Articles / Timeline 250422 This day marks one year since HYBE launched their audit of Min Hee Jin and ADOR's management. Happy(?) 1st anniversary of the Megathreads! 250502 The 3rd hearing for Min Hee Jin vs. Belift Lab was set to take place but postponed to July 18th at Belift Lab's request. Each side is due to present their arguments/documents regarding plagiarism issues at the next meeting. (Source: Maeil Kyungjae) 250530 We learned that ADOR had filed for 'indirect enforcement' after their injunction was granted and NewJeans performed at ComplexCon back in March (Filed on April 4th according to the statement from NewJeans' representatives linked below). On the 30th, the 52nd Division of the Seoul Central District court further granted this request. The 'indirect enforcement' ruling means that each individual member of NewJeans will be fined 1 billion won (approx. $725,000) if they continue with entertainment activities independent of ADOR, which would be in violation of the injunction. This enforcement with potential fines does NOT apply to any of NewJeans' independent activities between the granting of the injunction and the granting of this 'indirect enforcement'. These fines will only apply to future activities going forward, or at least until rulings with NewJeans' appeal or the main contract validity case changes anything (next hearing on June 5th). (Source: Chosun Biz, MK Sports) The Korea Herald: Court orders NewJeans to pay Ador 1 billion won for each unauthorized activity Discussion Post Korea JoongAng Daily: Court orders NewJeans members to pay ADOR $725,600 for every independent entertainment activity A statement by NewJeans' representatives was made later in the day primarily acknowledging the indirect enforcement ruling, but reiterating that it is temporary and will no longer have an effect if NewJeans win their appeal of the injunction. (Source: Ilgan Sports) The 2nd hearing for Source Music's damages lawsuit against Min Hee Jin took place at the 12th Civil Affairs Division of the Seoul Western District Court. (Quick recap: 1st was January 10th, 2nd was previously scheduled for March 14th, postponed per Source Music's request). Legal representatives were present. Source Music had a 20-minute presentation prepared, but Min Hee Jin's representatives objected to the inclusion of KakaoTalk messages in the presentation. They claimed the messages were illegally obtained and requested the hearing to be closed/private. Source Music denied the messages were obtained illegally, claiming they were gained from company devices with consent. The court went with a temporary compromise to keep the hearing public, but not allow discussion/display of the messages until they were reviewed again. A special hearing to review the messages will take place June 27th. (Source: Sports Today) 250605 The Seoul Central District Court Division 41 held the second hearing for ADOR seeking confirmation of validity for their exclusive contract with NewJeans. Only legal representatives were in attendance. NewJeans' side primarily argued that ADOR had not met their obligations and that their evidence they were preparing to support NewJeans' activities, like finding a new producer, was inadequate. ADOR's side argued that NewJeans' reasons for allegedly terminating their contract continually changed, indicating they are arbitrary and being made up with retroactive hindsight. The issue of some evidence being collected illegally also came up again from NewJeans' side. Judge Jung Hoe-Il specifically inquired if both/either sides were willing to come to an agreement, encouraging them to do so. NewJeans' representatives strongly indicated this was unlikely as the trust in ADOR had completely collapsed. ADOR's representatives indicated they could see negotiating an agreement once the court comes to a final decision. The 3rd hearing was set for July 24th. (Sources: X Sport News, Maeil Kyungjae) 250612 The next hearing regarding the Shareholder Agreement termination and exercising put/call options lawsuits between HYBE and Min Hee Jin was held at the Seoul Central District Court's 31st Division. Arguments from each side mostly re-tread what we've already covered. HYBE's side argued they were justified in ending the shareholder agreement due to the threat Min Hee Jin posed to the company. Min Hee Hin's side argued the timing of the audit/termination did not align purely with that concern and that some KakaoTalk messages and emails were obtained illegally and not admissable as evidence. HYBE also indicated they had a witness to give testimony at the next meeting, which the court accepted. The next hearing with closing arguments, was set for September 11th for both lawsuits. (Sources: Maeil Kyungjae, TV Daily, Sports Today) 250617 Following up from April 16th when NewJeans appealed the court's decision to uphold the injunction and halt on their independent activities, the Seoul High Court reaffirmed the earlier decision. The court rejected NewJeans' appeal. They determined there was no significant change in the material/arguments presented for the appeal and the original decision to grant ADOR's injunction was justified. There was further clarification that the management conflict between HYBE and Min Hee Jin, and her no longer being NewJeans' producer, did not constitute a valid argument for the alleged collapse of trust between ADOR and NewJeans. The group's withdrawal from ADOR is considered arbitrary, that their artistic freedom or activity is not impeded since they are able to do so within their exclusive contract, and that any damages resulting from attempting independent activities are self-inflicted. 14.618. A quick note about the generalization rule

