I'm not really a Kpop fan, but one of my friends is and she showed me this group. It sounds absolutely amazing and from what I heard musically its catchy and the lyrics are actually coherent and not cringey. The video also is far different from any of the kpop she showed me in the case that its goofy and not trying to show off any of the visuals of the members. So why is their a kpop hate for their music? I get people hate the auto tune, but everybody uses auto tune and here at least its a stylistic choice. submitted by /u/CitronEmpty327 [link] [comments]
okay so for context i am mainly a girl group stan! i like some boy group songs and only really bias txt then all my girl groups. but i ended up getting into enhypen as my next boy group! about 2? years ago i added them to my stan list and my close friend helped me learn about them since she knew them since iland. cut to now we went to our first concert together for them! we got vip 1 and also had a little trip planned. i was really excited and everything was going great! the show was amazing donât get me wrong like i will forever remember that night but basically my friend was making me feel weird the whole night. basically the whole sound check and show all she could do is be like âomg look he smiled at me! winked! air kiss!â and i didnât get any and i didnât mind i love live music but when i told her i didnât get any she was like âthat must suck and you must feel awfulâ and im like should i? then at send off basically a similar thing happened we go in together she found a corner and i got pushed around luckily i got 2 pcs signed because the person in front of me asked if i had any. i didnât get photos or interactions but it was fun! but as we left she kept going on about her getting all the photos and signatures, which i did wanna hear about! but then when she asked me and i told her she was like âoh no you must be heartbroken maybe next time :(â basically i didnât feel bad about any of these things i am a lesbian so me and boy groups have a different kind of interest. but she even after it keeps saying how i missed out and thatâs making me feel bad. especially since she loves to compare what she got to the little i got. how do i tell her i donât wanna hear about it if sheâs just gonna make me feel bad but also i donât wanna be mean or come off as jealous i just wish she would stop making me feel bad separating. submitted by /u/strawbvryswitchblade [link] [comments]
Iâve been following K-pop since a long time and every time I look at JYPEâs marketing, I just get frustrated. It feels like theyâve had a decade to figure this out but somehow the same problems keep happening over and over. Hereâs what I mean: 2nd Gen Era (2010â2014) Wonder Girls â After their US debut attempt flopped, their Korean promotions slowed down and they lost momentum. They had so much potential but it felt like JYPE just⊠gave up instead of rebuilding hype. Miss A â âBad Girl Good Girlâ blew up, but after that, inconsistent comebacks, long gaps, and minimal promotion basically killed the buzz. They shouldâve been a top girl group for years, but nope. 2PM & 2AM â 2PM had a loyal fandom but were sidelined when the company focused on newer projects. 2AM barely got any promotion compared to ballad groups from other companies. 3rd Gen Era (2015â2019) Twice â Donât get me wrong, Twiceâs rise was huge, but even during their peak JYPE relied way too heavily on the âcute conceptâ image. The pivot to mature concepts (âFancy,â âFeel Specialâ) was almost too late, and their international marketing lagged behind competitors. Day6 â One of the most talented bands in K-pop, yet almost no variety show appearances, poor MV promotions, and zero push to get them known outside their niche fanbase. GOT7 â This one still hurts. Amazing global fanbase, but JYPE gave them the bare minimum in Korean promotions, and international schedules were often a mess. Their comeback teasers were random, and merch quality was questionable. They basically promoted themselves. 4th Gen Era (2020â2025) ITZY â Debuted with a bang (âDalla Dallaâ was everywhere), but JYPEâs overuse of the âgirl crushâ concept without evolving it led to fatigue. International promotion feels awkward â either too slow or suddenly rushed. NMIXX â Their debut was all over the place. The song (âO.Oâ) had potential but the mix of genres wasnât explained well, and they didnât market the groupâs concept clearly. Also, the teasers felt disconnected from the actual MV. Theyâre super talented, but the rollout didnât help them. Xdinary Heroes â Barely any promo compared to other JYPE groups, and when they do have content, itâs not pushed enough for casual listeners to find them. The Pattern Itâs not like JYPE canât produce good music or talented idols â they clearly can. The problem is: Long gaps between comebacks for some groups, while others get oversaturated. Confusing or outdated concept marketing. Lack of international strategy until itâs too late. Weak follow-up after a big hit â they ride the wave, then disappear. Itâs been 15 years and the same issues keep repeating. Youâd think theyâd have studied what worked and what didnât by now, but nope. submitted by /u/Critical_Year_4762 [link] [comments]
sometimes i like to just sit down and make my own interpretation of kpop songs-- based on the already available english translations (mainly from official vids, color coded lyrics, and genius) mixed with my own lines based on what the song is about and the flow. i have a few i've already written but i have no where to post them and i wanna get others opinions on them. submitted by /u/musical_fanatic [link] [comments]

