The subreddit is mostly uncensored as long as people follow the rules. Generalizing statement about Korea, Korean society, etc or most other countries are not acceptable except under the following standards: The only claims that are acceptable when generalizing Korean society in this sub are those that bring up generalizable stastical claims by the standards of the international statistics institute. Not only do the vast majority of stastistics you can find on the internet about Korea not up to this minimum, basic standard but this requirement includes having ample sample size, blocking by relevant demographics and sometimes even double blind tests. So if you make a generalizing claim, your wording must be properly formatted and links to the relevant studies provided. In other words, the standard for making a generalization is very high in this sub. Not to mention the wording for your claim has to be properly made. Anyone who has taken a college level statistics class will know what I am talking about and we may even require you to provide the confidence level interval if it's relevant for your study. If you cannot meet these standards, I would just avoid doing it in general. submitted by /u/Kpop_Love_Forever [link] [comments]
I'm just bored and curious. For my ult group, Stray kids, I'd like them to make a song with a jersey club type beat- similar to the beginning of the ATE trailer. The mix of their rap and vocals over that kind of rhythm would be really interesting to hear. submitted by /u/EcstaticTrack2632 [link] [comments]
In 2009, BoA released a self titled English album. It was mostly dance pop that was very popular in the west at the time, and I feel like it doesn't get talked about enough for how many Blackout/In The Zone rejects are on there. BoA pretty much released a Britney Spears album with the amount of demos and it's so funny to me. Obsessed, Scream, Energetic, Look Who's Talking off of the top of my head were all pitched and even some were recorded by Britney before production changed their minds. submitted by /u/fishingforsomepies [link] [comments]

For me this has to be NMIXX . expergó is pretty good but everything after is an absolute banger then there is the first of 3 fe3O4 Ep : Break. This one is very very good especially Passionfruit and Run for roses. Then Stick Out Beat Beat alone justify it being an absolute banger. and finally Forward. There isn't one of those 6 songs I didn't obssesed over especially Golden Recipe, Know about me also being Their best title track in my opinion. SPINNIN' ON IT is also incredible. I have to say my exceptations for Blue valentine are pretty much in the sky but I know they will succeed to reach them. submitted by /u/Gullible_Gear_5543 [link] [comments]
I came across this post https://www.reddit.com/r/kpop_uncensored/s/Hq71NTZahv it's about op asking how relevant KPop in their home countries and majority of the answer is still very niche/not mainstream. So if KPop is not mainstream anywhere else it's better to be popular in the home country which is Korea if they want to have a long lasting career. So groups like straykids and ateez Will not last long because they re not popular in their home country submitted by /u/Chemical_Mobile_6613 [link] [comments]
That's basically it. I mean choosing a band that already disbanded and that you liked so you can have another chance to do it again now. submitted by /u/Mayh_3m [link] [comments]

I'M NOT JOKING ON THIS ONE someone really said to my face that i must've thought of sleeping with the idols I'm watching on a random sunny day 🤦🏻♀️ being a kpop fan comes with many struggles and one of them is dealing with these type of people submitted by /u/SmoothGrand4695 [link] [comments]
Is this like an indicator of disbandment or something? Other than announcements I haven't really seen other postings. Seems kinda awkward to just leave behind the group like that rather than using the momentum to do more group promotions. submitted by /u/moomoomilky1 [link] [comments]

I don’t know, this randomly popped in my head: if you and your friend group were in a kpop group, what would be your role? I’m the only one who really dances in my friend group, and I’ve been dancing since I was 3, so I think I’d be the main/lead dancer. And maybe visual? It sounds weird to say that, because I don’t think I’m better looking than the rest of them, but I care more about appearance and looks than the rest of my friends. I looked up the definition of a visual in kpop just to make sure. Which is, “the member of a group who is considered to best fit the prevailing Korean beauty standards, often embodying a specific look that is highly valued in Korean culture”(google). I only have one friend in my friend group who is Korean, but she’s not the performing type at all. Imagining her performing does not at all work inside my head. It’s not that she’s bad, it’s just not her thing. But, I’m not Korean, I’m an American. And I think I fit the “beauty standards” or “beauty stereotypes” in America. Sorry for explaining so much. I just don’t want to seem full of myself. But yeah, what position/s would you have? (Also, I’m still kind of new to Kpop, so if I got anything wrong, please let me know. Thanks!) submitted by /u/dancing_hpfan [link] [comments]
I think seventeen will win album of the year for spill the feels but I think it’s possible stray kids Karma could win. 60% is based on sales and streams and 40% is based on judges. I think sales and streams are similar, but seventeens are a little higher (I am not confident about my numbers). So arguably judges can say it’s not fair to compare 5 weeks of sales and streams for karma against a full year of sales and streams for STF and will therefore award it to karma which had higher numbers for the first 5 weeks alone. I assume they are both options for artist of the year too, but there are lots of other options. submitted by /u/Hopeful_Shelter_443 [link] [comments]
I have always found kazuha to be extremely pretty but I think she is rarely brought up in the 4th gen visual conversation but I think I know why after seeing these. She looks like she fits in a period piece. Stunning, elegance really is her thing. submitted by /u/Additional-Buy-5663 [link] [comments]
We’re conducting a research study about Korean media fans of color. If you consider yourself a fan, not just someone who watches every now and then, but someone really into K-pop, dramas or any other pop culture; you’re either Asian, Black, or Latine; you’re 18 or older; and you live in the U.S. or Canada, we’d really like to have a Zoom interview you. You can expect that the interview will last about an hour to an hour-and-a-half. Your interview will help us learn more about both fans of color and fans of East Asian popular culture. Currently, there are no academic books about fans of East Asian popular culture, and there is only one book about fans of color of any media! Your interview would help us as we put together a book about Korean media fans of color. For more information, contact David Oh ([dcoh@syr.edu](mailto:dcoh@syr.edu)) or Min Joo Lee ([mlee4@oxy.edu](mailto:mlee4@oxy.edu)). Please note that Zoom interviews have to be recorded in order for them to be transcribed (writing out the responses). The recordings will be deleted as soon as the transcripts are created, and they will be confidential – never shared or shown). submitted by /u/KindReality [link] [comments]
I’m taking a gender studies class and want to write about sexism in the kpop industry. What do you guys think are examples of sexism in kpop? Either specific examples or just broad issues in the industry itself. What are some issues that women in kpop have to deal with but men don’t (or vice versa, I suppose)? submitted by /u/eveningsnewestetoile [link] [comments]
Idols are beautiful with or without makeup, but I almost never see pics without makeup. These are photos of Oneus from when Seoho enlisted this year. submitted by /u/Funwithnugukpop [link] [comments]
