Articles / Timeline 250422 This day marks one year since HYBE launched their audit of Min Hee Jin and ADOR's management. Happy(?) 1st anniversary of the Megathreads! 250502 The 3rd hearing for Min Hee Jin vs. Belift Lab was set to take place but postponed to July 18th at Belift Lab's request. Each side is due to present their arguments/documents regarding plagiarism issues at the next meeting. (Source: Maeil Kyungjae) 250530 We learned that ADOR had filed for 'indirect enforcement' after their injunction was granted and NewJeans performed at ComplexCon back in March (Filed on April 4th according to the statement from NewJeans' representatives linked below). On the 30th, the 52nd Division of the Seoul Central District court further granted this request. The 'indirect enforcement' ruling means that each individual member of NewJeans will be fined 1 billion won (approx. $725,000) if they continue with entertainment activities independent of ADOR, which would be in violation of the injunction. This enforcement with potential fines does NOT apply to any of NewJeans' independent activities between the granting of the injunction and the granting of this 'indirect enforcement'. These fines will only apply to future activities going forward, or at least until rulings with NewJeans' appeal or the main contract validity case changes anything (next hearing on June 5th). (Source: Chosun Biz, MK Sports) The Korea Herald: Court orders NewJeans to pay Ador 1 billion won for each unauthorized activity Discussion Post Korea JoongAng Daily: Court orders NewJeans members to pay ADOR $725,600 for every independent entertainment activity A statement by NewJeans' representatives was made later in the day primarily acknowledging the indirect enforcement ruling, but reiterating that it is temporary and will no longer have an effect if NewJeans win their appeal of the injunction. (Source: Ilgan Sports) The 2nd hearing for Source Music's damages lawsuit against Min Hee Jin took place at the 12th Civil Affairs Division of the Seoul Western District Court. (Quick recap: 1st was January 10th, 2nd was previously scheduled for March 14th, postponed per Source Music's request). Legal representatives were present. Source Music had a 20-minute presentation prepared, but Min Hee Jin's representatives objected to the inclusion of KakaoTalk messages in the presentation. They claimed the messages were illegally obtained and requested the hearing to be closed/private. Source Music denied the messages were obtained illegally, claiming they were gained from company devices with consent. The court went with a temporary compromise to keep the hearing public, but not allow discussion/display of the messages until they were reviewed again. A special hearing to review the messages will take place June 27th. (Source: Sports Today) 250605 The Seoul Central District Court Division 41 held the second hearing for ADOR seeking confirmation of validity for their exclusive contract with NewJeans. Only legal representatives were in attendance. NewJeans' side primarily argued that ADOR had not met their obligations and that their evidence they were preparing to support NewJeans' activities, like finding a new producer, was inadequate. ADOR's side argued that NewJeans' reasons for allegedly terminating their contract continually changed, indicating they are arbitrary and being made up with retroactive hindsight. The issue of some evidence being collected illegally also came up again from NewJeans' side. Judge Jung Hoe-Il specifically inquired if both/either sides were willing to come to an agreement, encouraging them to do so. NewJeans' representatives strongly indicated this was unlikely as the trust in ADOR had completely collapsed. ADOR's representatives indicated they could see negotiating an agreement once the court comes to a final decision. The 3rd hearing was set for July 24th. (Sources: X Sport News, Maeil Kyungjae) 250612 The next hearing regarding the Shareholder Agreement termination and exercising put/call options lawsuits between HYBE and Min Hee Jin was held at the Seoul Central District Court's 31st Division. Arguments from each side mostly re-tread what we've already covered. HYBE's side argued they were justified in ending the shareholder agreement due to the threat Min Hee Jin posed to the company. Min Hee Hin's side argued the timing of the audit/termination did not align purely with that concern and that some KakaoTalk messages and emails were obtained illegally and not admissable as evidence. HYBE also indicated they had a witness to give testimony at the next meeting, which the court accepted. The next hearing with closing arguments, was set for September 11th for