  • 2 years ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

The subreddit is mostly uncensored as long as people follow the rules. Generalizing statement about Korea, Korean society, etc or most other countries are not acceptable except under the following standards: The only claims that are acceptable when generalizing Korean society in this sub are those that bring up generalizable stastical claims by the standards of the international statistics institute. Not only do the vast majority of stastistics you can find on the internet about Korea not up to this minimum, basic standard but this requirement includes having ample sample size, blocking by relevant demographics and sometimes even double blind tests. So if you make a generalizing claim, your wording must be properly formatted and links to the relevant studies provided. In other words, the standard for making a generalization is very high in this sub. Not to mention the wording for your claim has to be properly made. Anyone who has taken a college level statistics class will know what I am talking about and we may even require you to provide the confidence level interval if it's relevant for your study. If you cannot meet these standards, I would just avoid doing it in general. submitted by /u/Kpop_Love_Forever [link] [comments]

1. I created a kpop group inspired by SUGA called "SWG"

  • 28 minutes ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

In 2023, I met Kang, the CEO of a small Korean company. He praised my potential but made it clear that I needed to improve my skills. He asked me to improve my Korean and gave me almost a year to prepare. We set a date: November 6, 2024. During this time, I had an inspiration: I created the group "SWG." The project took four months of intense work to complete. I presented the idea to Kang, and he liked it and said he would support the project. In the meantime, I was selected for another audition in Korea. They asked me to come to Korea on a specific date and month and said they would arrange a place for me to stay and participate in the competition. I said I couldn't go because I didn't have the money at the time, so they simply ignored me. I wanted to be loyal to Kang's small company, as I had promised, so after a while, I started ignoring another company that had contacted me. I still needed to finalize and structure the marketing strategies for the project and the necessary investment specifications for the group, something that could take approximately six months and include around 1,000 slides and other documents. Meanwhile, while preparing the marketing strategies for the group, Kang began to ignore me for an as-yet-unknown reason. I became discouraged. I became so discouraged that I stopped working on the marketing strategies and realized that perhaps I shouldn't have ignored other companies that wanted me. I simply wanted to give up on everything; it's very difficult to work without some kind of financial or business support. I was working so hard on the project that I simply ignored the people around me, including my family. During this period, I ended up having a burnout that made me lose the desire to do everything I loved, including music. I simply lost the desire to be an artist. So I wanted to give up, but while on YouTube, I came across "Agust D," the artist who sparked these dreams in me when I was 13. Hearing the song "Snooze," I finally felt the support I needed, and so I wrote a response song on June 6, 2024, called "Rosa Azul." During this time, I started thinking about the negative aspects of being an artist, such as being yelled at, exaggerated compliments, unrequited love, lack of privacy, mental exhaustion, and lack of time to focus on myself. I also learned during this period that sometimes we get so focused on our dreams that we forget to improve ourselves as human beings. The years pass so quickly, and over time we realize that we may never feel the same way again. My feelings that I had over many years simply faded. Emotions change, experiences transform us, and what was once intense can become just memories. Because people change all the time, and so do their thoughts, feelings, and opinions. Each person lives in their own world. While you see one reality or a phase of life, someone else may experience something completely different. This requires patience and empathy. We shouldn't expect everyone to think like us. It's important not to fixate on a single thing for too long. Our minds have the power to create unrealistic scenarios and possibilities that don't exist. This can generate unnecessary anxiety and frustration. The world we live in is built by our actions. There's no set destiny, only choices. Therefore, we shouldn't expect something to be prepared for us. Just go after what you want, and if something doesn't happen as expected, we must accept that there are many things we can avoid, but others that simply cannot be changed. In these cases, acceptance is the only possible path. After all, one day we will all die, and that is part of human existence. What we do between the beginning and the end is what truly matters. I'm currently taking care of my mental health. The burnout I suffered was very severe, and I had to be hospitalized and take heavy medication. And it was in this darkness that songs like Snooze made me find a reason to live again. My only dream is to meet Agust D. submitted by /u/snow20300612 [link] [comments]

