Like, is it the pronunciation? Word choices? Or just being familiar with the og version making the translation awkward regardless of how good it is? I once saw that lyrical structure of Korean vs English songs are inherently too different to be able to replicate the exact quality across languages but given a lot of K-pop demos are made by western producers and sung w English lyrics I don’t think that’s it. There’s like only one English version I’ve ever liked/preferred to the og, and that’s love talk by wayv. All the other English versions of K-pop songs I’ve heard were unbearable to listen to, and I wanna know why 😭 submitted by /u/flower5214 [link] [comments]

In my opinion it hasn’t. It was always toxic to some degree, it‘s just the groups and the fanbases that changed. I know some of you cannot imagine that but a few years ago BTS was the main target of K-Pop Reddit, it was a literal hell for ARMY on here. Subs like rants and UKO were considered the toxic ones back then, nowadays it‘s uncensored. Kpop Reddit has always been like this, it just went through different cycles, this happens to every subreddit and general space submitted by /u/Future_Sounds_ [link] [comments]
I think Stray Kids Ceremony is an awesome video with a great twist at the end and should win. I don’t think there are any published criteria for the award, so I don’t think the mv has to have the most streams (which may be more about the popularity of the song than the merit of the video). submitted by /u/Hopeful_Shelter_443 [link] [comments]

Sometimes I find it a little unusual when K-pop idols, who are basically musicians, end up collaborating with influencers or YouTubers whose content has nothing to do with music. It’s not necessarily bad, but often the vibe feels random and kind of forced. Like, the videos usually revolve around eating, showing luxury collections, or just casual hangouts ~ which makes it feel less special. Of course, I get that these collabs are meant to target certain markets, and some groups (or even agencies) have really strong fandom bases in specific countries. But sometimes it almost feels like the agency is just trying to maximize profit and exposure, rather than focusing on meaningful or music-related partnerships. Personally, I think it would make more sense if idols worked with influencers, creators, or even local musicians whose content actually connects to their career as artists. It would feel more natural and keep their image a bit more exclusive. Has anyone else ever thought about this, or am I just overthinking it? submitted by /u/Brave-Tumbleweed-330 [link] [comments]
