The subreddit is mostly uncensored as long as people follow the rules. Generalizing statement about Korea, Korean society, etc or most other countries are not acceptable except under the following standards: The only claims that are acceptable when generalizing Korean society in this sub are those that bring up generalizable stastical claims by the standards of the international statistics institute. Not only do the vast majority of stastistics you can find on the internet about Korea not up to this minimum, basic standard but this requirement includes having ample sample size, blocking by relevant demographics and sometimes even double blind tests. So if you make a generalizing claim, your wording must be properly formatted and links to the relevant studies provided. In other words, the standard for making a generalization is very high in this sub. Not to mention the wording for your claim has to be properly made. Anyone who has taken a college level statistics class will know what I am talking about and we may even require you to provide the confidence level interval if it's relevant for your study. If you cannot meet these standards, I would just avoid doing it in general. submitted by /u/Kpop_Love_Forever [link] [comments]
What a time it was last year. I remember tearing up with joy from reading the announcement and going on tiktok and twitter to see people celebrating. I also remember crying when he was announced to depart the group three days after. So crazy that all of this happened because he dated and smoked BEFORE debuting. Crazy. Though I no longer keep up with RIIZE, I hope all of the boys are doing well. And proud of Seunghan for persisting. submitted by /u/haegirl [link] [comments]

Iβm not sure if someone has already said this but personally I find it really odd when people try to call idols their real names if said idol has a stage name they go by. Itβs mostly just a personal thing but I find it extremely odd calling an artist you donβt know their real name when they have a stage name for a reason. Example: SUGA from BTS being called Min Yoon-gi Even if the idols are comfortable with it I just find it personally slightly odd since the idols picked (usually) a stage name for a reason submitted by /u/Vegetable-Hope-1641 [link] [comments]
I am looking for an honest conversation about the quality of kpop music at the moment compared to previous years (please no fanwars/stan type comments, only focus on the music). As a kpop fan since 2015 I haven't really been feeling the music this year compared to previous ones. I make sure to listen to every popular group's comeback and as many nugu groups as I can each year. When I scroll through my yearly playlists I feel like the group music has been especially weak this year compared to previous ones. To me the soloists have played a much bigger part in creating quality music this year. Maybe I'm just getting older or the easy-listening trend just isn't my cup of tea (but there have also been lots of non easy-listening songs this year compared to last year). But this is why I am curious to hear the opinions from brand new, unbiased kpop fans who have only become obsessed with the whole genre this year! What are thoughts on the quality of kpop after your first year of having listened to it? submitted by /u/randomnarwhalaccount [link] [comments]
I recently made a post asking people what they thought of recent girl groups Japanese releases. I got a few recommendations and checked them out and they were so much better than the Korean releases π (At least in my opinion). I'm not really into illit but a couple of people recommended Toki Yo Tomare and it was so good?? And it's not just illit, I actually prefer the recent Japanese releases of Itzy, lsf and I've to their Korean releases. Why does it feel like they're saving the best songs for Japan π submitted by /u/Infamous_Egg_5625 [link] [comments]
These girls deserved so much better in the lyrics department. And before you say "lazy songwriting and lyrics is just part of kpop!" No. No it isn't. Bad and cheezy songwriting is, but not lazy songwriting. They are different even if they often overlap. submitted by /u/SnooOranges829 [link] [comments]
I know Apink since 2015. was a big fan for NoNoNo and Remember (ofc I still am!). but I havn't became a Panda till 2020 when Dumhdurum came out. I think the LOOK album is one of my fav Apink memories. it made me feel as if Dumhdurum is song of the year which to me it is, honestly this song still top at least my top 50 songs yearly even 5 years after release! other memory I love is of course Remember when it came out. can't believe that I kinda were there! and when Eunji relased Away (July 2020) she made that Vlive for the comeback, I miss Vlive, but this memory when I watched that live with her dogs is also my fav. since there is alot of pandas who knew Apink before I did, what is your fav Apink memory? would love to hear your stories π©· submitted by /u/Middle-Dragonfly-489 [link] [comments]

IZNA's Sarang and Red Velvet's Wendy are looking really alike lately!! Am I crazy, or do you see it too???? (Wendy is one of my utts, so maybe they don't look that much alike, but I know Wendy's face so well that I see a bit of her in everyone or something lol) I think it might be the eyes and the face shape...?? submitted by /u/cool_username14 [link] [comments]