both lawsuits. (Sources: Maeil Kyungjae, TV Daily, Sports Today) 250617 Following up from April 16th when NewJeans appealed the court's decision to uphold the injunction and halt on their independent activities, the Seoul High Court reaffirmed the earlier decision. The court rejected NewJeans' appeal. They determined there was no significant change in the material/arguments presented for the appeal and the original decision to grant ADOR's injunction was justified. There was further clarification that the management conflict between HYBE and Min Hee Jin, and her no longer being NewJeans' producer, did not constitute a valid argument for the alleged collapse of trust between ADOR and NewJeans. The group's withdrawal from ADOR is considered arbitrary, that their artistic freedom or activity is not impeded since they are able to do so within their exclusive contract, and that any damages resulting from attempting independent activities are self-inflicted. do you ever hear a song by a GG and think "this BG would eat this song up" or vice versa? I don't think this THAT often especially bc BG tend to make GG covers more masculine but sometimes it happens submitted by /u/Weary_Occasion1287 [link] [comments]
So recently, Iâve been getting videos in my algorithm showcasing fan to idol interactions in my feed with CORTIS at a sign event. What really concerns me is the fansâ ignorance to their boundaries as fans. Like, theyâre overstepping the boundary, and Iâve particularly seen Seonghyeon and Keonho implicitly uncomfortable. (e.g. seonghyeon: https://youtu.be/N1oXO9zB3N0?si=Q030vxSW2UbF_3Kl, keonho: https://youtube.com/shorts/6e01zoCAcIc?si=05UWYbZCZmbYIzBc) Maybe itâs just me, but I feel extremely uncomfortable for them and it seems to me they feel that way too đđ They typically ask questions regarding their preferences in girls, or request actions that would make the fan, typically a girl, feel like theyâre y/n and that theyâre the male lead courting her or some shi and making her flustered. Whatâs so funny about this is that itâs a one-sided interaction on the fanâs part because you can see how desperate they are to get an exclusive interaction from a good-looking guy that would otherwise not happen irl đ So essentially, they kind of view CORTIS mainly as a subject of their delusions in a way, and theyâre seizing the opportunity of meeting them at a fan sign to practicing their delusions. You can have your fantasy and delusions of having a y/n moment with them, but at the end of the day, youâre a fan, and theyâre an idol. Thereâs a limit to what you can express in person and vice versa. Unless it is reciprocal and mutually consented and well within the boundary of a fan to idol relationship, I donât see a problem. Also they are minors, so shouldnât it be common sense that there is a tighter boundary? I can see that theyâre taking advantage of the fact that theyâre inexperienced rookie minors just starting out in the entertainment industry of kpop. The purpose of fansigns is to deepen the relationship between the fans and idols to develop a loyal fanbase, but theyâre putting them in a tight spot where theyâre obliged to fulfil requests and questions regardless of their consent. The fans donât even ask if itâs appropriate of them to ask or request certain things. Talk about baseless entitlement. I know there are expectations for idols to speak and act according to the fans wishes because a fan to idol relationship is reciprocal, but itâs gone to a point where their wishes are out of bounds and the idol themselves feel violated, and forced to limit their say in the interactions because of expectations from people who pay their rent that are warranted, but are afraid to challenge unwarranted wishes due to this. Nonetheless, they are not obliged to fulfil whatever role they play in your dreamland irl, nor are you entitled to them. Just treat them as you would any other individual normally because they are. I know theyâre good looking individuals and that they are rare to see, but to blatantly dismiss their normality is alienating, and itâs just very unattractive to treat them that way. Itâs like you have no respect for them as individuals because you view them as objects to practice your delusions about love. Itâs okay to admire their facial aesthetics, the problem is objectifying them because of it; whether implicit or explicit. submitted by /u/meowtchatea [link] [comments]

