I wasnât planning to talk about this but I canât help but notice how Treasure is barely getting any recognition and achievementsâthey deserve so much more than shitty management. Iâve been a fan since pre-debut and it is kind of disappointing and heartbreaking to see that they could have been one of the biggest boy groups if it wasnât for YG being incompetent with handling them. I came across a video where Haruto was reacting to a new boygroup named âCortisâ (whose members were much younger than all of them), and I decided to read the comments after not expecting much. But I was surprised to see that there were a lot of comments talking about how Haruto seems like heâd fit right into that group perfectly and how you can see in his eyes that thatâs what he exactly wants and not whatever mess YG is putting them through. I couldnât help but think about it because itâs visible how Treasure is kind of a messy group that keeps shifting and evolving, then regressing. I know comparison isnât healthy and everyone has their own pace, but at this point, I think comparison could be good to exactly pinpoint and acknowledge how fucked their management is and how much potential has been wasted. Itâs a constant battle against their own potential thanks to YG. Treasure has a bunch of good rappers and singers and I think the company should put more efforts to showcase their talents and not just feel like a medium for them to earn profit or keep the company alive. Idk if itâs just me but Treasure feels out of place in YG and thereâs a constant shift between themes and concepts. As of last time, Asahi was able to take the lead and produce their title track, while for their latest right now (correct me if Iâm wrong), there were barely any participation involved in the work. Iâve heard of other k-pop idols in the industry having to comply with their company with whatever they throw at themânot being able to modify their song, particularly. And it somehow feels like that with Treasure. It feels like YG is just micromanaging this group. Maybe Iâm just confused, but surely, YG donât know how to handle them. I feel really bad because I know these boys trained so hard and worked their way up to be in this group. And I hate to say this: but, I would completely understand if another member leaves again. They have a couple of good songs here and there, and personally, Yellow was their best one so far. I donât have anything against their other songs but it feels too formulaic and forced, especially when it comes to their bridges. I know many would complain that YG is âfocused on the asian demographicâ but this is completely just an excuse for bad marketing. They need more recognition; their own strengths need more exposure; and they need songs that fit them all as a whole group and not something that feels unnatural or as if theyâre just following a certain trend. Donât get me wrong, I have no problems with groups following the current trends as of today, but you could feel when itâs not for the group. For fucks sake, YG is messing them up and wasting their potential and talent. I can completely acknowledge that Treasure is a very talented group, and I can also testify that all members have great personalities and are very understanding and supportive of their fans and each other. My boys donât deserve this kind of treatment and it is just so exhausting to see them be under the radar for so long now. TL;DR: YG keeps failing to show how Treasure is a good group. A lot of members are underrated and it feels like their company is just milking the shit out of themâcompletely disregarding their individual talents and strengths. Their growth has been stagnant ever since debut. submitted by /u/caouinowhere [link] [comments]

They are clearly trying to to appeal to a boy fanbase as well, even the merch looks like some Essentials streetwear. I really like the creative vision of the group and even knowing who was in the studio with them, like dammmnnnn. I already listen to genre similar like that from opium and travis and ect, and I don't mind having more, they're clearly having fun and experimenting. Also got me out of my Kpop slum that I have had for awhile, like daaaaaammn. People keep saying how much they sound like other artists but tbh, IDC. music has always been about sampling, referencing, and flipping sounds. picasso once said âgood artists copy, great artists stealâ and t.s. eliot said âimmature poets imitate, mature poets steal.â the point is, true artistry isnât ALWAYS about inventing something from scratch, itâs about taking influences and making them your own. thatâs exactly what theyâre doing. theyâre not just ripping off, theyâre collaborating, crediting, and pulling from the culture they grew up in. theyâre internet kids, and their sound is rooted in hip-hop. that makes sense, people connect with that vibe right now, same way they do with carti, travis, or even underground names like 2hollis. and what really makes them stand out is that unlike most kpop groups, theyâre also catering to a male audience. itâs not just polished pop aesthetics, itâs streetwear, fashion-forward, hip-hop infused energy that feels just as cool for guys as it does for girls. for a new group, they're exciting, not trying to overhype them but I can't wait to see what more they can bring as they progress and get better. submitted by /u/itsnikkie [link] [comments]

A Japanese kpop group that made headlines and have gathered tons of attention for their song "Let me Love" produced by Jinyoung, which garnered over 700k views, have now released their newest song called "Aing" and it now only has 10k views for the past 12 days, making fans speculate that they've lost over 90% of their fanbase" submitted by /u/Acrobatic_Plate_3488 [link] [comments]