IMO, the fact that txt doesnβt have stage names is really nice. It makes them seem more genuine and makes it easier to communicate with them since they arenβt hidden under a stage persona. I wish more groups would have members that use their actual names in performances instead of a stage one. submitted by /u/Effective_Cash9085 [link] [comments]
iβm just wondering about your opinion. like letβs say they have good stage presence, passion, and a wonderful personality. but, their natural singing voice is βmehβ. is it forgivable? im asking cuz i wanted to be an idol when i was younger, but my natural vocal colour isnβt that great. submitted by /u/Seyna_Dreamy [link] [comments]
βββββββββββββββββ Hey everyone, Twice is back with a special album to commemorate their 10th anniversary as a group. Being a Kpop group for 10 years is an accomplishment and something that should be celebrated with any group. Before I hop into the project, I made a list of all the Twice album reviews Iβve done since I started reviewing music. As someone who has been a Once since 2015, Iβm excited to explore this album and see what all the members have done with the record. Now letβs jump in as we celebrate the 10 years of Twice. βββββββββββββββββ https://preview.redd.it/50tpg4pqwbuf1.jpg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cb902bb898994aa77b12a5c5d50bd1d6b0c488cf Past Twice Review Blogs: Twice First Full Album Twice Is In Love Summer With Twice Like Bulldozer, Like A Tank Twice!! Me + You The opening song on the album is the title track, which all the members helped co-write. The song is an R&B-pop tune that feels like it came right out of the 2000s. The members bring in smooth vocals that blend with the bouncy instrumental. I love the groovy nature that the tune delivers, fitting the lyrics. The hook has been stuck in my head as the lyrics and melody help make it catchy. Momo and Chae do a little rap that adds to the overall vibe of the song. The members' vocals hit hard on this tune, pulling everything together. The message of this tune hits as well as you can tell that this group has a bond and how much theyβve grown over the years since their debut back in 2015. Me + You opens up this project perfectly as everything fits together wonderfully. https://preview.redd.it/ohtrd38zwbuf1.jpg?width=678&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b6c24548329e1b7c3ddc10200fec4202702ded41 βββββββββ βββββββ MEEEEEE (NAYEON) After the title track, we get the first solo on the record one from Nayeon, which Iβve been excited about. Iβve been a big fan of her solo output since Pop! and was curious to see what MEEEEEE would be bringing to the table. MEEEEEEgoes for this bouncy-pop tune that has some tongue-in-cheek lyrics. The vocals are smooth, fitting the pop nature perfectly as they help make this one catchy tune. I wonder if this song was a leftover from her Na album she has already released, cause it feels like it couldβve been on that project. Iβve been having this tune on repeat today since itβs one that has been stuck in my head, and one that I canβt stop humming the melody. https://preview.redd.it/nwkjr867xbuf1.jpg?width=716&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d061ece163fe5269e9f5ea40d4a078f0376b9118 βββββββββ βββββββ FIX A DRINK (JEONGYEON) Jeongyeon is the second solo on the album and one of the most interesting tracks. Jeongyeonβs solo goes for this country-pop tune, reminding me of Austin by Dasha. The guitar definitely has that country vibe, fitting with the smooth vocals from Jeongyeon. The lyrics have bits of a country twang to them that help paint the picture that the singer is delivering. The hook keeps pulling me back for more as Iβm enjoying that section a lot. Jeonhyeon fits this country vibe perfectly, as this might be the best country-sounding song that has come out of Korea. If you think Jeongyeon canβt sing, listen to this track, cause she has a beautiful voice. https://preview.redd.it/36mon75fxbuf1.jpg?width=2669&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5cb6f6d5dc5f07cdb570eae473d86decbd477cf1 βββββββββ βββββββ MOVE LIKE THAT (MOMO) Momo delivers the third solo on the album, fitting this dance-pop-sounding beat. Momo brings in a slick vocal performance that fits the thumping bass and synth. The hook has been growing on me with each listen, as Iβm starting to like that section. Momo does give us a little rap that adds to the overall vibe of the tune, which works wonderfully with his voice. I find that Momo fits the best with a Dance-pop sound, as it lets her use a deeper tone that we donβt get to hear from her that much. I will say I like a deeper tone from Momo than her squeaky tone she normally does. https://preview.redd.it/75iu1twkxbuf1.jpg?width=266&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=64f65bd24610440aa1fa23bfcaccb80887f317a5 βββββββββ βββββββ DECAFFEINATED (SANA) Sana delivers the fourth solo on the album, one that has a tropical vibe to it that works well with her voice. Sana has a sweet voice that fits with this tropical-dance-pop beat like crazy. The hook has a smooth vibe that fits the performance perfectly. I wasnβt sure what type of song Sana would be going for, but after hearing it, I find that this tropical-dance-pop vibe fits her wonderfully, and this is another song on the album that is growing on me just like the Momo solo. This new Sana solo is just as good as Mirage, which was on the Misamo album. https://preview.redd.it/46m554vrxbuf1.jpg?width=266&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=741c47abbceee0e0632641ccc49c1045a8e2a3aa βββββββββ βββββββ ATM (JIHYO) The fifth solo on the album is from Jihyo, who goes for this