So I heard youtube is going to be using AI to verify its users age and identity to "make it a safer safe." I watch tons of k-pop videos (music videos, k-commentary, etc) on there and I am not fully sure how to feel about this. I personally don't trust AI and I don't think this is going to be making youtube any better than it already is. I think my youtube addiction will finally come to an end when this comes to effect. Will you guys still continue to use youtube after this? I might be a little overreacting to this but I sooo don't trust Ai with anything. What do you guys think? submitted by /u/Yveslovescats [link] [comments]
Hey everyone! I'm actually going to be in LA this week at the same time as BND because i'm going to the enhypen concert. I entered to win the fan sign, (I didn't win), and applied to work at it as well (I didn't hear back). I saw they are performing at the Grammy Museum but found out too late and I'm on the waiting list. I did see there is a fan cafe on the 14th. I was wondering if any of you knew of any other BND events or things happening this week in CA? I would LOVE to see them somehow!! thanks :) submitted by /u/BerryStyles9 [link] [comments]

Because to me it seems very obvious, that they are not. There are real singers who act as their voice actors for the songs, but Huntrix is not an actual group - they simply exist in this one singular movie. This is not the first animated movie to be based on music nor have a band in it, but this is the first time I'm seeing so much confusion around it. Like I've genuinely never seen people refer to, for example, alvin and the chipmunks as an actual boy band and never seen them been mentioned among the likes of BTS, one direction, etc despite also having real voice singers and being immensely successful. People making comparions to hatsune miku, plave, gorillaz, etc don't make sense at all, since Huntrix is not a vocaloid project or a virtual artist. Much love to all the amazing singers, but it genuinely confuses me how people think Huntrix is an actual kpop group. Perhaps seeing the popularity of the movie, they might make end up making it a virtual project? Similar to how big time rush decided to be a real boy band after the success of their series. submitted by /u/peach_tweech [link] [comments]
Lately, i have been OBSESSED with ghost girl by Yeonjun. I don't usually listen to that type of songs but it's just so UGHHH!! It gives me late-night-car-rides-in-NYC and it's soooo addicting!! His voice is soo pretty there in a unique way, and the instrumentals are just WOW! Can you please give me song recommendations with the same vibe?? submitted by /u/Zealousideal_Ear1146 [link] [comments]

If you'll claim all in sm was him. then all the bad is his fault too. He did horrible shi to his idols. Used a private funeral for his self-glorifying documentary. He's obsessed with AI and has AI voice banks of the A20 members. He used the song of an old group ( tvxq he had them black listed over worked and treated like slaves) he caused suffering for a new group, and acts like it's some legacy to be proud of. If I see anyone call hybe and Bangshiyuk the worst, then glaze sm and lee sooman as "og kpop" and the "best time for idols" I'm looking at you nasty. And on a second note end the 1st/ 2nd gen glaze. "I miss when idols interacted without hate." I also miss when BoA had a hate cafe pre-debut. "I miss when adults debuted." shaddup."Sexy concepts-" Majority of our sexy warriors were forced to do these concepts and/or were freshly 18. In conclusion SM now and before is BUNS. And old kpop was violent and much more toxic! Atleast K-companies remember the police is on their side. Idols were genuinely getting kidnapped submitted by /u/Medical_Let7132 [link] [comments]

I don't know if anyone else may agree with this, but I've speculated for a while, and I feel like a lot of the company's and labels that kpop groups are under cater more to delusional fans over the sane ones. Explanation: I know it may be a bit hard to differentiate between the lowkey creepy and disrespectful fans over the normal ones, but delusional and obsessive fans definitely bring in more money to these company's. They're willing to buy every album/merch product and go to every concert, event, and fan meet they can find. The whole kpop industry is practically built off of the oversexualization and infantilization of grown idols. That's why teenage fans will call a man in his 20s their "baby" and get ridiculously mad when an idol is merely near a person of the opposite gender. Companys will contantly post these roleplay videos of idols pretending to be your boyfriend or doing aegyo, and they don't even let idols date publicly, and even kick them out of their groups when they get into relationships. Anything to keep people in the fandom. They may claim they're protecting them, but if thats the case then why have so many idols had literal stalker fans in their hotel rooms with them or in their houses? Why are groups getting mobbed horribly in airports every week? Point being, it would be cool if the kpop fandom could take a stand and get rid of the fans that ruin it for everyone, but sadly that will probably never be done. The delusion causes harm not only to the idols, but to fans as well. I dont think its healthy to believe that a famous person loves you. We're almost in 2026 though, so somethings gotta give đ I wanna know what other people think đ€·đŸââïž submitted by /u/girlwith_wheels [link] [comments]