As some of you may know, YT Music is now by far the most widely used streaming platform in Korea, taking up nearly two-thirds of the market share (Melon sits at around 30% these days). The GP largely relies on YT Music as their primary source for listening while Melon has become more of a stronghold for dedicated idol fandoms. So with that in mind, here's a look at the top 10 most listened idols on YT Music to see who both fans and the GP have been streaming the most over the past year. *This ranking is limited to idols (not all artists) *The data was gathered over the span of ~52 weeks (1 year frame) from top weekly songs and the total sum determined the ranking. *(M = million) BG & Soloists (Top 10) 10. Saja Boys (120M) â Hard to believe theyâve cracked the top 10 after just three months of debut. 9. Stray Kids (134M) â Fascinating to see the contrast between their massive international standing and more modest domestic numbers. 8. N.Flying (140M) â While not huge overseas, their recognition in Korea has steadily grown. 7. BOYNEXTDOOR (154M) â The only 5th-gen boy group on the list, a strong showing for rookies. 6. WOODZ (182M) â Incredible that heâs this high essentially off the back of Drowning. A true mega hit. 5. BTS (197M) â The boys remain a global powerhouse, and still secure 5th place domestically. 4. SEVENTEEN (260M) â Their music resonates even more with the Korean GP than it does internationally. 3. G-Dragon (431M) â His first comeback since 2017, and the numbers are absolutely bonkers for a soloist. 2. BIGBANG (439M) â Nearly a decade without full group activity, yet they soar to 2nd. Just mind-blowing longevity. Korea's most beloved BG indeed. 1. Day6 (617M) â Crazy numbers. This band has an undeniable grip on the GP. At this point, people will stream anything Day6 puts out. Major props. GG & Soloists (Top 10) 10. LE SSERAFIM (188M) â 4th gen GG with multiple hits secure their spot at #10. 9. Jennie (209M) â Like Jennie was a smash, and her album has been embraced by both fans and GP. 8. Taeyeon (210M) â SNSDâs powerhouse vocalist continues to prove why sheâs one of K-popâs most successful soloists. Longevity at its finest. 7. BLACKPINK (240M) â Their long awaited group comeback and tour solidify their place here. Not surprising for one of K-popâs biggest names. 6. QWER (290M) â Their anime-coded, nostalgia tinged sound has clearly struck a chord on GP. Surpassing some of the names below them is quite a big surprise. 5. RosĂ© (321M) â Apateu, Apateu. Enough said. 4. IVE (344M) â A string of 2025 releases in Attitude, Rebel Heart, and XOXZ keeps their momentum strong and lands them at #4. 3. NJ (361M) â Not too shabby for a group thatâs been inactive. 2. IU (430M) â Sheâs been putting up numbers like this since 2010. Her career is untouchable at this point. 1. aespa (549M) â The undisputed winners of 2024. Supernova and Whiplash continue to dominate replayability. Whiplash is still putting up better numbers than Dirty Work despite it being a nearly one year old song. They would have to release a huge hit to maintain the top spot in this ranking next year. Nonetheless, the number 1 spot is very well deserved. submitted by /u/Organic-Cranberry955 [link] [comments]

This is apparently the third time she's mentioned something like this to the OP (in front of staff too lmao). I don't get why they'd do something like that when it gives nobody any benefit. I know this title and my post might come across as a drag, but I want to say this because itâs one of the most frequent comments I see under any Cortis video. I love the vibe they give off too, but their entire concept is hyperfocused on creating a carefree, teenage-like, authentic atmosphere. These boys arenât editing the videos. The lowercase and simple titles, the chill music, the filming with cameras⊠all of that is still done and thought of by company employees (unless theyâve explicitly said otherwise, which I doubt). Itâs not that serious, I know. But at the end of the day, the company is marketing them this way for a reason: fans love how âauthenticâ it feels, while in reality itâs anything but, since the company is behind all of it. They know that making a band feel authentic makes fans feel closer, like they know the âreal themâ better. And the stronger that parasocial relationship becomes, the more likely fans are to invest time and money. More streams and money = more profit for the company. I love Cortis, and I really do love their concept. But thatâs what it is: a concept. Iâm not saying the boys are putting on a full act â obviously parts of their personalities come through. But just because the videos seem like natural moments filmed between them doesnât mean they havenât gone through multiple editors, removing anything that doesnât fit how the company wants them to come across. submitted by /u/Due_Improvement_5699 [link] [comments]

