For those who don't know what the term Red Face means, well., Here's an explanation. In Korea, writing a living person's name in red ink is considered really unlucky and it could be harmful in deadly ways. Basically, it's what the red face is, but it's a bit different. Doing a red face on someone in Korea means you wish them death, or you want them to die. It's mainly 2 Tiktokers that will be listed. They both take random photos of Straykids members, and editing them to make them look so distorted, scary, or dead. Sort of like analog horror, but here's where it gets serious. The first TikToker, redfacehyunjin0, has a bio saying "Hyunjin next Moonbin" which is extremely disrespectful on many levels. Moonbin was a K-pop member of the band ASTRO. Before he got unalived by a heart condition on April 19th, 2023, not very long ago. And redfacehyunjin's videos of... Well, you guessed it, red face Hyunjin. The second TikToker goes by the name redfacestraykids on TikTok. They do the exact same thing as redfacehyunjin. They take random photos of Member(s) and make them look scary, distorted, or dead. Hopefully TikTok reaches out onto this and bans these accounts. It angers me to the point where I want to punch a hole into my wall. What did they every do to them??? I will probably get a lot of hate for this. I'm just really disappointed with this comeback. I've never replayed an Ateez comeback so few times because by the first two listens, I was already bored of it. Even the bsides aren't great to me either, which is rare. I know this is subjective but I feel sad seeing this decline from Ateez. It really feels like they're going for more trendy, short term hits, but with very little effort. Also, the line distribution has somehow gotten worse. It really does feel like they're just phoning it in right now and I don't know if this is intentional or if it's due to exhaustion. I don't think everything needs to be grand, loud and greater than life, but I do think there is a uniqueness to how Ateez carries themselves and I personally think it's completely lost on this comeback. I think back to Wave and how much more I still enjoy that song because despite aiming to be a summer pop hit, it still very much carries that Ateez flare that makes them special. I hope you all understand my position. I'm not trying to be a hater by any means. Maybe that’s an unpopular opinion considering everything that’s happened, but I truly believe the girls will do well. The solo era showed that they enjoy what they’re doing and are always trying to improve. Lisa and Jennie at Coachella are great examples of that. They were recently seen in LA and heading out for the tour, so I’m sure it’s going to be a great one, and I believe all the criticism during the Born Pink Tour will be used as motivation to show how much they’ve grown. My only concern is about the comeback. It won’t be easy to promote a song or an album during a tour, not to mention that Rosé will be releasing a new solo track and Jisoo has her acting commitments. Should we be worried over ador looking for boys in the age bracket 2006 and later for their new boy group? If my math is right those the oldest trainee in 2006 is 19.
