly uncensored as long as people follow the rules. Generalizing statement about Korea, Korean society, etc or most other countries are not acceptable except under the following standards: The only claims that are acceptable when generalizing Korean society in this sub are those that bring up generalizable stastical claims by the standards of the international statistics institute. Not only do the vast majority of stastistics you can find on the internet about Korea not up to this minimum, basic standard but this requirement includes having ample sample size, blocking by relevant demographics and sometimes even double blind tests. So if you make a generalizing claim, your wording must be properly formatted and links to the relevant studies provided. In other words, the standard for making a generalization is very high in this sub. Not to mention the wording for your claim has to be properly made. Anyone who has taken a college level statistics class will know what I am talking about and we may even require you to provide the confidence level interval if it's relevant for your study. If you cannot meet these standards, I would just avoid doing it in general. submitted by /u/Kpop_Love_Forever [link] [comments]

1. Would you like to join a K-pop related WhatsApp group?

First, I read the rules and it didn't say anything about promoting whatsapp groups (?), so I hope this is fine. ૮ ․ ․ ྀིა I haven't created the group yet, but if you all seem interested, I will create it and edit the link here. It's just with the purpose of talking and make close friends from all across the world. Sorry if my grammar is off, English is not my first language. 2. Do you think Jungkook is boring as a solo artist?

  • reddit.com language

In my last post I asked people to drop their unpopular kpop opinions and someone wrote Jungkook is boring as a solo artist. While I completely disagree with the opinion but it had crazy amount of upvotes. So, what are your thoughts. While I feel his album Golden was quite generic and nothing ground breaking and it failed to showcase his artistry ..but can we collectively agree he is a great performer, not everyone can pull off songs like snty on stage.Tbh I did not like Snty on my first listen, but it grew on my after the live performances, the way he pulled of every stages he performed is actually impressive. He has good vocals, he is good in dancing but most importantly he has an insane stage presence. They energy he brings to the stage is actually commendable. I believe, what he needs to do is sit with his team and discuss properly about the artistic direction he wants to follow and involve more in the creative process of his solo work to give more flavour to it. Involving in the creative process not necessarily means writing all his songs...but he can give more inputs in the production process or give visual direction in the MVs (since he mentioned earlier he has a knack for videography) rather than just simply doing what's being told to do. Because, I think he has a great creative range and an artistic mind. He is also an amazing song writer. We have seen some glimpse of his creativity in songs like Euphoria or Still with you, Begin,My Time, Magic shop.I think he simply needs proper guidance to polish that. But, he is far from boring. submitted by /u/Due_Collection_3363 [link] [comments]

6. Are there any songs from your ult that blew your mind on first listen?

  • 2 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

For me I think it's those 3 txt songs. Eternally: I remember very well the first time I listened to it, I was laying in my bed. The first part of the song sounded like a lullaby so I was getting sleepy, but then the second distorted part came in and it literally jumpscared me 😅. It was so unexpected. But honestly, out of all the songs that have this change up in it, it's one of the best executed. It feels like a dream and a nightmare at the same time, truly a masterpiece. Frost: For this one, I didn’t expect to like it at all. Freeze was my very first comeback as a MOA so my expectations were very high. When I listened to the preview, I didn’t like the sound of it at first, so I was skeptical and a little worried. But I ended up loving the song, and even more after the performance video. It became one of my favorites from TXT. 0×1=LOVESONG: As I said, my expectations for this comeback were huge and they did not disappoint!!! It's still my favorite TXT song, and from K-pop as a whole. If only I could listen to it for the first time again… The song is truly mind-blowing, I can’t even describe it. Everything is just so perfect: the vocals, the instrumental, the emotions, the lyrics. It even dethroned Run Away as my favorite TXT song and I was completely obsessed with it when I was a new fan. I don't stan enhypen and Ateez (I'm more of a casual listener) but I also want to add Drunk-Dazed and Answer. They left me speechless, they are some of my favorite kpop songs. I really recommend people who have never heard of these songs to listen to them, truly one of a kind experience (at least for me)! I am also curious about yours and to make it more interessing It would be great if you explain why! submitted by /u/Technical_Walrus9158 [link] [comments]

I just watched some of the clips and here are my dream picks if there would be a next season: disclaimer: (most of these are wishful thinking lmao might be really impossible to have) Mamamoo x Destiny’s Child (their voices and i’d like to see hwasa and beyonce slay the stage together) Ailee x Jessie J (dudeee have ya’ll seen that bang bang cover??? i think they would compliment each other’s singing) Jamie x Ariana Grande (bc why not???) Katseye x Megan Thee Stallion (now ik she had her time with Billie alr but after that gap jeans ad… this combo will be HOT) Red Velvet x Kehlani (now idk why but i just feel like i’m cooking with this one…. u can judge me tho) Seventeen (esp them vocal line) x Charlie Puth (charlie is a genius, he would make any collab work like magic) ya’ll can judge me w/ my choices tho but what do ya’ll think? and if there’s anything u can change with this list, tell me! submitted by /u/gayahhbeach [link] [comments]

14. Twice has officially outlived the 4th gen girl groups

  • 2 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

One of the most popular jabs against Twice for at least the last 4 years is how they can't even compete with 4th gen girl groups, even if it was just natural for new and trendy groups with fresher concepts and music and way more promotions to do that. But I think it's pretty safe to say right now that Twice has outlived all 4th gen girl groups, who are now going through the same thing Twice had to when they were 4-5 years old in the industry. So let's see the numbers in Spotify to compare and understand it: Twice, This is For | Total: 78m - Daily: 463k Lesserafim, Hot | Total: 117m - Daily: 277k Ive, Rebel Heart | Total: 67m - Daily: 119k Illit, Do the Dance | Total: 62m - Daily: 406k Aespa, Dirty Work | Total: 59m - Daily: 302k Babymonster, Hot Sauce | Total: 34m - Daily: 207k Nmixx, Know About Me | Total: 28m - Daily: 54k I-dle, Good Thing | Total: 24m - Daily: 61k Kiss of Life, Lips Hips Kiss | Total: 18m - Daily: 80k Itzy, Girls Will Be Girls | Total: 18m - Daily: 72k Stayc, Bebe | Total: 12m - Daily: 15k So in less than 90 days, Twice was able to outstream almost every 4th and 5th gen comeback, even if it was released months before them. And the terrible thing is the current daily streams, they are getting not only outstreamed by several tracks in each of those artists discographies, but also by Twice's 10 years old debut Like Ooh-Ahh and the lowest point in Twice's career One Spark. I can't even put into words just how bad it is for a freshly released song to be outstreamed by One Spark. Some of those daily streams are catastrophic, not only telling us how most of them failed to capture the public attention this year, but also how minuscule their fandoms are and how bad the future is looking for them. In the end, Twice and Onces had the last laugh. submitted by /u/randkpopstan [link] [comments]

Had this thought while listening to Billyeoon Goyangi. There's a part where it sounds like Minju is saying "Now I am gay~" Another one I have is from Agassy where Soojin sings "Your mom so gaEEEh~" Also in Loona's PTT "You're too gay" Anyways, comment what misheard lyrics you've noticed in kpop songs regarding being gay :) submitted by /u/EnniPumpkin [link] [comments]