As the title states: Rosé needs an improved stylist and glam team. It’s no secret that looking amazing at red carpet and press events does a lot of good for generating buzz and catching the public’s eye. For an easy comparison, look at Lisa. Her team has been pulling out all of the stops and she has been looking stunning and it’s keeping her in the press. Rosé is everywhere right now and I would love to see more looks that compliment her better! How much of what we’ve seen from Rosé do you think is her own influence? this might might be a little controversial. i’m going to give them their 10’s because they improved a lot in their performances and stage presence. i totally agree with the criticism bcs they’ve debuted for a while and not a drastic improvement. people need to understand aespa is vocal centered yk? like how itzy is dance centered? and at the end of the day i’m just here for the music. when i turn on spotify i’m not seeing their faces but listening to the most angelic vocals submitted by /u/GYUSLOV3R [link] [comments]

7. Just got into exo, now I need to know everything that happened in the past few years.

  • 2 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I just found exo today from their song "first snow". I've known individual members for a pretty long time now, and have listened some of their solo stuff, so I finally decided to give in and listen to the actual group, and now I'm mesmerised. It feels like fate, really, after avoiding them for so long, I'm finally exploring them right when all the members are back and there's hint of a comeback. But what... exactly happened in the past few years? It seems as if everywhere I look exo up, theres one member or the other who isn't there. I haven't really followed along the lawsuits that happened, all I'm aware of is SM is, and has always been, a crappy label towards their artists, what with the multiple lawsuits filed by so many of its former artists. Anyhow, ive mostly heard of exo with either one or two of its members leaving or on hiatus (in contrast to 'we are one', i've rarely ever seen them all as one except for wayyyy back). For one of the most legendary groups in kpop, they sure have had a lot to deal with. So...what exactly was their career trajectory, what went down behind cameras, and where do we stand now in terms of ever seeing a full comeback with all 9 (?is that right?) members? I would love to be able to witness them and see them perform live as a whole, but at the present moment I'm not even sure if that's gonna happen. submitted by /u/ghurrat-al-layl [link] [comments]

8. I Hope Other Groups Start Following Twice's Lead When It Comes To Touring

So, Twice just announced the US dates for their 2026 tour, and there were so many unexpected cities like Vancouver, Boston, Philadelphia, Denver and Saint Paul. And I think touring companies need to start paying attention, not every K-Pop can afford to travel for shows, and it's just really nice to see a group finally expand outside of the normal cities for K-Pop tour. This does make me a bit hopeful going foward with other tours, but I could be proven wrong submitted by /u/cwarosvski [link] [comments]

12. The almost obsessive need to critisize Wonyoung is bizarre

  • 3 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I think it's kind of interesting just how obsessed people are with this girl that there is ALWAYS some kind of discussion about her behavior, her attitude, her looks, her skills... Like so obsessive that the thing she's getting hate for right now is being absent when some fans pictured the other members being together... I honestly would love for someone to analyze this phenomenon that people seem to have towards Wonyoung because as a fan of kpop since 2017 I genuinely can't think of any idol that has been in people's mouth for this long and this obsessive. The closest is Jennie, but even then I think atleast for her some of the criticism is valid. Wonyoung seems to have been in headlines for a hundred different 'controversies' and has yet to do something actually 'controversial'. Is it that? Are people still so obsessed, even after 4-5 years to critisize this girl because they simply can't believe that they're not going to find dirt on her? submitted by /u/Due_Improvement_5699 [link] [comments]
