I'm a casual listener of MEOVV, I didn't like their debut song or Body which was also broadcasted but I really liked their SP. Hands Up definitely grew on me, but I expected something more. And now they dropped Burning Up and for the first time I listened and immediately liked it. No actual complains, because I really don't like the same upbeat that girlcrush concepts do in the chorus/break dance but this instrumental was very nice done unlike Body/MEOW. Kinda gives ITZY vibes with their concept right now. Very well done. submitted by /u/po_pov [link] [comments]
One of the clearest trends in 5th Gen has been the number of boy group survival shows which have formed many successful groups or introduced future successful idols. But at the same time many didn’t make it (even after multiple shows) or ended up in failed projects or obscure groups. So I propose a 2026 show with a 2027 debut in mind (likely the last year of 5th Gen so it will be poetic to see this type of group debut then) with 18 contestants. We have to see them all we get a 3 minute intro from each (which is aired in the show) and throughout the series all their efforts are reflected we get to see their relationships, triumphs struggles and silly moments. Each team member gets a 2 minute interview on their thoughts (increase screen as contestants are eliminated) in addition to the whole team dynamic. Dorm content is a must. I think there should be 3 rounds a semifinals and final The songs used should all be 5th Gen Round 1 2023 - (theme the beginning) In Bloom, Get a Guitar, One and Only (6 members each) Eliminate 2 Round 2 2024 - (theme hit songs) Plot Twist, Love 119 (8 member team each) Eliminate 2 Round 3 2025 (theme monster rookies) Rendezvous, All My Poetry (7 Members Each) Eliminate 2 Semi Finale 2026 - ? (Whatever is the number 1 song 5th Gen song then) (both teams of 6 perform it) Eliminate 2 Final a new song by EL CAPITXN and Lee Hae-in (Maybe fans vote on which concept/ producer they prefer) (5 members each) Final lineup will have 7 members Top 3 by 7 pick top 3 by 1 pick and one final member live audience vote where all 4 remaining candidates are eligible The producer of the final group should be Lee Hae-in (the producer behind KIOF and CLOSE YOUR EYES) (EL CAPITXN - tripleS and AHOF is another option) As for the company I’m not sure if you have any ideas do say. Im curious if you have any alternative ideas I am curious to hear you thoughts. submitted by /u/ARG_obesessed [link] [comments]

i'm really curious! also, if you think that i'm defining early kpop vs later kpop incorrectly, please let me know how you'd define it! for early kpop, it seemed more common to have all the members singing and harmonizing at the same time. i really liked that a lot with later kpop, i like how it seems to span across more genres. but maybe early kpop did that too and i just missed it? what do you guys think? submitted by /u/Relevant_Loan2278 [link] [comments]
i LOVE when a girl group covers a boy group song, and vice versa of course. but my favourite has to be of f(x) covering ring ding dong. i also love loona's cover of sorry sorry like omg 😫 what cover sticks out to you the most? theres so many! submitted by /u/0x1trinity [link] [comments]
I've genuinely seen more people mistake inactive grps as nugu than I've seen people putting actual nugu grps under that category. For example,I've lost count of those who've classified wjsn as nugu. They aren't nugu, they're just inactive. When they were active they were decently popular. They won queendom in 2022,they had a Christmas hit that rose every new year's on korean charts, they hit the 100k sales mark for their albums. They were comfortably top mid tier. It also happens a lot with 2nd gen grps than newer gen kpop fans may have not heard. I've seen people put some really popular 2nd gen grps such as kara and AOA on the nugu category. They were nowhere near nugu tho. They're just disbanded/inactive. (I think kara recently reunited tho) An actual nugu grp is an active group with low streams, sales, social media engagement and a small fandom. Inactive grps such as wjsn don't have recent achievements, not no achievements at all. submitted by /u/Alive-Pitch-9180 [link] [comments]
Why I don't stan and listen to bgs: The Boyfriend Image: A lot of bgs sell the “I want to be your boyfriend” image. It feels like they focus more on fanservice than the music. I just want to enjoy the songs, not get into parasocial relationships. I’m a straight woman btw. The Music: Bg songs are harder to get into. They’re not as catchy or easy to listen to for me. Gg songs are my type. Gg songs are more appealing because they have fun beats, easy melodies, and tuneful vocals. Fashion: I like how girl idols dress more. Their style matches my preference. Albums and Merch: Gg albums and merch are so much cuter, cooler, and prettier. I actually want to buy them. Relatability: I just relate to girls more. They feel like friends or sisters. Voices: I prefer female voices. They sound better to me. Other Reasons: There’s a bunch of little things, but these are the main ones. submitted by /u/sparklemoments [link] [comments]
