10. am i just dumb bc i don't understand why companies don't do this for music videos💀

  • 6 hours ago schedule

[tagging as discussion bc if it doesn't have a reason then i think it would be cool to talk/think about, and idk if anyone will have a definite answer haha] we all know how overstimulating kpop mvs can be - multiple set and outfit/makeup changes, edits/cgi, choreo shots etc. - and often there will be sUch good looks and sets but we only get to see like...10 seconds of it cut up in between other scenes so it's sort of wasted. we all know kpop companies lOve getting as many clicks, views, likes, streams as possible and how they already milk releases lol, and obvs we dO get mv behind the scenes vids - usually showing some of the group/a member filming a part of the mv and some takes, BUT i was wondering why companies don't release various videos, after an mv has been released for a bit, where each video is showing a specific set and the makeup/outfits that go with that set from the mv? (**example below) obvs minus all the takes that they wouldn't want us to see if idols looked "bad" or silly lol specifically for shots that don't require a lot of noticeable cgi *e.g. for the baggy jeans mv there would *hypothetically be a video for: • all solo shots of members w the light shining on them • black and white striped floor set • fake desert background where they're shirtless • all solo shots of them outside where the skaters are • rooftop (this has a lot of cgi but yk it's not essential) • pool table room • giant radio/speaker thing (idk what it is lol) • garage • white background and dark floor (obviously they could compile these parts into 1 long video or 1 for all solo shots and 1for group shots+choreo etc. whatever) i hope im explaining what i mean well lol💀 basically, since they already hAve many minutes of different outfits/shots/sets/choreo filmed that didn't make it into the video, why not put these into other little videos that fans can watch? in my mind this would be super beneficial in getting more traction for the song/mv, would let fans see the different outfits and sets properly, and the companies would be getting their proper money's worth out of all the things they filmed and used lmao is there something I'm missing?? like is there a very obvious reason why they don't do this or?? bc i feel like if it's not showing the idols looking "bad" in unused takes then lowkey...why not😭 it's already been filmed 😭 and it would need minimal editing of basically just splicing different shots together ESPECIALLY bc kpop is sooo saturated w content and is full of fan edits, so i think this idea just makes sense😭 submitted by /u/Important-Zombie9331 [link] [comments]

11. If you can't praise a group without putting others down, don't be surprised when the replies are negative

  • 6 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

It's simple. People don't like when their favorite groups catch strays on completely unrelated posts. This goes for every platform. You don't have to compare one group's success to another to make their achievement look good. It can stand on its own. You don't have to bring up other groups that were never mentioned to throw shade mid-discussion. You don't have to make it a competition. Of course, you can do all those things, but there should be no surprise when there's a negative reaction. How you say things do impact how people receive your words. Sure, there will still be people who react negatively even if you don't put others down, but that reflects poorly on them, not you, and they will likely be a lot less if you at least try to be respectful of other groups. submitted by /u/SageSageofSages [link] [comments]

12. Can we normalize ticket concert partial refund?

In 2023 Ready to be world tour, Chaeyoung missed PH concert and now Jeongyeon is going to miss the This is For tour PH leg on Saturday. The concert goers should get a partial refund. I know that the artists' health is always the priority. But we paid for nine, we should get nine! For context, my frustration comes from the expensive ticket prices and the concert hall itself is hard to reach so that's extra charge just to go to. submitted by /u/kuroyamaboo [link] [comments]

14. The horse teeth veneer epidemic in kpop

Everywhere I look I see idols from every generation getting their perfectly nice or average teeth replaced by those toilet seat veneers. They look like horses. It’s actually driving me crazy. 15. Unpopular opinion on Jisoo's dancing. What do you guys think about it.

