Hey everyone, I don’t usually post stuff like this, but my wife just finished writing a book about K-pop. Full disclosure: I know basically nothing about K-pop myself (couldn’t name more than maybe two groups if my life depended on it), but I’ve seen how much time and energy she’s poured into this project. She’s been researching, writing, and editing for what feels like forever : late nights, stacks of notes, random music videos playing in the background and honestly, I’m proud of her for seeing it through. If you’re into K-pop or just curious, it would mean a lot to her if people checked it out. I know she’d be thrilled to see her work reach more readers. Thanks for reading, and sorry if this is a bit sappy I just think she deserves a little shout-out. submitted by /u/DownTownLoading [link] [comments]
I tried to design him to be a literal robot that you can put your Ideas on him, a blank canvas- he can be a sweet idol or a angry tsundere, he could be happy or depressed, he could be anything you want him to be. submitted by /u/Makumi_Washoy [link] [comments]
I think we all saw that Golden just reached 656 PAKs, thus making it the song with the most PAKs ever, over Ditto, Dinamite and other. And it's nlt about to stop : the next big releases, Ive, LYW and aespa, only release after the 25th of August, making it possible for Golden to reach 1000 PAKs and absolutely destroy the previous record (655 for ditto). My take is that Netflix should use this success and continue the groups activities, release more music. Use the same designs in an MV. Ride of the movies success and continue *both groups (You idol is huge). Make Instagram accounts, post teasers, "drawings" etc. Provide maybe a back story to the members. And continue to use EJAEs voice and the others (and maybe use fairer line distribution, for the movie, having Rumi sing 95% of the lines is okay, but kf you chose this road, fans would grit their teeth). My concerns is that it would be so expensive to pay for new animations. But rn if they ride of their success, they could be the biggest "gg" ever (and actually make kpop more popular than it is rn, I mean, "locals" love the show, the same people that wouldn't touch a kpop song before. The show is a great gateway to kpop). Second concern is that they can't make the characters perform (BUT, I could see some kind of double phenomena, like releases mv and fake animated performance and make the real singers do some kind of tour, perform at MAMA and others, with KDH characters on screen behind them etc). Huntr/x, and Saja Boys, are gold mines, and simply letting them fade with no other content would be such a bad move. Plus it would be a great advertising for Netflix (or whatever the studio is, I confess I know nothing about it). What are your thoughts on this ? Am I alone thinking it would be such a waste to create them and letting the group only be fictional ? submitted by /u/Fine_Internal408 [link] [comments]
Context: I was a kpop fan back in 2018/2019 then not long after I stopped. (because at that time I was just a really really casual fan of the classics like blackpink and BTS) In 2021, I discovered a kpop group and gave kpop another chance and I fell in love with kpop again. Now, I've been trying to like more groups but none of the groups seems to hit the same as that group. I've been a dedicated stan of that group for forever and I watch every single content they put out and collect their albums too. So here comes the question: I really want to like more kpop groups, but I can't seem to get into other kpop groups as much as that initial group, what should I try? [maybe some kpop group recommendations too!] submitted by /u/Ikniszyo1 [link] [comments]
Machine translation: It has been confirmed that the girl group New Jeans recently won a lawsuit seeking hundreds of millions of won in damages against a YouTuber who sexually harassed them. This is expected to serve as another wake-up call to the so-called "cyber wreckers" who continuously harass celebrities such as K-pop artists to gain public support or financial gain. According to a comprehensive report by Sisa Journal on the 11th, Judge Lee Ah-young of the 13th Civil Division of the Seoul Western District Court ordered Mr. Shin to pay 5 million won each to Minzy, Hani, and Daniel, and 7 million won each to Haerin and Hyein in the damages lawsuit filed by the five members of New Jeans (Minzy, Hani, Daniel, Haerin, and Hyein) against Mr. Shin on June 25th. This ruling was finalized on the 22nd of last month as Mr. Shin did not appeal. Shin is accused of operating two YouTube accounts between April and May 2024, creating around 20 videos, including shorts, that sexually harass New Jeans members by manipulating their stage footage and original content (jacons), and posting malicious comments. In the videos, Shin changed the word "Cookie" in the New Jeans song to "thick" and the expression "brightly greet" to "X-gi." He also highlighted the members holding the microphone and eating cucumbers to suggest quasi-sexual acts. Shin also left malicious comments such as, "I use the word 'jacon' differently. It refers to controlling my XX thickly and powerfully," and "I want to make you a mother of many children." In response, New Jeans' agency, Adore, filed a criminal complaint against Shin in June of last year and also filed a damage suit for a total of 100 million won, 20 million won per member. Adore, the agency of New Jeans, also took advantage of this method and worked hard for over a year to catch Shin, including appointing a legal representative, hiring a legal representative, and filing a public information request with a US court to obtain Shin's identity from Google. During the trial, they were able to win the case for an unusually high amount by emphasizing the malicious intent, including defamation of the artist. The judge ruled in partial favor, stating, "It is clear from experience that a person whose personality rights have been violated by the other party's sexual expressions suffers mental anguish." He added, "The personality rights of the New Jeans members have been violated, and they are liable for damages resulting from this." Considering that Hae-rin and Hye-in were minors at the time, the court imposed a higher compensation award on them than the other members. submitted by /u/Difficult_Win_2534 [link] [comments]

There’s a lot of talk about this new group, so I went ahead and listen to their song. And all I could think about is how they missed the boat on that Slick back dance (For those that don’t know, it’s a dance where it looks like you’re continuously stepping/floating on air”) not that long ago. Other than that, instrumental-wise I do like it but I’m glad it is not the main song they debut it because it barely showcase anything 😅 That’s it, that is my K-pop thought of the day lol submitted by /u/thrumeout [link] [comments]
Like, if they are supposed to be virtual, why not embrace it fully?, also I think its more easier to conect with people than hyper-realistic ones (uncanny valley and all that) submitted by /u/Azetton [link] [comments]
i dont wanna hear any shit abt being a fake army esp after stanning them for more than 5 years now. So the cocacola made V their ambassador and i dont have it in me to keep stanning that group. i don't expect them to stand up with gaza anyway but the least they can is not promote genocide. Bro was my bias but i care abt humanity more than my interests. I used to be so proud of them for donating stuff and shit and being good humans but i guess they've changed or they were just like that to begin with. Now before anyone says "Oh maybe he doesnt have any idea about the genocide". IS HE A KID? he has access to internet and that is a trending topic. my personal opinion isnt gonna hurt him or any of you so id really appreciate it if yall can be human in the comment section <3 submitted by /u/uhhhh42 [link] [comments]