slick-saltry-R&B tune that hits hard. Jihyoβs performance has a bit of a swag nature that blends with her voice. I love the delivery of the vocals as Jihyo hits some slick notes that blend with the smooth instrumental. The hook is smooth, just like the verses that keep pulling me back for more. Jihyo is a great vocalist, and this is another tune she dominates, even in the lyrics. The thumping nature of the bass adds to the vibe of the tune, which is helping get this song stuck in my head. The bridge is another section that hits hard as Jihyo hits some fantastic notes. https://preview.redd.it/4lczla0xxbuf1.jpg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8f86f8b12fa0602c4a90bfcb8c774aac576bc13b βββββββββ βββββββ STONE COLD (MINA) For the sixth solo on the album, Mina delivers this dark-pop tune that I didnβt expect from Mina. Minaβs slick voice hits hard with the dark nature of the instrumental. The groove the instrumental delivers is something that fits the delivery of the vocal performance. I might like this dark-pop tune from Mina a little more than Misty, but that was still a great song. The hook has this experimental vibe that adds to the overall vibe. Mina does a great job with her solo, which I will be having this track on repeat. https://preview.redd.it/6keh8zo1ybuf1.jpg?width=2001&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2b2edf7dd131fbf52021772f9d40a335af5850d7 βββββββββ βββββββ 8. CHESS (DAHYUN) Dahyunβs solo on the album turns FΓΌr Elise into a trap tune, which I didnβt expect. Dahyun delivers a killer performance that fits perfectly with the FΓΌr Elise sample. The hook is pretty catchy thanks to the sample the producers used. The thumping trap vibe moves the tune forward, blending with the vocals from the singer. During the bridge, Dahyun spits a rap that I didnβt expect at all, but it works wonderfully with the vibe. With each listen to Chess, I find myself falling in love with it even more as Dahyun keeps impressing me. https://preview.redd.it/vc5itl48ybuf1.jpg?width=278&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e4c7fbb204bb198bc83257265ac273b0541a3d3b βββββββββ βββββββ 9. IN MY ROOM (CHAEYOUNG) Now, long ago, we heard Chaeyoungβs first solo album, one that went for an indie-pop sound that I didnβt expect. For her new song, she goes for a dream-pop sound with vocals that feel a bit pitched. At first, I didnβt like the vocals much, but Iβm starting to get used to them. Chaeβs performance fits the dream synth-pop melody that works with the singer. The hook is bouncy with its dreamy nature, which I think fits the singer the best. I have always found Chae the most different out of the group, and he solo music shows that she likes a different kind of sound than the rest of the group, but itβs something that works for her. https://preview.redd.it/0czw3xtcybuf1.jpg?width=275&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f9a75148990e1df4afcf1bb8a862e73ae8c31209 βββββββββ βββββββ 10. DIVE IN (TZUYU) Tzuyu closes out the album with an R&B-pop tune that works perfectly with her sweet voice. Tzuyu fits wonderfully with the high hats, the moves, and this bouncy tune perfectly. The hook is slick and smooth as Tzuyu brings in a sweet tone that adds to the mix. I feel like this solo from Tzuyu hit differently than what we got on her solo album, which I enjoyed a lot. DIVE IN closes out the album in an excellent way that makes this project complete. https://preview.redd.it/9qoha78hybuf1.jpg?width=2000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9a6e661ba1049ca5070f43df9bcba9eea1bf11c5 βββββββββββββββββ Summary: Twice released a special album that I had a fun time listening to, as it felt like a celebration of the ten years of being a group. The members do a great job with their soloβs impressing me a lot. Jeongyeon goes for this country-pop vibe that I wasnβt expecting at all, but it works wonderfully with her voice. Nayeon gave us a catchy pop solo that I know will be stuck in my head like crazy. Dahyun hit hard with the classical sample her solo brought to the table. All the solos on the project brought something to the table, and they are all ones that I will be having on repeat as I continue to celebrate ten years of Twice. βββββββββββββββββ https://preview.redd.it/7s03omakybuf1.jpg?width=1292&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=af3b402610c5ad9f7f35986e80c1ed7d097dcd83 submitted by /u/Maltifandom23 [link] [comments]
I'm digging up old stuff I know (this being downvoted wouldn't surprise me and if it does it's fine lol), but is anyone still so dumbfounded by this? 2 of the biggest idols of the biggest kpop groups, being seen walking hand in hand together. Tons of evidence to support it was 99% them, and yet fans decided to.... mass delude themselves into believing they were cosplayers? Look, if they can play parasocial, so will I for a second; that walk and posture in the video was very Taehyung lol. I guess I got reminded of this incident because of the whole 'Jennie, Kai and Taehyung' incident this week of them all going to Paris lol, and for some reason, so many comments were once again stuff like "why is Taehyung dragged into this, they never dated". (and ofcourse they are ALWAYS Taekook shippers lmao). Anyway, I just think it's funny how these fans will act like they know their idols the best, up until it gets a bit too real for them and then all of a sudden they all are apparently in desperate need of a pair of glasses. submitted by /u/Due_Improvement_5699 [link] [comments]