  • 7 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

As much as I love BLACKPINK, I sometimes notice that Jisoo’s dancing, especially in group performances can come across as a little awkward. It feels like she’s doing all the steps correctly, but something about the energy doesn’t fully click. I remember thinking she looked more confident in the past, so I wonder if this is something recent. Even though Jennie can be inconsistent with her energy at times, it usually doesn’t come across as awkward in the same way. submitted by /u/EarthBubbly392 [link] [comments]

17. Do we still need brand related airport pics in 2025?

  • 7 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I was reading an article about the security for Byeon Woo-seok being sentenced to fines over excessive use of force in the airport. The case happened last year. What caught my attention was this part: “The person under protection (Byun Woo-seok) did not use the airport secretly to avoid being followed, but carried out his schedule openly,” Judge Shin stated. “If (his actions at the time) were intended to prevent the person under protection from being filmed, he could have kept his schedule a secret, covered his face with a hat and mask, and moved to a quiet location.” He then criticized, “At the time, (the person under security) rather exposed his schedule and moved through places where fans gathered as if he was having a ‘fan meeting.’” (translated from the original article with google translate) We are right in the middle of PFW (with NYFW, LFW, MFW before) and there are several idols travelling for brands - and they all use the airport as a scheduled photoshoot to promote their events. The idol has to show up wearing the brand for the press to take pics, that generate articles and are posted on the brand's social media. It is part of their duties. Is this really needed in 2025? The judge talks about how the actor could have kept his schedule a secret, but this is impossible with fashion week shows. Yes, fans should not be going to the airport. But making these airport travels so public, so the idol is seen, end up encouraging fansites and have fans treat the airport as something that it isnt. And you also have a lot of press disturbing a place that is meant for regular people to just come and go, without being subjected to crowds. I believe you can still make news and have their idols post their own pictures going to events, is there really a need for brands to treat the airport as their own runway? submitted by /u/MidnightCowboy0613 [link] [comments]

18. Yerin baeks new album is seriously so good and doesn’t have a single skip

  • 7 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Sorry the masterpiece this album is, it’s very cohesive throughout and contains so many good b-sides that I think explore a new side of music for her, I loved her album every letter I sent you but flash and core definitely feels a bit more darker thematically and slower, the jazz modulations on mirror are honestly so good. Frankly this is an album I will probably often revisit, it feels like something I would listen to if I was walking through the city during autumn or winter and exploring I think the closest I can compare this to music wise is prob Taeyeons something new mini album My favorites are television star, mirror, karma calls, another season with you, in the middle and your yerin. submitted by /u/henrietta- [link] [comments]

20. Times you think groups nailed every aspect of an era (music, mv, performances, promotions, etc.)?

  • 8 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I was thinking about K-pop groups who have had iconic eras: not just great albums, but times when everything about the album rollout and promotion was perfectly executed. Here are some of the elements I think contribute to a great era: Music - both title track & full album Music videos Concept photos, films, & teasers Album packaging Costumes, styling Choreo and performances Tour Promotions (release strategy, marketing materials, appearances, etc.) The "story" of the era (Did the era launch them to stardom? Were they making a "comeback" in the western sense?) Do you think there have been eras in K-pop where most or all aspects of the album rollout were iconic, not just the music? submitted by /u/pussycontrolgonemad [link] [comments]

24. K-pop is flopping (imo) this year while Katseye is consistently dominating worldwide?

  • 9 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Sorry for using the term "flop" as I can't any think any word that would define a decline to the majority of K-pop groups' recognition nowadays. From day 1, I wouldn't be surprised if they would take the lead someday simply because they're enjoying being themselves and they're VERY FREE to talk any topic like gender, political issues, and many more controversial topics, something you wouldn't hear from the majority of K-pop as companies are forcing them to shut up and this is one of the major reasons I think why most people adore them. Another thing is that sometimes Katseye wouldn't bother to instantly interfere with other people in public, like when Megan and Lara just randomly joined someone's dancing video in public and just ran away as if they were strangers lol. Sofia talking about the corrupted politicians here in PH, and omg, Lara would literally give you serious life lessons and different perspectives on how you should approach situations differently, and them as a group being chaotic and talk what the hell they want to talk about. Katseye is obviously different aside from making music, they're the people who would love to enjoy with other people around and they're free to do what ever they want unlike majority of the K-pop groups just being silent by their companies. They're so vocally loud. They're the group I would listen to and get valuable lessons from them from different topics, maybe because they're not in a strict East Asian type of discipline but more of full-grown Western women who truly know their worth and know what they're fighting for. Idk but it's my opinion so pls don't hate on it. submitted by /u/Alarmed_Pepper9665 [link] [comments]
