I’ve made multiple posts on alts, alts of alts, my friend’s acc and at least 90% there’s always some random person hating for no reason. So why? Is it just for shits and giggles or is it just a common thing? submitted by /u/Strange-Equal-7127 [link] [comments]
I say 3/4 because obviously hybe wasn’t big until BTS and I’m sure army’s have some stories to tell. I know idols under big companies can have struggles, especially when it comes to favouring certain groups, but I’d like to highlight some of the groups who made it big who didn’t have the same opportunities as others. The main one that comes to mind is seventeen, who I Stan but aren’t my ult - them filming their own music videos and woozi putting in so much effort makes me so happy to see them where they are now Ateez needs a mention as well - always booked, doing everything they can to promote their group. The pre debut videos of them on the street asking people to come to their shows always pops up in my mind when I see their tour videos nowadays. submitted by /u/jakylln [link] [comments]
Some idol stage names are sleek and simple, others are bold, mysterious, or just really fun to say. I’m curious whose stage name has always stood out to you and why? Whether it’s the meaning behind it, the way it sounds, or how well it fits their vibe, feel free to share your picks! (Bonus points if the name has a fun backstory!) submitted by /u/Positive_Glass_442 [link] [comments]

Let me preface this by saying this isn’t a reflection of how I personally feel about K-Pop, but rather something I’ve been observing for a while now. K-Pop, at its core, is Korean pop music. It has built a massive global fanbase, and some would even argue that it is mainstream. I’m not here to tell you that’s wrong, but I am here to suggest that K-Pop might never be as mainstream as some people hope it will be. At least, not in the way Western pop dominates the global scene. Let’s talk about radio play, which still plays a significant role in defining what’s “mainstream.” I’m Belgian, and I listen to the radio regularly. Off the top of my head, here are the K-Pop (or K-Pop-adjacent) songs I’ve heard played more than once: “Cupid” (English version) by FIFTY FIFTY “Dynamite” by BTS “My Universe” by Coldplay & BTS “APT” by Bruno Mars & Rosé “Kiss and Make Up” by Dua Lipa & BLACKPINK “One of the Girls” by The Weeknd & Jennie And of course, “Gangnam Style” by PSY What do these all have in common? Except for Gangnam Style, they’re either fully in English or collaborations with major Western artists. That pattern isn’t a coincidence—it’s part of a larger reality. We can argue all day about how frustrating it is that many people don’t give foreign-language music a chance, and yeah, it is frustrating. But most of the time, it’s not out of malice. People just tend to gravitate toward music they can understand. Lyrics often shape emotional connection, and when that connection is missing, people tune out. TikTok has shifted the music landscape significantly. You could argue it's also become a landscape to explore new music and for songs to go viral. Plenty of K-Pop sounds have gone viral there recently. But even on TikTok, I’ve noticed that the viral sounds people latch onto are often instrumental—no lyrics, no language barrier. And look, I don’t think there’s a problem with this. In fact, I think most K-Pop companies understand the limitations of language in the global market. That’s why we’re seeing groups like KATSEYE, which are clearly built with international success in mind. I’ve already been hearing Gabriella on the radio nearly every other day, which says a lot. It's not hugely different from let's say Senorita by G-Idle for example, but it's in English instead of Korean, and therefor it gets radio success much easier. Yes, there are occasional exceptions where songs in other languages go global. But unless it's in English or sometimes Spanish, it's just that: an exception, not the norm. The K-Pop model clearly works. It’s innovative, polished, and incredibly marketable. That’s why it remains such a global force. But if the goal is to reach even more people, the most effective (and predictable) route is through English-language releases or groups that embody the K-Pop formula in an English-speaking format. Again, none of this reflects how I want things to be—I’d love to see people give more music a chance, regardless of language. I can think of dozens of Dutch songs that are absolute masterpieces, but they’ll likely never be heard outside of Belgium or the Netherlands. Meanwhile, one of the few Dutch songs that did go viral internationally is... well, let’s just say it wasn’t exactly a cultural gem. It’s frustrating, but it’s also reality. There's obvioulsy also still a large part of people that don't want to give Kpop a chance because of the fandom culture too, but language plays a very significant and almost unforgettable part. submitted by /u/Due_Improvement_5699 [link] [comments]
Just curious—if you had the chance to collaborate with any K-Pop idol or group, who would you pick? Could be someone legendary like Taemin or IU, or a current fave like Yeji or J-Hope. And what kind of project would you want to do? A song, a dance, a variety show, or something else? Personally, I’d love to collab with [insert your fave idol] because [insert why]. Can’t wait to see everyone’s dream collabs! submitted by /u/Itsjustonyx [link] [comments]

