Why are songwriters so obsessed with food-based songs where idols compare themselves to a type of food? I never know if I’m supposed to take the song in a fun, innocent light or as a tongue-in-cheek sexual metaphor. It’s difficult to compare people to food and use words like taste, eat, and swallow without it sounding weird. I am probably being a little over the top on this because I am learning Korean and trying to pronounce things properly, but every single reaction channel pronounces maknae as mach-nay instead of the correct mang-nay. I know this is because the Romanization includes a K and English speakers will just pronounce that as mach. And nobody ever calls them on it, I guess, because it makes you sound elite or something. I hate whenever I discover a new bg/gg that isn't as famous as other groups and see a clear favoritism for certain members and nobody points it out. I get that in some cases the lack of lines isn't because the members are being discriminated against, but because there are people who deliver the lines better. BUT there are cases in which the favoritism is blatant and nobody points it out and instead they ignore the member. Unknown and the lesser known groups particularly tend to get away with this a lot. The group starts with the members having a similar line distribution, then the next comeback the member who does not conform the physical ideals as much as the others gets less lines and it goes downhill from there. Most of the time you notice how said member always gets worse outfits, and oh isn't it strange how in the performances he's the only one in the back being covered whenever he doesn't have to deliver his lines? And most of the times this member tends to be japanese/chinese (point here is this member tend to be non Korean). In the most infuriating cases the member that's being erased is actually one of the most talented members. And nobody speaks about it, they ignore it. I've seen this happen many times with different groups but the most recent case I could find, and what made me want to wite this post, is Amaru (Kickflip).
