Generalizing statement about Korea, Korean society, etc or most other countries are not acceptable except under the following standards: The only claims that are acceptable when generalizing Korean society in this sub are those that bring up generalizable stastical claims by the standards of the international statistics institute. Not only do the vast majority of stastistics you can find on the internet about Korea not up to this minimum, basic standard but this requirement includes having ample sample size, blocking by relevant demographics and sometimes even double blind tests. So if you make a generalizing claim, your wording must be properly formatted and links to the relevant studies provided. In other words, the standard for making a generalization is very high in this sub. Not to mention the wording for your claim has to be properly made. Anyone who has taken a college level statistics class will know what I am talking about and we may even require you to provide the confidence level interval if it's relevant for your study. [tagging as discussion bc if it doesn't have a reason then i think it would be cool to talk/think about, and idk if anyone will have a definite answer haha] we all know how overstimulating kpop mvs can be - multiple set and outfit/makeup changes, edits/cgi, choreo shots etc. - and often there will be sUch good looks and sets but we only get to see like...10 seconds of it cut up in between other scenes so it's sort of wasted. we all know kpop companies lOve getting as many clicks, views, likes, streams as possible and how they already milk releases lol, and obvs we dO get mv behind the scenes vids - usually showing some of the group/a member filming a part of the mv and some takes, BUT i was wondering why companies don't release various videos, after an mv has been released for a bit, where each video is showing a specific set and the makeup/outfits that go with that set from the mv? (**example below) obvs minus all the takes that they wouldn't want us to see if idols looked "bad" or silly lol specifically for shots that don't require a lot of noticeable cgi *e.g. for the baggy jeans mv there would *hypothetically be a video for: • all solo shots of members w the light shining on them • black and white striped floor set • fake desert background where they're shirtless • all solo shots of them outside where the skaters are • rooftop (this has a lot of cgi but yk it's not essential) • pool table room • giant radio/speaker thing (idk what it is lol) • garage • white background and dark floor (obviously they could compile these parts into 1 long video or 1 for all solo shots and 1for group shots+choreo etc. whatever) i hope im explaining what i mean well lol💀 basically, since they already hAve many minutes of different outfits/shots/sets/choreo filmed that didn't make it into the video, why not put these into other little videos that fans can watch? in my mind this would be super beneficial in getting more traction for the song/mv, would let fans see the different outfits and sets properly, and the companies would be getting their proper money's worth out of all the things they filmed and used lmao is there something I'm missing?? like is there a very obvious reason why they don't do this or?? bc i feel like if it's not showing the idols looking "bad" in unused takes then lowkey...why not😭 it's already been filmed 😭 and it would need minimal editing of basically just splicing different shots together ESPECIALLY bc kpop is sooo saturated w content and is full of fan edits, so i think this idea just makes sense😭 submitted by /u/Important-Zombie9331 [link] [comments]

It's simple. People don't like when their favorite groups catch strays on completely unrelated posts. This goes for every platform. You don't have to compare one group's success to another to make their achievement look good. It can stand on its own. You don't have to bring up other groups that were never mentioned to throw shade mid-discussion. You don't have to make it a competition. Of course, you can do all those things, but there should be no surprise when there's a negative reaction. How you say things do impact how people receive your words. As much as I love BLACKPINK, I sometimes notice that Jisoo’s dancing, especially in group performances can come across as a little awkward. It feels like she’s doing all the steps correctly, but something about the energy doesn’t fully click. Sorry the masterpiece this album is, it’s very cohesive throughout and contains so many good b-sides that I think explore a new side of music for her, I loved her album every letter I sent you but flash and core definitely feels a bit more darker thematically and slower, the jazz modulations on mirror are honestly so good. Sorry for using the term "flop" as I can't any think any word that would define a decline to the majority of K-pop groups' recognition nowadays. From day 1, I wouldn't be surprised if they would take the lead someday simply because they're enjoying being themselves and they're VERY FREE to talk any topic like gender, political issues, and many more controversial topics, something you wouldn't hear from the majority of K-pop as companies are forcing them to shut up and this is one of the major reasons I think why most people adore them. Another thing is that sometimes Katseye wouldn't bother to instantly interfere with other people in public, like when Megan and Lara just randomly joined someone's dancing video in public and just ran away as if they were strangers lol. Sofia talking about the corrupted politicians here in PH, and omg, Lara would literally give you serious life lessons and different perspectives on how you should approach situations differently, and them as a group being chaotic and talk what the hell they want to talk about. Katseye is obviously different aside from making music, they're the people who would love to enjoy with other people around and they're free to do what ever they want unlike majority of the K-pop groups just being silent by their companies. They're so vocally loud. They're the group I would listen to and get valuable lessons from them from different topics, maybe because they're not in a strict East Asian type of discipline but more of full-grown Western women who truly know their worth and know what they're fighting for. Is it normal to lose interest in idols because they look different? In this case I’m referring to plastic surgery, not weight gain, although sometimes drastic weight loss does also affect how i feel about them. Sometimes i look at their posts and all i can notice is how different they look due to plastic surgery. Their face falls into an uncanny valley region for me, and it kind of disturbs me. I feel like that isn’t the person i’ve seen for the past few years, but then i start to feel guilty that I’m judging them based on their looks. In the case of drastic weight loss, all i can notice in their photos are how unhealthy they look and it makes me uneasy to look at them… then again i start to feel guilty for thinking that way. Ive never felt this way about weight gain though. Subconsciously i feel like i like them less, and I recognise this is happening when i start to bias other group members instead. Has anyone else had the same feeling? edit: More thoughts — it always feels like a shame to see them because they looked so much better before and i don’t think getting any work done was necessary.