Seriously, I've been trying to spot the signs that the teasers are AI, and I swear I don't see it. They're not sloppy images; they look pretty elaborate... Furthermore, it's a shot in the foot to openly admit from the very beginning that you used AI, when most companies try to deny it until the very end. I feel like it's not AI or not completely AI, but they're trying to create ragebait to get the comeback going and build anticipation of whether the MV will also use AI. That or I'm too blind to notice if it's AI xD if it really is, I apologize. submitted by /u/_issio [link] [comments]
Im not an army, but I’m a p1ece and (ex-ish) blink, and honestly, I don’t think bts‘ music is good but bts‘ jump is better than Blackpink Jump. Piwons is still the best tho (In my opinion) submitted by /u/DaGayEnby [link] [comments]
In an alternate universe/timeline, which groups would have seen the biggest impact? Because 2 years or 1 year and a half is a LONG TIME especially if you’re at the peak of your career. A lot could have happened, on top of maintaining momentum. I often wonder, would EXO have looked differently? Would BTS have made an even bigger impact on the global stage? What would hypothetically happen? submitted by /u/Playful_Study_6290 [link] [comments]

I´m very interested in all the different projects Hybe is currently working on. From a business point of view, it´s fascinating to see how a small almost bankrupt company turned into a conglomerate. (Thank you, BTS) This is a quick summary of their different projects and my thoughts about them: -Hybe Korea - Very established. Their main pillar is still BTS, it´s the backbone that gives investors the confidence that even if other ventures fail, BTS will always bring money. But Hybe has diversified a lot, their strenght is boygroups, they have boygroups basically for every demographic and music style you want. Their weakness is still girlgroups, with only two and the ongoing NJs conflict that keeps attacking them. Hopefully that will be solved soon. -Hybe Japan - Their main act is &Team. They´re doing very well, their releases always top Oricon charts. If they keep going this way, they´ll be a top group in Japan. Recently Hybe debuted another group: Aoen, they´re targeting a younger demographic with a fresh sound. -Hybe America - Honestly I think from a business point of view that Scooter Braun was a huge huge waste of money. Hybe spent a lot on him thinking that he would bring his artists (Bieber, Ariana, Demi) on to the Hybe train, but that never happened. He did nothing good for the American branch, the proof is he´s basically fired. Numbers are numbers and he kept the branch on red. The only good thing that has come of Hybe America is Katseye, and I would say it´s more because Geffen knows how to move in the American market, and they´re promoting the girls everywhere while Hybe only gives then money and support when they go to Asia. Katseye has a souldout US and Mexico tour. If they continue like this, they´ll be a top girl group. Hybe America also has a project for a boygroup lead by producer Ryan Tedder. That also will be very interesting to see how they develop. -Hybe Latin America - Their current projects are a reality called Pase a la fama, to form a regional music group, it´s joint project with broadcasting latino channel Telemundo. It already started in June. There´s also another reality project called Santos Bravos that will form a boy group. This show will start in August. -Hybe India and China - It´s speculated that those branches will help Hybe artists to tour those countries. There´s no solid information about them yet. What are your thoughts on these projects? What do you expect to see in the future?? I´m curious to see if Hybe will be operating in Europe too. It´s a good market that has not been properly tapped in. submitted by /u/stellarmacaron [link] [comments]
Before I start i like to say that I am a armycarat so. For the past few weeks I have seen some tweets about this and it is weird, like people are convinced that they know Jungkook’s friends more than he does, and they talk like they haven’t been friends even before bts explode…. I know bts had some people being friends with them for interest before but that is not the case here… submitted by /u/Visual-Ad7631 [link] [comments]