When will people realize that Bangchan doesnât play about stray kids. Heâs already gone off in a live last month about respect, so I donât understand why people still choose to try him. Man when I tell you I like this man more and more each day. Today around midnight pst, Chan posted on bubble saying: âstay_central get your facts straight. Donât spread misinformation thanks đâ âEh Iâm not mad lolâ âJust tryna fix thingsâ âAnyways it was Hans birthday and itâs Felixâs nowâ âGo give em lots of love!â âHuh?â âYouâre not going to because youâre my solo StanâŠ?â âThen donât bother stanning me lolâ âDiabolical lolâ âOh now Iâm getting kinda madâ I love this!! There has never been a place for akgaes in the kpop community and itâs amazing to have an idol actually put them on blast. I donât know if someone actually sent him a reply saying that or if he had seen what was going on on Twitter and set up a way to bring up, but either way Iâm glad he said something about it. And stay_central was found to be a YouTube account that posts live translations and reels about stray kids. Typical brainrot âinfoâ vids you see when scrolling. Iâm not sure which soecific video Chan was calling out, but I assume itâs the one that talks about hyunjin almost joining a cult. The craziest part is that the channel was liking comment a talking tish about Chan. Chan came back around 6 hours later and said this: âIâm really grateful that some people shower me with lots of loveâŠâ âBut letâs not hate on the other membersâŠâ âThatâs all I ask forâŠâ âThey saved me and Iâm blessed to have them after all⊠ă â âEy and donât go hating on the YouTube channel I mentioned earlier eitherâ âIn the end we all lack something and weâre all learning no? INCLUDING MEâ âTbh Iâm the one that makes the most mistakes no? Hahahahaâ âI should be the one doing better⊠sighâŠâ âSorry for being so imperfectâŠâ Then he started talking about cameras and pictures, but anyways Iâm glad he spoke up and said something. I hope he didnât get in any trouble over this and that akgaes will just fully unstan after this. We donât need them submitted by /u/CleanPossibility256 [link] [comments]

What i mean by that is a song that got bad reception from fans or general Public when it was first released because it was so polarizing but after it got performed people started to changed their minds about the song and finally liked it. I think Gnarly by katseye is the prime example of this that's why i said gnarly treatment. Is there any songs by any groups that got that treatment?? submitted by /u/Party-Confection417 [link] [comments]
I need to vent about something Iâve been seeing on Tumblr. Thereâs this page on Tumblr that flat-out refuse to make edits or lockscreens of Chaeyoung. Their âreasonâ? The swastika shirt incident from 2023. Like⊠are we really still on this in late 2025? She already apologized, admitted it was wrong, and deleted the post. She didnât double down, she didnât ignore it, she did what everyone always asks idols to do: acknowledge, apologize, and learn. And look, letâs be real about the context. That shirt wasnât some neo-Nazi merch. It was an old punk aesthetic piece, tied to the Sex Pistols and the whole âshock value/anti-establishmentâ fashion that often used offensive imagery to provoke. That doesnât make it okay, obviously, but itâs important to understand it wasnât Chaeyoung going, âYeah, I love Nazis.â It was her wearing something she likely didnât know the full weight of. âWe have the right not to be comfortable editing pics of someone with that mentality.â What âmentalityâ? Chaeyoung has no ideological connection to Nazism. She apologized and acknowledged her mistake. To say that someone who made a mistake out of ignorance has a âNazi mentalityâ is dishonest and disproportionate. But these admins act like she committed an unforgivable crime and now theyâre on some âmoral missionâ to exclude her forever. They keep bringing it up whenever someone requests a Chaeyoung edit, and it honestly just feels like theyâre enjoying holding onto the drama more than actually caring about what happened. Meanwhile, itâs the fans who lose out. People who like Chaeyoung donât get content because the admins decided to keep punishing her indefinitely. And honestly, itâs not even activism at that point, itâs just bitterness disguised as righteousness. Plenty of idols have made mistakes, apologized, and moved forward. Why is Chaeyoung being singled out like this? If you really canât stand her, fine, just say you donât like her and move on. But stop pretending itâs about âprinciplesâ when sheâs already shown accountability. Itâs exhausting watching this kind of performative grudge-holding. Am I the only one who thinks this is way past ridiculous? submitted by /u/Trick_Director7825 [link] [comments]