I don't know what sub or flair this is supposed to go under, so I apologise if this isn't the right one. But I really like BTS' music, and was wondering if anyone could reccomend me either older or newer boy groups with a similar sound? Go as nugu or as famous as you want. submitted by /u/Calm-Comfortable2659 [link] [comments]
So I have been a stan of my ult boy group, TVXQ! since early 2004 and whilst watching a show with U-Know, they were discussing the group name origins and a thought that popped into my mind about group names and it bugged me as i am also a fond linguist and like learning about different languages and so I decided to investigate but to no avail. So being new to Reddit I thought I would ask fellow k-pop redditors if their ult/fave groups are know by a different name, nickname, abbreviation anywhere in the world other than the name they debuted within Korea. I thought I would also add this in to show what I mean with my question đ. In Korea TVXQ are known as Dong Bang Shin Ki Abbreviated as DBSK, which is written in hangul (the Korean alphabet) as ëë°©ì êž° and in hanja (Chinese characters) as æ±æčç„è”·. It is translated into English as "Rising Gods of the East." Because Chinese and Japanese also use Chinese characters, the hanja name of the band is used in those countries, but is pronounced differently. The Japanese pronuncation is romanized (written in the Latin alphabet) as TĆhĆshinki and the Chinese as Tong Vfang Xien Qi abbreviated as TVXQ! Another example I can think of is the same for Girls Generation as in Korea they are known as SNSD, apologises in advanced if I am wrong. But I think this may have been a thing older gens did to help with marketing the groups as sonyosidae (ìë ìë) may have been more difficult for international fans to pronounce especially to western side of the world where majority of the countries languages are have been latinised/romanised. submitted by /u/U-Know-Miyeon93 [link] [comments]
Are there idols or even whole groups that you want to be friends with ? Whether you think they're comforting or hilarious or just a good reliable person to be around etc This is supposed to be a light-hearted question so keep the "You don't know these people" comments to you . Personally I have been dreaming of befriending Seungkwan from SEVENTEEN , he seems so fun to hang out with , good at keeping conversations going , super entertaining and an absolute sweetheart overall . submitted by /u/GrabMore8308 [link] [comments]
I think I have seen at least 3 Idols who said that they saved their dad as "Papa Johns" on their Phone, and their moms usually as "Moms Touch" too. Does anyone keep track of who? submitted by /u/cat_girl10 [link] [comments]

I don't know if this is the right place to ask this, but I recently saw a Monsta X video on Music Bank and realized that IM wasn't in the choreography. Can anyone tell me why? Also, why he wasn't in some other Monsta X recent videos? submitted by /u/Low_Gene144 [link] [comments]

People give reasons as to why non-kpop/bad kpop win award shows all the time but then suddenly stop applying that logic when it comes to Lisa. Lisa won (and this is no hate to her), because she is famous, her song is the most westernized or "normal" out of the nominations, she had big popular western artists on the song, and the VMAs could not give less of a fuck about what is and isn't kpop, they just want to make moments and get buzz. It's that simple. Nothing more to it, nothing less. submitted by /u/SnooOranges829 [link] [comments]
I'm going to keep the groups anonymous, as well as myself incase she comes across this and happens to be on this sub. I am hyperfixated on a boygroup (10 years) that has been in hot water recently due to their brand choices and their marketing choices, particularly with one member. My friend, lets call her B, dislikes this boy group for good reason. We were talking just now, and her favourite happened to win a VMA which I wanted to talk about - despite me being upset my fav had lost, I was happy for hers. I brought up how I was upset and had hoped the ranking was fairer, to which she questioned why he should've won it. She then goes into this whole thing about how she dislikes the group and antis one member, so - me getting sick of her bringing it up over and over again - told her to stop talking about it if she dislikes him so much. I told her I was hyperfixated, AKA - an indicator for her to stop as I'd already felt bad for it beforehand, and then she proceeded to talk about that member in particular and how she antis him. We haven't spoken for 33 minutes, I don't think I'm going to for the rest of the night as I'm pretty upset with her. I don't know if I'm overreacting, but it's tiring having someone tell you the same thing over and over again especially if they KNOW you like a certain group. She can dislike them and anti them, I don't care. But if I'm not judging her faves and constantly going on about how I dislike them, I want her to be the same. submitted by /u/Calm-Comfortable2659 [link] [comments]
